    Do you have any videos showing how you fit and finish a door frame / jamb?

    Hi, great video - one question please. Doesn’t the lintel need to sit on a full block either side of the opening? The right side is on a half block? Thanks!

    • @BuildingwithBudd
      @BuildingwithBudd  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No it just needs to be on the block 150mm 👍

      Cheers! Would you recommend a 65x140 or 100x140 reinforced prestressed concrete lintel for 150mm blockwork? Single skin between garage and house exactly as in your video

    looking at doing the same to my property how come you didn't use across to support the wall above

    • @BuildingwithBudd
      @BuildingwithBudd  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Each situation is different and in this particular case I didn’t need to prop anything up, I also did it like this to show the building inspector he didn’t have a clue what he was talking about, many thanks for watching 👍👍

    Do you have to support the wall on a support wall when installing a lintel like this?

    • @BuildingwithBudd
      @BuildingwithBudd  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m afraid it’s just something I do can’t really explain it just use my donkey years of doing it, 👍

    Was this done for a load bearing wall? What type lintel did you use

    • @BuildingwithBudd
      @BuildingwithBudd  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      George we used a pre stressed concrete lintel these are load baring lintels, they are very cost effective and easy to use,
      Many thanks for watching 👍👍

      Gareth I’ve just had another look at this video I can see we showed that we cut the block work out, and maybe we didn’t show all the actual cutting out but the hole is there without the lintel in, sorry about that , cheers for watching 👍

    What s the reason for use a lintel , if you aren't securing the wall with chargers or supports .?

    • @BuildingwithBudd
      @BuildingwithBudd  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tyler in the Uk we have this useless system called building control and they tell you that you need such a lintel wether you do or not , it’s that simple it didn’t need it but had to have one installed, many thanks for watching 👍👏

    Can I ask what price would it be for such job?

    • @BuildingwithBudd
      @BuildingwithBudd  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s like a needle in a haystack, each project has different elements, so creating one price without looking at it is not an option, many thanks for watching 👏👏

      Contractor has to visit the site to evaluate the price of your house, car/s, age, and race to give a custom quote.
