    In flight is my initial plan. Pilots I got from Burbanks House of Hobbies. Doing up a 1/48 scale Showtime 100 flown by Cunningham & Driscoll.

    Great video like your attention to detail. You asked a question about whether a competition judge would look down into the intakes at how the seams were treated. In a word, yes, because in recent years the quality of model kit builds has entered new levels of satisfaction and attention to detail. So, if there are aircraft in the top four that passed all the preliminary quality checks and one builder had paid particular attention to improving intake seams, that build is going to win. I missed part 1 and was just thinking that I hadn't seen a video from you in a while. I've been on hiatus/in home DIY Hell, but I hope to be back to building shortly.

    That is a nice looking kit with very good panel lines. When it comes to filling seams and gaps I just use CA glue now because I find other fillers take ages to dry and almost always shrink a bit. If I have heavy filling to do I use CA with a powder to thicken it. Kicker can be used to harden the CA very rapidly. The issue is that hard CA is harder than the plastic so I find the best way to "sand" it is with needle files but you need good ones, not far eastern cr@p, and I have also got some curved needle files that are very useful. With some magnifying lenses I can target just the CA filler so the plastic and surface detail can be preserved.

    I love the primer coat stage, all the surface detail seems to pop. Nice stash btw. What scale is your F14?.

    Just wanted to make sure this wasn't an error in your speech, you wet sand with isopropyl alcohol?

    • @seanerk5kt9
      @seanerk5kt9  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. It seems to help cut through the CA glue and metallic pigment filler better

    • @cameronfarrell9076
      @cameronfarrell9076 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@seanerk5kt9 interesting, do you think the alcohol is reacting with the pigments or the ca glue itself? ive recently adopted black ca as a filler and have had great results so far, but it's still a pain to sand, might give the alcohol a go.
      Not only this tip, but i've taken a lot of tips from your videos which has increased the quality of my models tenfold, thanks for the videos.
      edit: ive heard the white ca glue from dspiae is easier to sand again, so i might give that a try in the future too.

      @@cameronfarrell9076 I can’t say for sure what is happening if I’m being completely honest. I’m guessing the ipa helps to dissolve the pigment just a tiny bit making sanding quicker. I’m glad you’re able to use some of the tips that have helped me.
