I was exposed to massive amounts of silica dust without knowing or protection while drilling holes for housing and blowing out the holes with compressed air now I am trying to get a Whole Lung lavage to SAVE MY LIFE and remove the silica dust in my lungs before it's too late please spread awareness about a possible hope for removing the silica dust from lungs before it causes fatal damage.
Looked awesome especially doing it by hand! Everyones got their own way of doing it, whatever youre comfortable with! Just a tip from a fellow cutter, try cutting the door in one piece next time, with a 2” relief gap at the top and push it on some tires. Then all youll need is your 20” handsaw to cut it up for hand removal. A lot less corners you have to chainsaw. A lot less hard work.
Also I'd add sheetmetal for flush so you don't have swirls. Plastic on the sides dry slurry is a nightmare to clean.and never pull concrete towards you. I'd also have some tires and plywood for dropping on finished floor
Hey Sam! Hope all is well. Quick question if you don’t mind. I’m looking to get a set up like this to have some guys cut everything as far as slabs go as a division of the plumbing business for redrains etc. question is. What’s this set up they got capable of doing? Thanks!
The hell with any extra cuts u can actually walk that whole price of Concrete out buy simply using your wedge or alternate hitting the bottom sides to walk it out just 2 inches or so just so it will clear the top edge when you push it over onto some tires
I'm a concrete cutter. I do ha e to give full props doing it by hand. We cut walls with a wall saw runs off 3phase 480v generator in our box van. But you guys are badass🤘
When Kyle pulled out that massive portion of the new doorway by hand and then jumped out of the way I'm like: "49 out of 50 times that's going to turn out OK". Glad we didn't turn up that 50th time today. Also was surprised they were haphazard with wearing gloves. You only have one pair of hands (and legs).
Very good explanation of technique, process, and tools. Music was hard to endure, but once i blocked out the music and yoyoyo attitude, i learned a lot 😂
Men get to have all of the fun. We don't live in the days when women stayed at home to be a housewife. Sooo open up these jobs for women too! Women can do this work too. Thats all I see when I watch construction videos these days, men hogging it. Let women in. Men and women work together. Looks like fun and good work.
For the most. Honestly, though, I would have made 1 sqft cut outs personally. Like they say in the video, even small cuts like I am saying can cause serious injury using poor lifting practices. You only have one back, screw that up, and your entire body is done for.
If you walk the opening out 1" by hitting it at the bottom with a 25lb sledge hammer, it will fall right out with no dice cutting. Drop on an old tire and it will land like a feather. Another trick is to stack to blades on top cut on 6" or less works too! you can thank me later. Cool videos!!
And get some spare tires to drop the concrete onto can put some plywood down on top of that will take a lot of the impact of the concrete and won’t bounce uncontrollably
3.0 by 7.0 or bigger, just use a wall saw. Get a cheaper on either the Husqvarna WS 220 or Hilti DST CA 10. I cut by myself and did not take this long to get a 3.0 by 7.0 door cut done.
SHIIIIIIITTTT MAN, have you seen the price tag on a hilti wallsaw unit??? holy fuck man.....$90,000.00 but i will say this you pull out a hilti ws onto a job, and know how to operate it, you be lookin la-jit!!!
@@aq8020 the thing is when it comes to price, does the sawcutter charge by the linear foot, or by the hour? lets say he charges $15.00 per inch foot. now thats $15.00 for every inch of depth of concrete per linear foot, so if it were 4 inches thick then every foot he cut would equal out to $60.00 per foot. A typical man sized door is approx 3x7 foot which is 7+7+3+3=20 linear feet with a depth of cut being 8 inches. So, total cost for cutting 1 man door would be $15.00×8=$120.00 ×20=$2400.00
Why do you guys use down cut saws? Try an upcut saw "blade spinning the other way" Makes Handsawing so much easier... Puts hydraulic handle grip/lever on the top side of vertical cuts which can cut farther down to bottom of cut and way more ergonomic for the operator.IMHO
I would prefer to hear the natural cutting and sawing sounds without the music, the video would be more educational if the viewer is able to notice how and when the sound changes as the cuts are being made.
Gotta be 3 to 5k job?? I'd be taking that straight out of the AIA's pay!!! I was so thinking a guy was gonna be sitting on a toilet or chair when they pulled that slab out. I always like to check on the other side of the wall before I do a job like this.
Trying to kill your workers . Big saw and you got hydraulic hoses to . And let the concrete just fall on to the good concrete. Big D just need to put camera down and go buy some lighter saws!!!
I dont understand your process of cutting openings. you always cut your horizontals first then your verticals. if you cut your verticals fist then horizonals second you run into a big possibility of pieces dropping onto your blade in midst cut. especially cutting multiple pieces. I know you Still have to chainsaw but never trust a corner with all that weight. hope your boss will buy you a wallsaw for that tilt panel. I know that sucked ass even with 2 cutters
We appreciate your observations, they cut the way they are comfortable with and did it safely leaving enough material attached to prevent pinching and binding. In our neck of the woods a track saw for a 30/70 is over kill even on tilt.
@@bigdcutting957 I mean everyone has their way of doing things for sure. Personally I think track saw is never overkill especially for tilt wall. It saves your guys and cuts ot way faster and safer. Just my humble opinion. Handsaws are meant for block and stuff where mounting a track just won't work. And yes I'm in central Florida as well.
Respect to these guys. That's not easy work but someone got to do it.

Yup, a lot easier cutting it up on the ground.

Do all your horizontal cuts first starting from the bottom and always cut a keyway at the top to remove safety.
Truck is well organized and equipment is clean. That sets you up for success
You guys clearly know what your doing. Very nice video to watch, aspecially when I'm about to try wall cutting on my own! :)
Thanks!

Nice and safe job which is great because there is lots to go wrong. Great work, and surprised there was so little mess to clean up.
Thank you.
Nice job and obviously isn't a easy task to complete without the correct equipment to make everything look nice and clean
Thanks for sharing ..would this also work on reinforced concrete? We have an old house with full concrete walls and want to open a window in one!
It sure will, you will want to notch out for a door header as well.
im fromindonesian and someday i want to have complate tools like you guys,,,hehehe
'i LOVE IT !!!!!!!
Gentlemen excellant job.
Thank you.
Great video. The only thing I would change is to make smaller cuts.
Great video, great hole. Thanks

in my humble opinion on this is yes. the mess and noise in that environment is not good.
Great vid! Are there any considerations for reinforcing the header of the opening since the weight from above now has to be transferred to the sides?
Not necessary for tilt-wall construction, as the wall was poured monolithically. But for wide openings close to the top of the wall, maybe.
How much do you charge for that? Nice rig
Very good job guys! you have excellent tools for the right job. Excellent information! Thank you very much for sharing.
You guys did a great job, next time that you dropped a wall use some old tires instead of those pallets that will help a lot trust me.
I like the way you did. Great.

do you guys not have wall saws??
We only use them for bigger jobs
Did it take you 8 hours?🤔
No, not even close to that.

And some plastic and vac guy
I guess my idea of cutting is somewhat different then yours. but the outcome is the same. good job.
Rail saw IMO

what tipe of blade did you use on the chainsaw

awesome job guys....... no-one got hurt
Is there any reason you didn't just use a mounted wall saw to ensure straight cuts since it will be exposed?
Was wondering the same thing. Maybe they don’t have one or to save time on the set up?
We only use a track saw for super long or deep cuts.
Only long or deep cuts huh? What about a bank vault with a shit ton of steel in it?....indoors?
@@jmcg2518 bank vaults are thick..... "deep"
Or you could just cut straight.. I do it all the time but I wallsaw as well

Approx 2.5 hours with detailed clean up.

Why didn't you use a wall saw?
Seems to me you need a smaller saw to perform the initial 1 in deep cut ...
