I grabbed the M22 from Huckberry after watching this video. So far it’s my favorite GoRuck tor everyday use. The quick access pocket on the side fits my gloves, beanie, and leatherman with room for a flashlight. In the front pocket I have a large boo boo kit, and a stop the bleed kit with a couple CAT7 tourniquets, two compression bandages, X shears with room for gauze and quick clot. In the lid I’ve got a recharging brick, sunscreen, swim googles, headlamp, and fire starting kit with room to stow my wallet, keys and phone while at the pool. Alternatively, you could throw in a few power bar sized snacks instead of a wallet etc. A 40 ounce single wall Klean Kanteen fits in the water bottle pocket. With the exterior pockets packed out as described above, the main compartment will hold a tarp shelter, ground cover, and jacket with room to spare. The jacket could be easily switch for a light weight sleeping bag and bivy leaving room for a 3L water bladder.
@@spaltmass sorry for the slow response. My experience has been great. I’ve tested it out with a 40lb simple sandbag. It fits perfectly, and the M22 handles the weight fine, so there’s chance I’ll ever overload the bag. I have no issues with the zippers or using the g-hooks to gain access to commonly used items. Just pull down on the lead to reduce the tension on the g-hooks and they open without any issues.
I have one of these and I love it. Is it different from their usual bags?….yes…is it functional for EDC?….yes…is it for everyone?….no….but honestly many bags aren’t. I travel a lot and have a few different GORUCK bags and each has their own purpose. However…this M22 is now my true EDC bag. It’s slimmer profile makes it ideal and for some it has a less “tactical” look IMO….it’s GORUCK, you’ll never go wrong
Nice review, overall looks like a decent EDC bag for people who don't need to carry a larger laptop. If GORUCK releases a larger model that can comfortably carry a 15" laptop I'd consider grabbing one.
Agreed. This could be a great EDC. There is talk of a release later this year. Wonder if they'll squeeze a little more space back there for the larger laptop.
Since this bag is one of the more “wider” ones (14.5” I believe) , do you think that GoRuck will begin to offer a “wider” selection of bags for broader shoulder/ wider back individuals in 2023?
I don’t foresee that being a driving factor for them. I think it just kinda worked for this bag. I do wonder if the success of the M22 is causing them to consider branching out from the GR series.
I thought about getting it at the time but I was a bit iffy on the whole drawstring on the main compartment. I just felt like getting to the main compartment is just another step to my gear, I believe JB_outside said the same thing about it. If they do a 2nd generation like a "M23" and make some adjustments, I'll pick it up for myself or as a gift. Also they've all sold out within like a week of release, so I hope Goruck starts branch out and do other designs instead of the standard goruck aesthetic.
I usually don't cinch it and I often access it via the side access, so the drawstring really isn't an issue for me. My sources confirmed that there will be a release in late 2023, but I don't know if they'll change anything. I also hold dates they give me very loosely.
your review is excellent and pointed out all the features very well. I was reluctant to even try this bag since I have Bullets as my preferred EDC and carryon bags. I got one on the secondary market in pristine condition and I’m very surprised and pleased at its functionality. I was wrong, it’s a great bag.
I’m a huge GR fan so I got the M22. I have to say that this is just not the GR quality that the company became famous for. One zipper was getting caught in material that was just not cut properly, which is a quality control issue. The other zipper got caught in the webbing in the opening, just like you did in the video. This is a design flaw.

Right? Great bag for sure!
hey hows the pack been? are you satisfied? im in the market an everyday pack and dont know if i should wait. the design is just magnificent
@@spaltmass I use it as a climbing gym bag and love it.
Wow, thats your edc load?! I work in a lvl 1 trauma center and have yet to need that many tourniquet’s! I ain’t mad at you though, stop that bleed!

Great feedback. Glad it works for you. I love it and can't wait to see them roll it back out in 2023.
is there an internal ruck plate pocket?
This bag in Heritage would be crazy good.
You’re not wrong.
The only thing I don't like is the flimsy top zip draw part... make it firm like the trakke one
I like that it makes it expandable.
hey any news on production of more of these? peace
No eta, but it will be back eventually.
I'm waiting/hoping for a wolf grey version in the future...
The main thing I want is an M22 in 25L to 30L, with drain holes and a couple rows of webbing on the bottom.
SCARS will add webbing and holes for a price.
Never wanted a water bottle holder... rolls eyes.
:)
Make it a tad bigger, fix the zipper issues and this is my bag. I Love the design
Yeah. Great bag. Size is good for me and haven't had zipper issues since using as a gym bag.

Are the M22 Vietnam made or USA??

Yeah everyone is crying now because they didn’t get one but all they did was bitch about when it dropped.
Saw some drop on Huckberry the other day. If they miss it there, gonna have to wait till late 2023.
The only thing I was complaining about was the boss not giving me any more GORUCK money.

That catch in the video was interesting. I have yet to be able to replicate that in normal daily use.
