Imo I thought Jurassic World was good. It's not the best movie in the franchise that obviously goes to Jurassic Park. But you gonna give it credit for doing something different and unique. Not everything is good like I agree with Cris I hate that they try to weaponize the dinosaurs. Also I thought Chris pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard were good in the movie.
I loved Jurassic world. I may be in the minority, but I always thought T-Rex from the original movie was an antihero. When he saved them at the end of the first movie pretty much cemented he was the hero in my eyes.
i actually really love Jurassic world despite some of its flaws, and in this video i felt like i agreed with almost every point made except for one. I do think that the velociraptors being the "good guys" and being loyal and trained by Owen actually makes sense and works for me. It works for me because these velociraptors were raised and trained by Owen their entire life similar to a dog, and they do this because they don't have that killer instinct similar to dogs and wolves. This is also the reason why the raptors are the "good guys" of the series, because they feel loyal towards the main characters. The difference between Raptors and xenomorphs is that those aliens are born and bred to kill, but i don't think humans can do movie magic to make an alien come alive just to train it, and xenomorphs don't feel like an animal that can be loyal, they feel like true murderers. (i do agree that the TREX is a little too easy on the heroes tho)
Don't know about the killer instinct part there, man. In the beginning when Owen/Chris jumps in to save the employee I could see the raptors debating on whether or not to dart right right past him and go for the employee, or just eat Chris. In pack society, the only time an alpha tells the pack to back off is said alpha wants to eat the prey himself. I'm pretty sure these raptors are intelligent enough to figure out that Owen/Chris is not a cannibal (unlike the Indominus Rex).
I actually really liked the shot of Chris Pratt riding a motorcycle with the Raptors. Anyway, I really love your review videos! Keep up the good work Kris!!!
I really enjoyed this movie when it came out! I really liked the concept of the Park being fully realized and seeing a new genetically made dinosaur is really cool.
Besides Jurassic park and the lost world, Jurassic world is my favorite out of the series because not how badass it is but also you learn a lesson that animals can't be control, and when you push to far, bad stuff is gonna happen
I really did like this movie and the themes as well as, of course, the Indominus Rex and Chris Pratt. I think it is a scary damn dino I would never want to run into. And I have never gotten tired of Chris Pratt. I find all his performances enjoyable since being introduced to him in parks and recreation. At the same time, it's balanced by its flaws such as it's side plots that go nowhere and somewhat flat characters that bore me or make me wish Chris Pratt was on screen again. I thought the I. Rex escape was contrived and could've been easily prevented. I also do not like the infamous T Rex scene where Claire was running from a T Rex...IN HEELS. Nah. She dead. Anyways, I like the review. All good points.
Yo, this was the first movie I followed the hyped for when I was 12 years old. Looking at all the leaks and information and all the trailers analysis. The days when Indominus Rex was called "diablous rex" were sure interesting.
Just wanna drop in and say how much I appreciate your reviews. You are without a doubt one of the most positive people who reviews movies online, and the way you praise movies while still pointing out their flaws in non-hamfisted ways is really something special. In particular for this review, it really made me happy to see you bring up all positive stuff about this movie (stuff that I see so many other people just neglect to mention, in favor of just intensely criticizing the movie), and I liked how you still brought up your reasonable frustrations with the newer jurassic movies in an understandable manor. Idk, it really just makes me happy to see a non-hateful review of this film, which is something I feel like I haven't seen in a while, so thank you!
I genuinely like this movie a lot, it felt new and exciting for its time and still to this day it makes me smile even tho it may heavily rely on the nostalgia but I so like that, the whole parent thing was kinda unneeded but still a bit interesting
i have some crazy good luck. back a few years ago on birthday a theatre in town randomly decided to show the original jurassic park in 3D, best b-day ever.
Chris could not have explained this movie any better….. I absolutely loved this movie when it first came out in theaters, the pig scene was what scared me at the theaters with the loud audio and purposeful jump scare and had seen it hundreds of times at home where even my toddler little brothers watch and love this too! I never really got into the Jurassic park series as much as I should have, but Jurassic World was a damn good movie, despite a few flaws
The only place I could see a raptor being used well as a weapon would be in jungle warfare. Putting them in a desert environment would terrible against humans. Even worse would be an urban one. I didn't have a problem with them being trained though as some reptiles can be trained to answer to their name and even be walked on a leash.
Armie Hammer, Glenn Howerton, Jason Sudeikis, Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson, Henry Cavill, David Boreanaz, Josh Brolin, Garrett Hedlund and Chris Pine were considered for Owen Grady. Kristen Stewart, Drew Barrymore, Kristen Wiig and Jessica Chastain were considered for Claire Dearing. Jack Black was considered for Vic Hoskins.
The first Jurassic World is good imo. Doesn’t mess around with it’s dedicated fans like other franchises sometimes do and it is good with new audiences as well. Great video man 🤙
Yo Chris just gotta say your the goat when it comes to making movie reviews your reviews are on point and help me make my choices to watch a movie or not saved money thanks for what you do
something I loved they did for the film(but many skipped over this) is the fact that they mentioned that the only real relationship the indominus rex had was with the claw that fed her, and when Owen hid under it she didn't tip it over not because of plot armor, but because it was the only thing she was emotionally connected with and respected it since it gave her food, so she left it alone. it wasn't really plot armor, but more development for the dinosaur lol
I think you are missing the point of training the velociraptors, birds are intelligent and trainable. They are playing on falconry, as one example- they are trained, but trained hunters! Vultures and large eagles are also trainable- trained hunters. They are trying to show an evolutionary connection between dinosaurs and birds. Just like we know now that many dinosaurs weren't cold blooded nor truly like us, they were somewhere in between being able to regulate their own body temperatures to a degree in the colder weather. Chickens for example create tons of body warmth during snowy winters as long as they are in their coups at night or during storms they can survive just fine as long as they have food and water in freezing temperatures.
No I totally understand they can, I’m just saying it makes them less scary when the past movies focused so hard to make them a threat.. now they are stopped with a hand pose
Thank god for _Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous_ . That show is one of the greatest cartoons on Netflix and I'm so excited for the final season in July...
Lets see, I do get your problems on it, but you know that since after JP3, weaponizing dinosaurs was always their ideas since the beginning and trying to find the right story to go for is something, the original script that were written by the writers from planet of the apes reboot and they contain 65% of what we got, but very different, also I did love it, I seen in in opening night, my mind was blown away P.S you know that there is a Jurassic world animation series on Netflix that takes simultaneously with the movie and explore's a lot more than what the movie have told and it's good, well for the most part, trust me, it at least worth check out
Rewatching these along with you Chris and its so weird to see how my nostalgia for these movies gaslighted me into thinking they were the best thing ever made. Especially with this one as seeing this in theaters was amazing but upon more viewings not so much...
I remember this film specifically, because of the trailers and merchandising; I was a young kid, and this was practically the first JP/JW film I was theatrically introduced to(I had watched the previous films before, but in random TV channel's that happened to air them). So this movie is special for me, and I do agree with you, the Indominus Rex is pretty cool with all the abilities it has. Happy with the review, as always, now onto Fallen Kingdom.
Funny thing the original idea they had for JW when it was gonna be called JP4, they were gonna have half human half Dino soldiers but that got scrapped once they decided to call it Jurassic World. Plus I remember when the trailer first came out people did hate the idea of Chris Pratt on motorcycle with raptors by his side but when it came out that was everyone’s favorite part, at least from my area. I do like this one and Chris Pratt is a national treasure to enjoy watching. Plus this movie gave us one of the funniest scenes ever and that was the Margarita guy
Honestly this is in my top 3 favorite movies of all time. It’s just so good In my opinion. It made Jurassic Wolrd seem supper real, the storyline with the brothers is fantastic. It’s a,so super nostalgic to me cause I saw it when it came out
This film was one of the greatest movie experiences of my life, yeah you can complain about it’s flaws but i don’t care what you guys say, I love Jurassic world
A reason why I don't think Claire is speaking to the fans when she says no one is impressed by a dinosaur anymore is because they them spent millions of dollars to make a movie about dinosaurs. Then we find out that one of the main reasons why people don't like Dominion is because of the lack of dinosaur action. I also love JP3 btw.
I dont mind so much the want to use the dinosaurs as weapons only because I feel like that’s exactly how it would be. It gets used alot in movies but honestly I think that’s because that is exactly how humans are. Humans, the gov or any higher ups are always looking for someway to up their game in warfare and if they felt after all these years they had dinosaurs under control, it makes sense they’d eventually test their hand at making them weapons to be used against their enemies. Just shows the greediness in people IMO.
While I do love Chris committing to these reviews in time for the next film, I miss the genre ratings and grading system he has for films. Even if they aren’t in theatres anymore, they’re best to have in all of his reviews regardless.
I. FREAKING. LOVE. THE INDOMINUS! She is the first movie monster/villain to scare the crap out of me I remember the scene where they find out she can camouflage and I had to leave the room because I was getting so scared
I always like Jurassic World, I think it's a great idea to keep the franchise alive. I like the characters of Owen Grady and Claire Dearing because Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard did a great job in this movie, thus including Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson, Omar Sy, and, may in rest in peace, Irrfan Khan. Third favorite Jurassic film, to be honest, the emotions gets me while I hear the end credits song, I think it's a nice rendition to the OG Jurassic Park theme.
Liked the shot of Chris Pratt riding a motorcycle with the Raptors, but also like when the Indominus Rex made a deal with the Raptors against the humans...
Honestly 2015 was a great year for franchise comebacks like Jurassic world, mad max fury road, and the force awakens. I can’t think of any other year where something like this happened and all films were able to recapture the magic of their predecessors.
I just rewatched this one in preparation of Dominion and woah, I liked it so much more now. Idk, it is so much fun and the indominus rex is bad ass. I also weirdly found myself getting hyped when the T-Rex and Blue teamed-up. The og is, of course, the best Jurassic movie, but Jurassic World is the best sequel w the third one in my book!
Yes! My personal Favorite of the Jurassic Films. I love the Original but the Indominous Rex was such a cool design for a Dinosaur let alone the Big Bad. Chris Pratt also does a fantastic job imo. I'd rate this bad boy a solid 8.5/10
I am not ready for that one scene in the next jurassic park movie review chris. I think you know which i am talking about. ☹😭😢. Boat leaving as the one dinosaur roars...
I hear you when it comes to the trainable raptors BUT, we are talking about genetically engineered animals. Key word engineered. They no doubt messed with their genetics to try and make them more docile and receptive to training. Also, that assistant hands down had the most horrific death of anyone In the franchise. Combining both my fear of heights and underwater predators, that would be the last way I’d wanna go out. Also if you look closely and slow the scene down you can see her hand trying to climb out of the mosasaurs mouth.
7:40 personally it dosent bother me because after that in that spin off Netflix animated show, they introduced some sci fi, with chipped and controlled dinosaurs, a futuristic biomes, and those mechanical dog like robots
OOOOOOH YEAAAAHHH!!! 🥳🥳🥳 Edit: In all seriousness, I am someone who wishes that the hybrid dinosaurs could’ve had more development as characters like what the velociraptors got but they barely show how they feel.
Me too. They were the best part of this movie. They gave the balance, had equal impact like Claire and Owen or even better. Those support characters in the next two movies were so bland, had no stories like Zach & Gray had.
Making dinosaurs a weapon makes sense to me becaise in the real world you can't tell me that the government wouldn't try to weaponize them. They definitely would in real life.
Jurassic World is my 3rd favorite in the series and really enjoyable. It's fun and brought back the intense, scary feeling. It has my favorite dino fight with Rexy, Blue, and Mosa against the Indominus. I didn't know how I'd like the pet, doglike Raptors but I did. Indominus Rex is sweet and a great villain. This is a fun entry in the series.
The concept of weaponizing dinosaurs ain't good of an idea at all. But Chris with the Raptors looked cool af. Anyways, that whole sequence, with the Raptors hunting the Indominus Rex, never felt entertaining enough to me. But I do appreciate them bringing up the concept of this into the movie because it shows how wrong it could go and why you shouldn't weaponize the dinos. I thought that it backfiring was a great idea to just throw Hopkins' plan away, essentially. So, all in all, dinos with shooty shoots are good idea when they backfire, giving the idea that it never should've happened in the first place.
Well the difference of the raptors is that they were raised with someone there since birth the ones in Jurassic Park weren’t they were alone so they attack instantly, but the ones raised by Owen know him sometimes natural instincts cause them to turn on some but they will follow commands from him
I think the velociraptors being trained for combat makes sense because that’s why we build robots and are tryna to further robotics. Although it’s wrong it’s something being made to not have to have human soldiers losing lives.
i honestly loved the jurassic world movies despite their flaws 😭 no other media ever makes dinosaur monster movies so fun. sometimes i like seeing casual fictional fun and dinosaurs running amok without looking deep into characters, writing, etc
As always, excellent retro review. And I agree. I don’t know what that assistant deserved to have a death scene like that but it’s brutal. But in a way it’s almost like Jaws
I’m a genuine fan of Jurassic world It’s a fun movie with interesting ideas and concepts While I don’t think the whole divorce stuff was necessary The weaponizing dinosaurs concept kinda works for me because I could actually see this happening if dinosaurs were brought to life and we found we could train them. It’s almost like this is the Ian Malcolm line “you were so preoccupied of if you could you never stopped to think about if you should” and it also shows in the movie with the raptors turning on everyone and killing them
Thank You For Watching!

I really enjoyed this movie when it came out! I really liked the concept of the Park being fully realized and seeing a new genetically made dinosaur is really cool.

I actually genuinely enjoy the Jurassic World movies. Its fit for the new generation while making callbacks to the original trilogy
The writing is atrocious compared to the originals
The 2nd and 3rd movies are complete trash. This is the only good one
This movie will always be special because it's the first (and right now only) Jurassic Park film I saw in a theater or drive-in

I have mixed feelings about this movie, it's cool in the sense of bringing new light to the series, but i feel like it's lacking a lot.
something I loved they did for the film(but many skipped over this) is the fact that they mentioned that the only real relationship the indominus rex had was with the claw that fed her, and when Owen hid under it she didn't tip it over not because of plot armor, but because it was the only thing she was emotionally connected with and respected it since it gave her food, so she left it alone. it wasn't really plot armor, but more development for the dinosaur lol

That's Fair!

I love the relationship Owen and blue have
Fun Fact the baby dinosaurs that were seen hatching at the beginning of the movie were actually the two lndominus Rex's siblings

7:40 personally it dosent bother me because after that in that spin off Netflix animated show, they introduced some sci fi, with chipped and controlled dinosaurs, a futuristic biomes, and those mechanical dog like robots
Can’t wait to see the third and final Jurassic world movie
Did I mention the first movie is the first? Park and World are my favorites!
i love the Jurassic world movies and i cant wait for the 3 one
OOOOOOH YEAAAAHHH!!! 🥳🥳🥳
Edit: In all seriousness, I am someone who wishes that the hybrid dinosaurs could’ve had more development as characters like what the velociraptors got but they barely show how they feel.
How can someone hate on Chris Pratt
I know!!
Hey Chris, I'm down here in Mexico for Las vacaciones and saw the movie earlier than the states and just wanna say: you're in for a hell of a ride!
VERY EXCITED!!!! thank you for not spoiling anything!
@@3CFilms make sure to see it in IMAX or Dolby, I just saw it in digital for the lack of premium formats.
The only good Jurassic sequel so far!
I wish we got to see more of Zach and Grey
"A bird 'pretending' to be a dinosaur"
Birds as part of Dinosauria: ARE WE A JOKE TO YOU?
Lovin these so much
Jurassic World is my 3rd favorite in the series and really enjoyable.
Love these vids

Ahh shit here we go again
Well the difference of the raptors is that they were raised with someone there since birth the ones in Jurassic Park weren’t they were alone so they attack instantly, but the ones raised by Owen know him sometimes natural instincts cause them to turn on some but they will follow commands from him
That wasn’t a raptor in the opening scene it was the indo Rex
I think the velociraptors being trained for combat makes sense because that’s why we build robots and are tryna to further robotics. Although it’s wrong it’s something being made to not have to have human soldiers losing lives.
3:46 R.I.P Irfaan sir 😔
Jurassic World took place in 20 years later, and they still failed to take care of the park because of a single aggressive hybrid escaped.
I’m believe that. Raptors chasing someone on a motorcycle. Happened in the lost world book
Sweet Review Chris! JW Is a great movie in my eyes, easily the series' second best to date only behind the first movie.
i honestly loved the jurassic world movies despite their flaws 😭 no other media ever makes dinosaur monster movies so fun. sometimes i like seeing casual fictional fun and dinosaurs running amok without looking deep into characters, writing, etc
I was 5 when I saw this movie on the theater. That shows how much I loved this franchise.
As always, excellent retro review. And I agree. I don’t know what that assistant deserved to have a death scene like that but it’s brutal. But in a way it’s almost like Jaws
God has really been 7 years since this movie came out
I think those two are baby indominus rex hatching, not raptors.
Maybe the one that hatched before killed her weaker sibling.
Those are indeed baby indoRexes.
It's probably out of nowhere but rest in peace Mr masoni's actor
1) Jurassic park 3
2) Jurassic Park
3) fallen kingdom
4)Jurassic park2
5) Jurassic world
I’m a genuine fan of Jurassic world
It’s a fun movie with interesting ideas and concepts
While I don’t think the whole divorce stuff was necessary
The weaponizing dinosaurs concept kinda works for me because I could actually see this happening if dinosaurs were brought to life and we found we could train them. It’s almost like this is the Ian Malcolm line “you were so preoccupied of if you could you never stopped to think about if you should” and it also shows in the movie with the raptors turning on everyone and killing them
I remember when I saw this movie is when I was in Mexico and it was rated PG and everyone laughed when Lowrey got rejected
