- Sexual consent means that two people are actively willing to engage in a particular sexual behavior and express their consent by saying "Yes! That is ok with me." But just because someone consents to engage in one kind of behavior, doesn't mean they have agreed to engaged in another. You have the right to change your mind about what you want or not want to do at any time!

Hi TheSgtbski! Thank you for your question. Laws about consent exist because people cannot exercise their best judgment when they are drunk, which is why having sex when you and/or your partner is intoxicated is not a good idea.
We often hear that if you have sex with someone who is drunk that's rape. What's closer to the truth is this: If you have sex with a drunk person, in a court of law you cannot say this person consented to sex because an intoxicated person cannot consent to sex. If two drunk people have sex and accuse each other of rape, an investigation would have to happen to figure out who should be charged. It's possible the person who is determined to have initiated sex may be charged with sexual assault.

This is so stupid, if I'm drunk and choose to break into someones house then that's seen as breaking and entering, drunk or not drunk they still treat the trial as a breaking and entering trial, so why is it so different if I CHOOSE to have sex while drunk. I CHOSE to break and enter, I CHOSE to have sex. Drunk or not I gave consent to myself and my partner for both cases so why is intoxicated sex always treated as a sexual assault case when really it's just sex, like any other time.

i agree with the other guy though, why do you not have personal responsibility for your actions when drunk? you face consequences for any other thing you did while drunk. you put your self in that state.

The only way to know for sure if you can kiss your partner or engage in other sexual behaviors with them is to ask them each and every time. This is called getting their consent. It is very common to think that your partner may be into kissing or another sexual behavior by the way they are acting, but just because someone is acting a certain way, it doesn’t necessarily mean they want to engage in a behavior.
People like "Amaze" want you to think that you have to explicitly ask a woman for a kiss before giving her one. This rarely happens in the real world. Most people just feel the moment is right and kiss each other. Many women do not want to be asked, likewise men don't always want to ask. It ruins the romance of the moment. Feminists/Mysandrists jump at the chance to sue men based on this. Haven't you seen the famous Rubiales incident?
