I have a GoRuck pack I use mostly for hiking, It's great - but those shoulder straps will take SKIN. On the plus side, I have never had a failure with it, which is more than I can say for other brands. I have expanded it with additional packs via the MOLLE webbing, and love to clip my GPS to the strap webbing with a carabiner. Also use carabiners inside to ensure I never lose my keys. It's a great pack, overall - and the price is reasonable for what you get.
Depends what youre asking for and every case is different. Sometimes people ask and require something particular and they will do what you ask even if it doesnt makes sense to them. The most vocal people online are unsatisfied people while the larger much bigger population of happy customers don't go shouting every five seconds how much they like it.
Better to buy it used. It doesn't matter if its used as usually the backpack would be broken in (more comfortable), still has SCARS (unless its claimed) and will hold up regardless.
They're obviously good bags, but $335 + tax & shipping good? Nah. SCARS has gone down hill in what they will do/cover and the quality of their repairs. Expensive even when compared to other U.S. made bags. The GR1 should be around $200-250, and the GR2 $300. I sent my GR2 back because it was mad uncomfortable and heavy. Sternum straps should be included at the price, and they rarely stock any accessories outside black.
You're way off. My experience w SCARS was they couldn't really fix a gusset on my 15+ year original GR0 so they instead gave me a new one and when I asked about my og because I had sentimental value they then worked with me to rather by the new one at a substantial discount. They essentially replaced a 15 year old bag for nothing. I have Arcteryx, Veilance, Filson, Mission Workshop, and many others.....none have close to that type of warranty. This was in 2022 they did that.
Thanks for watching! Check out the GR1 on Huckberry at go.strayreviews.com/gr1

I think they changed up the nylon on the straps recently to one that's a little easier on the skin. I do appreciate all that MOLLE webbing!
Nice review. I have seen some shoddy repairs lately from Scars…not like they used to be.
That’s a bummer. I hope I never need a repair.

@@j.taveras8447 for holes, they are sticking a piece of tenacious tape on it and calling it fixed.

Great idea!

I agree. At this price point the sternum strap (and maybe some additional accessories) should come with it.

Ah, very cool!
Why mirror yourself? It’s weird.
Yep, I stopped doing that. People found it unsettling.
