Not always, but power is like a magnet for the corrupt. There's a reason over a thousand years later, Cincinatti was named after the Roman hero who was made supreme dictator during an invasion of the Republic and, once the emergency was over, handed back that power to the senate.

@Zaetheus most times in the past of monsters and murderers you find they had a rocky or sometimes downright tumultuous relationship with their mothers.
Lack of a motherly gentleness and kindness turns men into monsters in most(not all) but most cases.

It’s so ironic that even now, centuries later, ppl still falsely confess to crimes they haven’t committed. I’ve seen police interrogation videos where ppl confess then years later DNA clears them. It’s unbelievable what torture does and what ppl will admit to.
So so so sad. I can’t imagine being accused of witchcraft during those times. It’s so scary to even think about. But sadly this still goes on to this day. It’s awful.

Why are UK English speakers so bad at pronouncing words and names from other languages? I notice that consistently with UK narrators vs Austtailian and American narrators that don't just pronounce everything with hard English phonetics. You would think being next to those places they would pronounce them better
