      Two ecosystems I am heavily invested in. I'm just glad I don't have loads of Uad satellites or bought into their multiple interfaces now they have native plugins.

      😂 I'm super invested into the UAD platform. But left pro tools for studio one years ago then went to cubase. Overall, they are all good. Pro tools iss just kinda for the older crowd now that doesn't want to change with the times. It took me forever to leave but when I did a scientific test on the sound engine and was like man it's the same. The only thing I miss is pro tools penciled tool to get rid of pops in the audio.

      Pro tools was the DAW I tried first when moving away from hardware way back in the day, because it was the industry standard...but i never liked it from the start. Now it's basically the only daw i dont use or own. I own cubase 12 pro, studio one 5 pro, bitwig 5, FL studio 20, Ableton 11 light...but the one I use the most happens to be the cheapest on3 of the bunch, Reaper lol. It's just very intuitive and the best for mixing and recording audio. If I'm producing i usually use Maschine because it's so well integrated with komplete 14. But it's a pain when it comes time to transfer into a daw to start recording and mixing. I hope NI will come up with a better way of doing that here with the next iteration.

    Magix Sequoia for mastering hands down. It is the only one that allows you to "slice" different parts of the song into objects, and then apply for each object a different plugin chain, and yet keeping the master plugin chain that applies on the whole song. This allows you to do your mastering chain, and then apply different VST for each sliced part of the song for creative or fixing purpose. This provides an insane level of control.

      Cubase direct offline processing does the exact same thing.

      Take FX in Reaper can do something very similar and seamlessly allows processing on only that exact section.

    • @bakerlefdaoui6801
      @bakerlefdaoui6801 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@PrimaudiaRecord I didn't know about that one. I had to google the offline processing on Cubase even thoe I have some experience with this daw. In fact I was thinking more of Mastering daws like Wavelab (Steinberg) and Pyramix for example. These Daws have specific workflows targeted to mastering and broadcast. From that point of view, when dealing with one audio file that needs quick partionning with crossfades and VST's, in my opinion, the object editor in Sequoia is the simplest, quickest and most efficient. You can apply a VST on One sample of audio quickly, it is that precise. You can fix very brief elements in a master that occurs one time like one loud snare hit or sharp "S". From what I saw you have more steps to achieve the same result on Cubase.

    • @PrimaudiaRecord
      @PrimaudiaRecord 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bakerlefdaoui6801 @bakerlefdaoui6801 I'm not a regular cubase user but I do know that you can smooth transient peaks in cubase directly on the stem with no plugins. Normally I use Reason and there's a few methods for replicating the workflow, all take about 10-25 seconds.
      But my initial response was not about efficiency, it was about possibility.

    Honesrly I do agree with your statment the best daw is the one you know. Personally pro tools has fallen behind with literally every other mature daw. Lots of the fetures that used to make it stand out are now standard and it even falls behind on stuff that others are making a new standards. But my biggest thing is the audio editing in pro tools. I freaking love pro tools audio editing.

      I love BitWig too, but I just can't switch to it. Since Version 1 of BitWig I've had a copy, I"m paying for 5 right now, and I've done quite a few productions in it. But I always shelf it and go back to ableton. Same here i've been on Ableton for like 15 years. There are just a few things I think I am married to inside ableton that no other daw does, and it's been ingrained into my workflow and when that's gone I'm not happy. I wish i could stay with BitWig quite honestly, but it just misses the mark that Ableton does specifically for my approach.

    Steinberg's Nuendo is the competitor to Pro Tools, NOT Cubase. They're BOTH owned by Yamaha, Nuendo was Steinberg's answer to PT as a post production audio tool, marketed as a separate product. Used it first well over a decade ago. Nuendo is awesome but PT Ultimate is too.

    How do you feel about Ableton? I've been Pro Tools certified for 16 years, but i've been doing everything in Ableton for like 14 years of that. I still edit drums and sometimes vocals in Pro Tools and my clients always send me ProTools sessions, but I always stem that out and bring the mix to Ableton. Let me explain why. There is something magical in ableton with putting a plugin on a single track and hitting control+g and having the ability to build an FX chain right there with Dry/Wet and never have to send to a Return/FX Buss. I love that. I love the speed of the automation editing. I can do everything faster for my particular workflow. For me it's Ableton. I've made all my music inside Ableton now for pretty much my entire career, so it's a bias thing i suppose, i'm just already in there so why move it? All my mixing and mastering presets and templates are there. If i were still in ProTools I assume it would be no different, bc with thousands of hours in ProTools also I know that DAW and I know that it's an amazing software. Now isn't that crazy that I too pay for ProTools every month and all i do is Beat Detective, and sometimes vocal comp? Lol

    • @AudioAnimalsStudio
      @AudioAnimalsStudio  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is crazy. Ditch protools and use ableton. You are clearly working more efficiently in it.

    • @Feerlyss
      @Feerlyss 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AudioAnimalsStudio I gotta have that beat detective. Sure I can do the same drum editing in ableton but there a lot more steps to do it. I love pro tools Beat Detective! Plus like I stated I 95% receive a Pro Tools session from the studio I work out of (I mix and master in my home studio). So I gotta keep it for those two reasons lol. It sucks finacially but I suppose the clients pay for it.

    • @AudioAnimalsStudio
      @AudioAnimalsStudio  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Feerlyss yeah I get that. Which is I own a copy of all DAWs so if I ever need yo open session to print stems I can. But these are all perpetual licenses so it's fine if they collect dusk. Protools on subscription would be a different story. I love protools for many reasons but ultimately my workflow is so much faster with it, I could never step away.

  • @MoneyGotDifferent

    A combination of Ableton Live for production and mixing, and Logic for mixing and mastering does the trick for me. Pro Tools might have been the best DAW at a certain point from a mixing and mastering perspective, but nowadays this notion makes no sense. Quite on the contrary, serious and cold analysis of the DAW ecosystem would show that Pro Tools is some good 5 to 10 years behind most mixing oriented DAWs out there. Including Logic. And the price, even for professional studios, is completely insane. 400 pounds a month? Get out of here! It's what I pay for my mortgage.
