Seriously 😒 I went with my family and they knew how much I anticipated this movie. I felt like they liked it only to make me feel better.
I feel your pain. I really wanted to like this movie as well. When I first started to hear how bad it was, I was a little skeptical, but I didn't let that ruin my expectations. After seeing in the theatre, I was disappointed and found myself agreeing with those critics who claim it is the worst of the franchise. If Trevorrow had stuck to the original premise of humans coexisting with dinosaurs, the film probably would have been better.

This movie had so much potential, when I saw the Trex taking over a drive-in in the trailers and everyone is running for their lives to get to this, I am speechless.

Well they want to introduce new scenes in the movie. Fans already saw the trailer so why not put in new scenes for the movie so fans aren't served refried beans.

I definitely feel your pain about them not using the dinosaurs in the wild nearly as much as they should have Cris. Hell they setup a whole website to showcase them being in the wild yet did nothing with that plot point. In fact I remember walking out of the theater after I saw fallen kingdom, and just being so hyped for what they could do now that the dinosaurs are loose in the world. It’s sad to see that they wasted all the possible potential they had with that part of the story.
Not to mention how they promoted the giga and rex rematch that was supposed to be an epic final battle, but instead ended up being an extremely disappointing final fight
The Idea of using the locusts as the main threat and deal was the worst choice in the whole franchise.
I'm just gonna watch people die in Evolution 2 instead.

@@user-sf6dg6hq1k It was a good final kill, but not final fight. Think back to how long Rexy VS IRex VS Blue lasted or Blue VS IRaptor. They all lasted for ages and had amazing slowed down scenes like when the IRaptor fell onto the skeleton, the Mosa jumped out the water and killed thr IRex. They could have easily made this the best movie yet they didn't.

This movie was pretty good in my opinion. My main problem is that it doesn't really feel like "the epic conclusion"
The ending is extremely unsatisfying because nothing changed from the beginning of the movie, so it kinda felt pointless.

Well, yeah. Spino was kind of the main antagonist of that film while Rexy was basically a side character in this one. Hell, even BLUE wasn’t that relevant in this movie. It was more about her baby.

The Spinosaurus was the main antagonist in Jurassic Park III, so of course she would have more screentime, so I really don't see the point of this comment was.
Saw it last night and I really enjoyed it. Although it got bad reviews I really enjoyed it a lot. Definitely think the OG’s carried the movie and made it really good

I love how Colin confirmed that the 2 rexes at the end with rexy where the 2 from the lost world which was awesome! And I love the Giga design! And the therizinosaurus parts.
Why do you care about that? Not being a hater .... but wtf? These sequels are trash and these dinosaurs are disposable and indistinguishable for any personality. All they did was kill the one good character in 2 brutally in a mean spirited way based on the awful script.

I usually stay away from sneak peeks and trailers… usually the teaser is enough for me so I didn’t have that expectation of dinosaurs interacting with civilians, but I will say this movie was longer than it should’ve been. Although I do agree that more Dino’s and civilian contact would’ve made for a more fun movie
Man, it’s not about watching teasers. They literally teased it in the previous movie. What was the trial and releasing of the dinosaurs about then? That’s like Batman Begins having the “Joker card” at the end but not having Joker in The Dark Knight.

I heard a lot of bad things about dominion so when I saw it I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was now it had its bad parts and plot holes but I enjoyed it

The ending of the film was really really really terrible. It has good CGi and cinematography but unfortunately the horrible idea of Dinosaurs and humans interacting and being best buds felt forced and too safe, especially for some reason the mosasaurus is friends with whales...

They may not have leaned into the dinosaurs out in the world as much as expected, but I don’t think it’s fair to say they ignored it either. The whole action set piece in the second act was super fun. I enjoyed this one a lot more than I expected.
The second act took place on the island tho? Unless you’re talking about the fast and furious chase scene in Italy

Right in the beginning of the film we're seeing several examples of how society reacts and exploits dinosaurs in some ways: hunting farms, saving from poachers and the black market. It was pushed aside the moment we started to get into the locust plotline

I felt like the villain here was like Tim Cook and the headquarters even resembled the Apple donut building.
I took my 5 year old son to see it and he absolutely loved it. I’m right there with you tho Chris, the story was all over the place. Maybe they are gauging the movies for a younger audience and that’s why us adults have a hard time enjoying it fully. Seems like a lot of random mini plots and my son didn’t care about any of that, his eyes lit up every time he saw the next dinosaur they put on screen.
While it wouldve have been interesting it would have made no sense and been very forced
I really like this movie, although I was initially disappointed they didn’t dive more into the dinosaurs in the world, but if you think about it the second half was amazing, and while critics hate it but it still has a 80% audience score as of now
60+20= 80. That can also make the RT score 80 percent. 80 does not mean everyone is drooling over this film.
I loved it and my favorite part was when the original trilogy cast meets the new trilogy cast
You’re opinion is so spot on to mine I could breakdown right now. Like this whole trilogy led to dinosaurs living among us and THEY COMPLETELY IGNORED IT!! All that great marketing was just clickbait. This seriously hurts, I feel devastated the franchise ended like this.

The only thing that annoyed me was seeing a fake spoiler of a spinosaurus that had me waiting for an end credit scene that that wasn’t there, other than that just the fact that it went slow, then fast, then slow, then fast, but I loved it, still do wish we got more mainland dinosaur stuff, but I loved it.

Was I the only one that when the dimetrodon sail was in the water, thought it was a spino and was silently going, "YES! YES! SPINO!!" Just to see dimetrodons.
I loved the movie, but the one issue from it was the lack of dinosaurs. This was the only thing that I had problems with the film.
I watched the movie in double feature which included Jurassic park (1993) and Jurassic world dominion and I liked the first movie I felt like it was 1993 and Jurassic world dominion the opening made me hate it it didn’t show the prologue even though it was in the trailer but the battle scenes were epic.
I enjoyed it but there were moments that made it feel like a mission impossible film with dinosaurs add in I absolutely agree about the villains were weak I personally prefer when they have to travel to an island and the dinosaurs pick them off in cool ways
I was so sad that they cut the whole prologue 5 min I was so excited to see that on the big screen, also, me and my siblings made a joke while watching the movie saying “so this is where Richard Parker went to go do”

I've tried something similar before in an amusement part but the film lasted 3 minutes
I didn't really pay attention to the story structure, even though people may think it's poor, you can't really hate for what it is, it's not something really big like a marvel movie, I was just there in theaters because being a jurassic park fan just holds a special place in my heart, the new cool dinosaurs. Yes, even though the giganotosaurus got not much screen time, so didn't dilophosaurus, but everybody was hyped for them. For me, I am just there for an action, yes of course there our boring parts, like Maisy not being able to go outside, but the cinematography was phenomenal, and the CGI. It was really enjoyable for me, the cast came back, new dinosaurs, watched it with friends, it was good.
I actually really like this movie while I do agree with most of the things you said however I do like the twice with Macy's mom and Henry Wu going throw a redemption arc. However my main disappointment is that that Spinosaurus felt missing from this movie. It seemed that literally every other dino from the franchise was in this movie except the Spino. While I liked the way the Giga was killed. I would think it would have been better if the Spino was involved in the final battle with the other two Rexs.
I really enjoyed this movie. I knew what I was getting into. Every movie has just progressively gotten more Mission Impossible/Fast and Furious. It really made me smile to see Allen and Ellie get closure to their relationship. I also found the Therizinosaurus scene slot of fun and very old school JP imo. The Dimetrodon scene was tense and I always wondered since the first movie when they would introduce prehistoric insects. I really liked their explanation for their feathered dinosaurs as a accurate dino vs theme park dino juxtaposition. I had fun. I saw it in IMAX in the first couple rows and cracked a grin every time i had to turn my head to take in the whole dinosaur. That is DEFINITELY the best way to see it. It's better than Fallen Kingdom for sure and maybe that's where my expectations were.

Dammit.. i REALLY wanted to love this film. So much of the marketing made us believe we'd get something entirely different. Especially seeing the "battle at bigrock" fanfilm released and the scenes where the t rex was being chased into the forest by choppers and ambushed a drive in theater. So many amazing moments wasted in the misleading marketing. The locust plot was the worst part for me. The Beta and Maisie rescue shouldn't have taken as much time as it did either. So much else could have been done with this film.. im honestly heartbroken after seeing the movie.. 😩😞

I love the original 3 cast, Sam, Laura, and Jeff, who is always quirky and funny & Chris Pratt, best. I wish they would have included Julianne Moore as Dr. Sarah Harding. Her book character is a real heroine. Can't wait to see the movie and the Dinosaurs. Mutated bugs? Are we going to get a move with prehistoric giant bugs next?
Omg I hope so! I am EXTREMELY interested in giant bugs. I research what they would be like and sound like. It's one of the most fascinating things to me because bugs are creepy and ugly. Just imagine them the size of trucks.

Have you not seen the Jurassic Park Netflix show camp Kartatious in the season five trailer the Barbasol can can be seen so that could indicate that it will tie into dominion
Dammit!!! You're right! If all the dinosaurs died in the last film it wouldn't make any difference to the story that was presented. My initial thoughts were summed up to this: When your driving plot in a dinosaur movie isn't the dinosaurs you know that's your first major problem.
This should have been a movie where the world militaries are killing the dinosaurs around the world and Biosyn wants to have a safe haven for the dinosaurs so they can have their own park, and has the JW cast working for them while the JP cast are advocates of leaving them extinct and are hired by the military for their experience with the dinosaurs, so both teams aren't on the best of terms until there is a conflict to where they have to band together. Maybe the death of Claire or Owen. Something that answers the same question being asked throughout the series: Can dinosaurs live with humans. NO. Then in the 3rd act, it becomes a team effort to stop Biosyn.
Maybe it’s just me but this really didn’t feel like Jurassic Park. It seemed like a spy movie with dinosaurs. Also I want to know what they meant by the “main dinosaur being like the Joker” in interviews.

Every movie after 1997 has been trash. Dinos living in snow? Talking and stopping dinos with their hands? Dinos breaking peoples neck like they know thats the weak spot? Lions roaring against a t rex? People outrunning raptors? Wtf is this shit

I hated this movie. Worst part is that I was actually rooting for this movie to be good, but my GOD, I can't believe how dumb, poorly edited, poorly written and uninteresting it was. The next time I sit through this film, I am going to have to be REALLY drunk.
I very much enjoyed it. I feel like they need one more film that deals with people taking sides on Dinosaurs co existing. They also need all the leads back again and someone(s) important should die. Do the Dinos take over and we become extinct?

Everyone is forgetting that there were giant insects in prehistoric times. And the Jurassic world franchise wanted to bring more prehistoric animals, and not just dinosaurs. Like the Smilodon in Camp Cretacous.
SPOILER WARNING! I was at the premiere and I was disappointed when I didn’t see Tim and Lex appear or even be mentioned in the movie
Edit: Also, I think that Dodson should’ve been replaced with Wu or someone else, and the Giganotosaurus should’ve been replaced with the Spinosaurus for a rematch. My idea was that the Spino is the big bad of this film, just as scary as it was in JP3, and Blue helping Rexy take down the Spino
All the extra backstory they gave Maisy in this movie was sooo dumb and unnecessary. I was fine with her being a clone of Lockwood's daughter as established in the last movie. But making her the clone/daughter of some super smart scientist who died felt forced, un-needed, and just weird
Also, I wish Kayla was Kelly instead. There's no reason her character couldn't have just been an adult Kelly. In fact, that would've made her character wayyy better. It would've been a nice callback. Bonus points if they would've got Vanessa Lee Chester to reprise the roll. Wish Kelly's name was at least mentioned Ian. Sarah Harding should've been referenced too! They should've mentioned the T-rex in San Diego incident too since that was the first time a dino was on the mainland
I saw it yesterday and it was a good ending in my opinion I just love the series and the old cast just made it better same with the references to the old movie and that’s all I enjoyed watching it

I loved it man!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Second best Jurassic movie in my movie, I do wish they focused more on Dino’s more than Human clones and locusts but it wasn’t as bad as people said, I didn’t really mind tho I looked over that and enjoyed the movie, it was just awesome loved it!!! And plus kinda dark so mush Dino’s and the Malta scene is just awesome

I feel the same way as you, they could’ve stuck to Dino’s being out in the wild but they changed it up and I think it worked out. It doesn’t deserve this much hate, people are just so rude and it makes me mad.
Another thing about Dodgson. He was too nice. For a guy who would be wanted for Human trafficking, essentially attempted murder, Genetics misuse and thousands of more crimes, he's WAY too forgiving to those who wrong him. Ian Malcom literally just got told to leave and that was the end of it. Eli Mills in the last movie literally killed his Boss because he disagreed with what they did. He tried to lock Maisie in the estate because she knew his secret. He tried to trap Claire and Owen first in the island so they would die and secondly in the Estate where they would be imprisoned forever or too would die. For the CEO of a company that has been trying to beat inGen, steal from them and take them down he is way too kind. They spent SO much money on this movie developing this only for it to come out as an absolute disaster.

I agree with your criticism of the movie. The handling of the plot structure of the movie, especially the exposition, is flawed and messy. I would love to have seen the main characters be more dynamic in their development. I didn't understand why the writers felt that adding prehistoric locust to the mix was necessary. I felt that subplot took away from opportunities to show more dinosaurs around the world. The Therizinosaurus and Giganotosaurus were under-utilized in the film. Dominion had some great scenes, but overall, it didn't feel like the end the series deserved.
Spot on . That plotline with the bugs ?!?! Wtf locusts ? Nope. They could have done away with so much and kept it simpler . The OG 3 from the first film save this movie but it was a lack luster finale to a good series up until the end . Nothing beats the first two films and even the third one looks so much better compared to this one !
I really didn’t understand the Locust side plot, they could have found any other way to include Maisy and her genetics

The movie was fine, I was kinda bored and waiting for it to be over. I will probably like it a lot more when I watch the trilogy again. There was just kind of a lot of things that didn't need to happen. Like, nothing needed to happen! They needed to fix the locust thing and then they did by keeping dude alive. Everything else was just extra stuff, there wasn't really a plot. There were 3 separate storylines and they tried their best to merge the storylines. It was just producer-perceived fan service, and not writer-based fan service, like No Way Home, which takes a trilogy to illustrate how with power comes responsibility. They were working toward it in Homecoming. Jurassic World trilogy had little vision. Just, "Chris Pratt and dinosaurs... it writes itself!"
I like that you were honest about your feelings about this movie and explained why you didn’t like it and gave actual criticism unlike a lot of more toxic channels who jump on saying “woke!” or saying absolutely dumb things ( Like Critical Drinker, Geeks + Gamers, Clownfish Tv, and many, many more. God I wish they would go away. It’s no longer fun to talk about things with those people existing to make things toxic). It’s refreshing to see you being fair and respecting the opinions of others. I wasn’t all too keen to watch this movie as although I am a Jurassic Park fan, I wasn’t just feeling it, and it sounds like I wasn’t missing too much (then again I kinda gained a new love for the MCU and have been a fan of that for a long time, and am more excited for the next few entries in that franchise) however I respect those who did like this movie and am happy for them and I’m glad that they had fun. Overall keep up the good work Chris!

I love hearing your thoughts on all films Chris! I didn't see any other trailers for this entry, only the first one. And quite honestly, I was okay with this film. Totally agree that the exposition dump at the beginning did not help nor really set the tone up well for the movie. I hated the acting from the bad guy. He didn't even deliver to me. However with all the gang on the island and the dinosaur/human action sequences I enjoyed it. The score to the film always carries through, and I think the score was doing a lot of the heavy lifting for this movie.
I also liked how they wanted to save Blu's child. It gave the ending scene with two families having their loved ones safe and back a nice heart warming smile from me

Unfortunately the story about the barbasol can is told In the Netflix show.kinda like how star wars movies and animated shows are Canon together.
Good news, if this is the completion of the series, now they can restart and do a more accurate adaptation of the original book.
They should have made the original trilogy characters the antagonists (trying to undo the world of dinosaurs) and the new trilogy characters the protagonists (trying to keep humans coexisting with the dinosaurs), thus creating a moral dilemma for the audience and confusing us on who to root for, like in Infinity Wars.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t enjoy this movie, I think Jurassic park 3 was better than this film. Yes I said it, the raptor saying Allen movie is superior in my opinion because i felt like no one was safe in that movie. I didn’t feel like anyone was in danger in domion. I expected an apocalyptic movie where Dino’s took over and the cities were deserted, and how the world was going back to the prehistoric era. And seeing the gang back together surviving this new world would’ve been good!!!!
I enjoyed the film, it was no where near the best and it had it’s flaws but overall I like how Alan and Ellie’s story ends and Owen, Claire and Maisie’s. I hope we get a Jurassic Park film that goes back to basics instead of having complicated plot lines.
What a huge disappointment this movie was, like you said Chris, they overcomplicated things which was not needed. How do they mess up a plot of dinosaurs are now out in the wild and don’t use that? It instead we get plot of mutated locus! What? It’s like they pulled a Disney Star Wars on us, do a soft reboot with Jurassic World and then have no idea where to go with the two sequels to follow. At this point I hope they don’t make anymore because obviously they have no idea where to go.
I’m in between with Dominion, scenes were enjoyable and made me feel intense but also some scenes I just wasn’t interested. If I had to choose i would watch Fallen Kingdom before I watch Dominion again

I’m a huge Jurassic Park franchise fan and personally I came on expecting a bad movie cause of word of mouth but was surprised and enjoyed it for what it was!
I think this movie was mostly about the original characters and bringing them back not really the dinosaurs so I liked the movie because I got to see Dr Grant my favorite character comeback but my only problem with the movie is not enough dinosaurs
Now me personally I liked the movie and sure I’m young and don’t watch a movie over and over to find all the bad and wrong things about it and sure it was not the best but I came out of the theater happy and satisfied. But I do agree about the locusts thing the entire time I was just thinking what does this have to do with dinosaurs or why is this in the movie. I would rate this a 9/10, you might not agree with me but this is just my opinion. I hope this helps anyone looking to watch the movie. (Btw not trying to be rude at the beginning, I know it’s sounds like I’m trying to criticize you on what you do but that is just me.)
I agree with so much of what you said. But from Malta on I really was entertained by the action. So I walked out feeling satisfied. The audience I saw it with was also having a great time hooting and hollering and some even applauded at the end.
Feels like a giant Sandbox where you can select every character and every species but in the form of a movie!
Do yall think the carnotaurus vs allosaurus should have happen bc personally I would've love to see them battle.

I figured It out, ok so my review for jwd . I found the movie AMAZNG personally. the cgi and anomatronics where great and felt like they where real. And some nit picks I have with movie is that I wish that the plot wasn't so focused on the lotus plot point, like that could be part of the movie but I wish it wasn't such a big part of it and I wish that it kinda went in more about the effects of dinosaurs on the main land and my last nit pick is that I wish they built up the giga more throughout the film and make it seem like a formidable threat but I loved it anyway. Besides that 8.7/10 love it
If you want some impressive animatronics go watch the original trilogy. The animatronics in these films looked cheap and moved like literal machines. The Raptor animatronics in JP3 are 100x more impressive.
Everything you said is exactly how I felt about this movie and I saw it in 4D as well
