At slamology I got hear 18 of these series 12s !!!!!!!!! It was so loud and so clean all way down to like 10 hz it was still slamming hard bass notes.
That's Chris Lee's truck and its a monster. He'll be at Sundown Show 2018 next weekend playing all day again.

I have 2 of these dream subs already and getting 2 more for a wall. you said 2500 watts and that's what the box says, but I've strapped a pair of 7500s @ 1ohm and they've surely seen 10,000 watts a few times still going strong, but conservatively rated isn't really clear enough for me. clean power, no clipping what can they handle for say 10 minutes or 1 demo? really curious what unofficial will say since I'm just trying to get everything out of them I can.
Need a higher speed shutter camera or change the phone video setting to 60fps for better excursion capture. 🤷🏻♂️

I think you all upped that RMS rating to 3,000. Sticker on my boxes read 2,500 RMS, but small parameters and website read 3,000. Either way great video! I have 5k+ rms to each of mine, and they perform flawlessly!

Has there been any durability issue's with the dimpling (not sure of the correct term?) seen in the surround at those peak excursion levels?
Mark Wentz we've had similar stuff out for 5yrs+ now. There will always be someone who gets something to break but you really gotta use this sub way out of recommendations to do that.
Thank you for the reply, my comment was not meant in any derogatory way (if it was read as so) I was just curious if in your testing it to it's limits which folks who run your gear often do if there had been an issue.

Sundown Audio unofficial yeah I can only imagine. Even 60 FPS cameras make woofers look like crap. I’m gonna have to save up and get one of these! 1k is a hefty price but sundown can definitely take a beating. Would be worth it IMO.

We rate all our subs very conservatively
Can you please explain more in depth of why exactly is it rated 2500w? I would love to hear full technical explanation. Let me guess is long run thermal limit?
What are you using for a test track if you don't mind me asking?
Surround was folding in on itself and wrinkling, what does this do to the sound and woofer, is it bad? Does it need a stiffer material surround beside foam rubber? Thanks for the vids, keep em coming!
The sub is obviously pushed very hard, just a bit more power and it would be bottoming out. In normal conditions the surround shouldn't wrinkle.

With extreme power put to it, like say, 5k per sub, would that 4.25 to 4.5 cu ft recommended box volume decrease? And if so, what air space would you recommend?
That sub is the greatest car sub in the world, anyone who says otherwise is an idiot... i'm sure it would laugh at 6k in a proper box, that's worth the $1,220... no doubt, build quality is second to none, AND IT'S NOT MADE IN FRIGGEN CHINA, it's actually made in America, AND BUILT TO ORDER, simply incredible...

What's your honest opinion on the peak power handling on these bad boys? I know you guys conservatively rate your products but I'm always curious on what it would take to kill this thing (other than customs haha)
We don't rate in "peak" or "max" power and I don't even like discussing it. These subs will handle a lot. We currently have an scv-7500d @ 0.5ohm on each NSv.4 15" in our demo van. They do ok handling that power.

You're gonna want around 4.25-4.5ft net volume for that subwoofer.
Why is the rated power 2500 watts rms on this video when the video with the work truck testing and free air your company says they are 3000 rms so what are they really ?

Parts from China glue from China glued together in America and by Glue together most likely just a soft Parts drop in but I could be wrong it could be separate so you have to blow about five or six pieces together as opposed to just one but at least it's better quality control than buying it pre-made from China

Kerry Bray when I was looking into starting my own audio business last year I learned a lot and they do use one of the better companies over in China for their parts I chose not to go at them because you have to order too much at one time the basically you can either have it built over there and shipped or have all the parts boxed up shipped here on a boat you save about $40 a driver if you do the assembly yourself and basically you just bolt motor on to the frame put the spider with the tensile leads already sewn on in place Slide the voice coil in do your thing put the cone on glue that b**** to put the dust cap on glue that b**** as as well and make sure that they printed the logo properly on the desk app for you cuz I will do that compliments of the build house usually. Point being Ethan if they do glue and screw here in America all the parts come from China everybody's buying from China that's why I refuse to buy an American-made sub don't get me wrong they're better Subs than a mainstream China sub but I'm not going to pay $800 for a name and 30 minutes worth of somebody with a glue gun when I can do it myself

Its a neo motor design. You actually can't see any of the neo magnets. The visible motor is a big steel housing for the neo slugs.

There to damn exspensive. While OTHER companies are trying to bring price down sundown is makeing car audio price's rise again. This happens when you have a brand that everyone goes crazy about. Everyone dreams of haveing it. Well the company knows that so they keep comeing out with the next big thing but for more money. Then it makes the price rize and rize for car audio. Now they are among the best for spl. But youre going to pay for it as well and some of that money is for the name. Put it this way when sundown first came out they were pretty good priced as they got really popular the price keeps riseing. I just hate how these companies take advantage of there popularity by uping the price constantly. You ser the same thing with jl audio. Although jl audio makes a superior subwoofer to sundown as far as spl combined with sq and what a sub was truely ment to be there still not worth the price. Plus these days it seems not to many people care about how good the sub sounds but just how hard it hits. So these companies are able to make a product with way less technoligy involved but charge just as much as a truely technological marval like the w7. My point is there busting our heads but its because we only care about spl. But were paying more for an spl sub then what it cost for a sql sub. Its the same thing u see in phones they keep going up and up. To were now its a $1000 for a flagship phone. But for the same price you can get a really good computer that does way more. Which is why phones were never intended to be the same price as computers. But as long as we keep letting them hustle us and only care about showing off to our buds that we have the new cool product out and keep paying the prices they ask. Well you can exspect prices to keep going up. We forget the reason car audio prices got so cheap is because nobody was paying there ridiculous prices which forced them to adapt and drop prices. I still remember when a regular car cd player was $400 to $500 but then everyone stoped paying the crazy prices so they droped to $80 to $200. But it looks like its back on the rise as companies get crazy popular like this and up the prices.

The answer is both. There are several higher level sub lines that are made in the USA as well as several lower level sub models that are made in China. Look up the build room videos here on this TH-cam channel to see subwoofer models like our X, Z, NightShade, and Team models being built in our build room here in North Carolina.
