Good luck with the future of your beautiful Vanda, I can completely understand your emotional attachment to it as it was a present from your husband. It certainly looks like a healthy plant, fingers crossed it can be a survivor! ❤️🩹
I’m scared to buy a vanda because a lot of them in the shops look kinda beat up also, I dont have a greenhouse or sunroom, oh the joy to own a big sunroom that’s my dream
I would really like to know if your Vanda and the keiki survived. I haven't noticed if you have done an update. Would you please give an update on them?
Vanda orchids do much better in a basket planter with no substrate, the substrate around its base and roots most likely will cause future rot issues and increase the yellowing leaves. They truly do best with the roots exposed to the air collecting humidity and moisture from the air with the air circulation all around it.
My Vandas are doing well potted at the moment. I wouldn't grow them bareroot because I cannot water them very often. However, I do imagine they grow amazingly well in a basket as well.
I believe the bark will provide a good environment for it to grow. It used to have a massive root system, so hopefully this pot will be a small one very soon.

a sunroom or greenhouse isn't really necessary, you just need to give it bright light, which you can give via lights
They grow and bloom by my windowsill in London. You need a bright window or some growing lights. They're very resilient plants :)
I hope it makes it, and good luck with your keiki!😊🪴👍❤️
Thanks. I hope too ❤
