I feel like this movie needed to be two parts, judging from chris analysis of the movie. To flesh out the world because it's being inhabited by dinosaurs again, bigger build up to the villians, and better pacing with more runtime.

I think Hollywoods problem is they keep trying to one up themselves and go bigger and bigger with each film. Part of why I loved the original trilogy is because of how contained and simple the plot was. The only thing that ever made me excited for these new movies were the introduction of water dinosaurs... but we don't get much of that so I don't think I'll personally own 4-6.
yeah, but the classic films also kinda had the same problem. JP 1 had a small cast, one T rex, and raptors so the sequel added x2 the amount of cast, three t rexes and even more raptors, and JP 3 added a bigger and badder dinosaur than the T rex and made a more tame version of the raptors we knew from before. they each tried to be more than one another, and for the most part succeeded since it wasn't as forced nor barbaric as Jurassic world

I mean but here they did not use the issues of the dinosaurs being on earth and taking over the world that much? It was still them in a secluded in a part where they have dinosaurs. It was like hey let's go big here and focus on the dinosaurs walking the earth. Nope we got a scene at the beginning and another scene. It's like a rehash. If you advertise this movie as the last one from the new trilogy and then set up dinosaurs roaming thw workd but using that as an issue in 2 scenarios? Hmmmm. This movie should have been big. But it's not.

it's ironic how one of the most controversial lines from the first Jurassic world actually summerizes this whole trilogy perfectly. "no one gets excited about a dinosaur anymore" (or however it went lol) is probably the whole mentality for these films, to always try to add something big and new and intense but in the process they forgot what made the original trilogy so great, flaws and all
they made the dinosaurs boring the jw trilogy
Here's an alternative pitch:
We start the movie with Alan Grant in his tent doing research when someone bursts in screaming and we see this takes place the same night they went loose in FK. The opening 10 min we see everything Alan has worked for destroyed and a chaotic escape compared to the escape Will, Mike and Johnathan made in Stranger Things 4. Alan shows PTSD symptoms as he barely drives away from the chaos. We keep the 4 year jump. We see many cities have been evacuated and people live in special cities designed to protect them. People are starting to accept them as part of nature, but the governments see the decline in economy by letting the creatures live, so they choose the best way is to kill them all. There are those who want the creatures to live, like Claire and Owen while Alan, Ian and Ellie see that this has gone far enough, so they agree to kill them all. There is a group who wants to gather all dinosaurs to open a new park as a middle ground: to let them live while keeping them away.
So we still have this adventure all over the world with cool set pieces, with our 2 trios trying to stop them for two different reasons. This can arise the conflict from the first movie and state that we can't play God and also see that we can´t focus on 2 good dinosaurs while the rest of the world suffers because of it. The climax of the movie would be in the park. There they find Blue, who can't recognize any of them and eats Claire, or even Owen, to show nature is unforgiving, this makes them snap out of it while the first trio helps them escape and a day later a helicopter bombs the park.
We see a montage of how people took this 'Jurassic era' with some not having learned their lesson and trying to bring back more extinct animals, while others like our survivors staying traumatized and we have a bitter sweet ending with an ending shot of a museum with the skeleton of a T-Rex with a sign reading: "When dinosaurs ruled the Earth".
This sounds emotional and conflicting as fuck.

Blue eating Owen would be epic. She's been downgraded from "deadly predator just barely under control" from JW1 to "aww just a sweet little friendly dino puppy" in JW2. Perhaps a "Travis the chimpanzee" style incident has potential to really drive home the point of how people anthropomorphize wild animals and get too comfortable around them, forgetting what they are until the true mercilessness of nature comes bubbling up in the worst way possible.
My pitch is same as in the movie. But they need to focus on biosyn company.
Too bad. The dinosaurs that escaped CAN'T destroy a city. They're animals not some kind of monsters.
Something that bothered me was, wasn't the indominus rex supposed to be the joker of the dinosaurs. You know how insane it is

I was hoping we wouldn’t have a human villain in a film where dinosaurs are literally freely roaming the earth. Like I want to see how those dinosaurs interact with wildlife and how it impacts daily life of people.
Hear me out. THE POINT OF JURASSIC HAS NEVER BEEN 'HUMAN GOOD, DINO BAD'. IT'S ALWAYS BEEN 'THROUGH CORPORATE GREED MAN WILL ALWAYS FIND A WAY TO ABUSE TECHNOLOGY THUS ABUSING NATURE AND THE WORLD WILL HAVE TO FACE THE CONSEQUENCES'. It is an on going theme that's been there since the first film and the original book. It very much apart of what makes Jurassic Park what it is. THAT'S WHY WE KEEP SEEING HUMAN VILLAINS .

@@ultilinium8 yeah but the first film had an actually understandable human villain. The villains in the first movie (Hammond, Nedry), weren’t entirely unlikeable. They had actual character traits and valid reasons behind their actions. The villains in Fallen Kingdom and Lost World were just cut and paste, and based on the reviews I’m assuming this villain is going to be just like that as well. If they’re going to have human villains, make them someone that’s morally ambiguous like Claire or John Hammond or the parents from JP 3. They all put people in danger but with good intention.
I actually liked the Biosyn and CEO villain than dinosaurs as the cause of the Giant Locust plague.
Because if the Dinosaurs are the cause of the giant locust plague. Then this movie would be a bloodbath. People would be killing dinosaurs senselessly. Even the new and old Heroes would look like a villain because theyd be totally onboard with Dinosaur Extermination. This is gonna be a movie about
ITS EITHER THEM OR US thing. The heroes would look like villains even if their intention is to save humanity by Exterminating every last single dinosaur.
At least in the Biosyn and CEO plot. They became heroes exposing a giant plague.
Sounds pretty… fine then. Lots and lots of dinosaurs which the original masterfully doesn’t show that much for suspence. I truly look forward to see Jeff Goldblum in pure form who we haven’t seen since the original cause he’s more serious and bleak in Lost World.
Its not fine, the villains are also crickets in this movie lol.

The human antagonist in this movie his last name is Dodgson. I wonder if that's the same Dodgson that hired Nerdy (Wayne Knight) to steal the embryos in the original Jurassic Park. If this movie was trying to imply that it is then considering what happened to Nerdy in the original film Dodgson got dealt a huge bowl of irony at the end of this film 😆

@@3CFilms true that. I remember it was implied that Dodgson was with a rival company to Ingen. Based on how the conversation between him and Nerdy went down. You're right though, none of that was revealed or touched upon in this film.
Just a quick FYI the actor who played Dodgson was Richard Parker from the amazing spider-man films

When you said "...and they don't give it to you" major Spongbob movie (2004) vibes
I feel like alot of people went into this movie with high expectations for the movie which I get, but when you do that you might be disappointed with it. I just went in there open minded and just let whatever happened, happen. I personally thought it was really good!
With the concept alone, the trailers and the Length of the movie made me think it could be the best in the trilogy. Ended up hating the movie the worst one so far can't believe they messed this up no dinosaurs whatsoever

I don’t know man, I’m not worried at all. I think a lot of people are going into this movie with expectations too high, or maybe I’ve just managed to keep my expectations in check. The Jurassic World movies are nowhere near what the original film was and after 29 years and 4 sequels that didn’t match it, I think it’s a bit foolish to expect the 6th film to suddenly be a Spielberg level classic. I don’t care about the plot as long as I’m having fun. I’ve said that since JP3 and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every Jurassic movie. I’m seeing this one Friday and I’m still super pumped.
1. People want a summer block buster
2. TopGun set the bar. JWD is weak in comparison.
I’m a big Jurassic fan and loved every part but dominion is the weakest and boring movie of all Jurassic movies. Worst experience 😫
I'm on the same mindset really.
Since rewatching the films as adult I became aware of the sequels' flaws and dumb moments and dialogues..but the dino action was spot on lots of times. And as for my expectations- I learned to keep them at bay since Godzilla vs Kong: the film was fun but failed to face my sky high expectations, so I'm going to dominion with not that big expectations..maybe it'll surprise me🤷🏻♂️
So I saw the movie last night, and I gotta say it wasn’t bad. It’s probably my least favorite Jurassic movie, but keep in mind that I’ve never had this hatred for any of the sequels. I still enjoyed Dominion quite a bit.
I really hope they make a spin-off series for the franchise to fulfill that dinosaurs coexisting with humans plot since they confirmed there will be more movies or more content in the series.
Hopefully they'll make that spin off with the cast of Camp Cretaceous, because i want to see Darius's reaction

Love how you rate this. I see these reviews and I’m thinking you know the stories are not going to be critically acclaimed. this is just a summer blockbuster fun movie. I don’t go into this expecting to be amazed at the story line. It’s a few hours to get entertained and take your mind off work and everyday stresses of life. I love how you segment your ratings. I haven’t seen it yet but looks entertaining and so far I get exactly what i think im getting when I’ve seen all the others.

I agree, visually this was very interesting, but the story is so lame, hard to explain without spoilers, but like you said, I too was expecting something to focus on having dinos around, not yet another corporate-villain thing, we've basically seen that 5 time already
They should've focused on the problems the dinos caused.

So the fact that you mention that they don’t fully commit to Dinosaurs running around reminds me of this interview back in 2020 they had with the Director talking about JW Dominion and he said he didn’t want it to be just Dinosaurs running around populated cities but instead but instead have be like you’re driving down an empty road at night and a T. rex just happens to be crossing along the road. It gave a lot of skepticism until they released battle at Big Rock. But after hearing what you said it does sound like he tamed the idea

The plot literally revolves around Locust! It's seems extremely disingenuous that alot of small critics are lying about the film when 80% of the plot is literally focused on stopping Locust from eating all the crops. That's the best plot they could come up with? You could take all the Dinosaurs out of the movie and it nothing changes cause Dinosaurs have nothing to do with the actual plot in this movie
I enjoyed the film but yeah, the Dinosaurs are not really a factor in this movie.

a better plot would be Blue turning on Owen, honestly. The first JW made it clear she's barely under Owen's control. The second JW suddenly made her loyal to him like some kind of dinosaur dog. So what more fitting way to round it up than a "Travis the chimpanzee" style incident borne of Owen's misplaced trust toward an unpredictable wild predator?

I don't think this is the end since the spoke about going beyond this film but I do think there is a chance that whatever they call it next won't include Jurassic but maybe still have world in the name and that is what they are implying when they say the end of the Jurassic era

I love paleontology and dinosaurs but I truly hate how we went from a single horror movie to an action franchise. I love these movies but I’ve always disliked that aspect
Jurassic World Dominion is awesome, I really love the dinosuars and it seems like a fun film to be in but it would have been better if they shown the Spinosaurus and more older characters from before even if its a cameo.
They really should've had the Spino in the film but I think they might make another sequel so they probably saving Spino for that

Well, an actual adaptation of the books would lead to some heavy R rated true horror stuff, and it probably won’t ever happen. People see Jurassic Park as an older kids movie. No way would they enjoy seeing what Michael Crichton did in those novels.

I just got back from seeing it, I thought it was really good but it did feel a bit long, really wished they hadn't spoiled the Dilo in the trailer. I thought the locust thing was interesting but wasn't really needed. A highlight without getting into spoilers was a a deer getting slapped, it was so funny 🤣
The Giga should have the same menace screen time like the Spino n Indominus rex
Personally, i luv'd seeing the golden trio & them meeting the Pratt pack.. but i seriously found the story lacking. Which is a shame, considering the amount of dino's they threw in there. 🦖♥️🇵🇭

As a Jurassic, camp crustaceous fan I am so very grateful to watch your video and to have not seen Dominion in theaters.
I had been looking forward to this movie because of what they were doing with the animated series, Camp Cretaceous.
I had hoped we were going to have a rebirth of Jurassic films based on what we’ve seen at Lucasfilm with George Lucas‘s Clone Wars. Now we’re seeing characters and storylines from that animated series brought into stronger tv series than cinema has to offer.
This production had the potential for so much including what is going on surrounding it all. We not only have Biosyn to deal with, but the rise and fall of Manticorp. Also, we could’ve had a rescue mission to save children running from dinosaurs since they were attending Jurassic World as campers.
With it being one of the first productions back to work during Covid and an isolated cast, One of the things I was looking forward to this ‘movie’ was that the cast was isolated during non-production times and excitedly writing together at night. Which we would’ve thought to have made this a better well rounded production. So much marketing went into dinosaurs being everywhere and we didn’t get it.
This just proves un-original exhausted Hollywood productions cannot make it. It’s a Michael Bay world at the cinema, while brilliant productions are being made for television.
With theaters losing in sales overall, the ground work needs to be laid for theaters and productions to expand what they can offer while attending a film. If not theaters will be gone in 20 years. Restore the magic.

It was the best film we saw in theaters in ages because it was so expansively well written and original! My friends and I could not stop talking about it. You don’t see that in theaters anymore.
