    Got the Bullet 15 2 years ago and I love it. Perfect work bag! Just enough for the essentials with some space left over. Worth the price

    Great to see these packs in a one video comparison. Your perspective and thoughts on the use of each is really helpful. Awesome video Danny!

    I was literally looking up GR1 vs GR2 and this is the first video to come up, and only posted 1 hour ago.
    Thanks for the great video! I was browsing the website as you were describing the products and it was very informative. I was indecisive between a GR1 and a GR2, however after the video I think a 26L GR2 will fit my needs as I am really trying to find the one bag that can be my EDC and my travel bag.

      Thank you for watching and that’s awesome to hear the video timing worked out that well! Haha I’m glad it was helpful and I think the gr2 26 is a great choice for that dual use case

    500D saves a lot of weight over 1000D. This is as measured by me on a digital scale.
    GORUCKxHuckberry GR1 26L Slick 500D: 2.59lb (1177g).
    GORUCK GR1 26L MCB 1000D MiV: 3.42lb (1552g).
    The Slick weighs 0.83lb / 24% less.

    I am embarrassed to say I own all and haven't used any. Gotta dial in the pouch situation...and now they just released the new GR1 with the 210 back, which appeals (though am leaning towards more sleek/looks good in multiple settings).
    The new version: I wish they added a quick-access pocket on top and rethought the front slant pocket. I think a top pocket should be a given going forward (nope, you can't add a top pocket via Scars). Heck, I would have taken a key leash! I'm drawn to the GR1 because of length (18") which agrees with my short 17" torso (and 5'6" height). And I really prefer my laptop separated from my tech. Considering an Aer Pro (I think there's a small version). You like anything else for the torso-challenged? P.S. if they rethink (again) the Bullet, I wish they'd add two points at top inside (rather than the D-ring) so one could mount a small pocket that could serve as quick access...and gimme a key leash! Great review as always!

    I have a request. It would be great if you could go over the various material types and what everything means. 1000d vs 1600d for ex. Does the higher number mean stronger materials? It’s all very confusing.

    • @ThorSkin69
      @ThorSkin69 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A quick google will answer these questions for you. Higher the number = thicker material, more durable, more weight

      Don’t know why you have to be snarky. It’s a fair question.

    How do you guys think the Waxed Canvas compares to the 1000D Cordura? I’m struggling to choose between the regular and heritage bags. I don’t ever use the molle so that’s not a factor. Which material is more durable and will last me longer?

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thank you for watching and good question! Both are really durable overall, waxed canvas is a material that has stood the test of time across many different brands, I still feel a little more peace of mind with the cordura, it just feels so rugged, but it is tougher on clothes and takes quite a while for it to break in and feel comfortable

    • @doorbox788
      @doorbox788 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@dannypacks So if you were only going to pick one bag to last you the rest of time, do you think the heritage will last, or would the cordura be the safer bet? Ik people say that even if something goes wrong you can send it to scars, but GoRuck might not always be around to fix it in say 15 years!

    I bought a case logic Uplink backpack.
    I already have The North Face backpack, but I like to get a small one.
    The other brand doesn’t have the design I want, and I finally ended up with buying the Case Logic Uplink for just barley over $30.

    Is the Gr1 in your video the exact same one on their site currently or is yours what some folks call the "OG" version?

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching! I have had my gr1 for a few years, but it’s not the og version I have heard a few others describe and is probably fairly close to what’s on the site now. The one thing g to keep in mind is that it has broken in over time and maybe even stretched a bit since I have used it regularly for rucking

  • @adamhicks24

    Thanks for the great video.
    Besides the GR1-26L being more rectangular and the GR2-26L being square, is there really any difference? Looking at the heritage editions.
    Thanks!

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! The biggest difference between the gr1 and gr2 is that the gr2 has that second clamshell compartment that includes additional organization and a built in field pocket vs the gr1 that just has one main compartment

    • @adamhicks24
      @adamhicks24 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dannypacks awesome, thanks man!
      Would you describe the canvas on the heritage bags as "thin"? I've been reading a lot about how thin it is and that's sort of deterred me. The nutsac rucksack might be more my speed if that's the case

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@adamhicks24 glad to help! The waxed canvas has felt fine but ok the front quick access pocket in particular is a little thin (to the point you can almost see the items inside)

  • @JustFluxz

    I loved the GR2 26L but I just didnt make full use of the organization as I seem to better pack out with a single clamshell compartment. I am thinking I should sell my GR2 26L and get a 21L GR1 to use specifically for a daypack, rucks, and a secondary road trip bag to go with a ULA Ultra Dragonfly. Feels weird getting rid of the bag though since I did like it a lot but I dont think that the bag suits my needs as I was trying to use it a one bag for everything. It was good at many things, but for me not great. The 26L GR2 stuck out farther than I would prefer while rucking, it was too heavy and spacious for a daypack, but was quite a tight fit for 4 day road trips as it mostly just fit clothes and tech but not toiletries. Thoughts? I hate parting ways with items that I like but these bags are quite expensive.

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for watching and definitely a tough choice! I love both the gr1 and the gr2, if it doesn’t feel like the gr2 is working than it might make sense to switch to the gr1? I do prefer the gr1 for edc but if I could only keep one I might lean towards the gr2 particularly the heritage (but that’s just me)

    • @JustFluxz
      @JustFluxz 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@dannypacks the GR2 is such a great bag that it feels weird to not keep and use it but yeah it often feels awkward as im not usually fully packing it out except for when using packing cubes of clothes otherwise my stuff is weighing me back due to the quick access pocket at the top of the second compartment. Plus the bag is quite heavy even while empty.
