1/2/2022 Update: thanks for the comments and views. Im gonna work on bracing the box but the problem is since the the port was built on the bottom theres no way to secure the brace by simple drilling from top and bottom of box. Imma have remove both subs and acrylic and figure a way to drill the brace from inside as well. suggestions are helpful. stay tuned for more flex vids
Running Mechman 240A with XS Power 3400 in front and Cyber 6K in back. All 1/0 Guage with Big 3. 2 Sundown X-12 v.3 wired to 1-Ohm in ported box about 4.3 CF tuned to 32Hz on one Sundown SALT 4K. So far I clamped a max of 1850 Watts with burps between 27-33 Hz. Lowest voltage drops of about 12.0 V while engine running. Has more power to give with some more tweaks. Stay tuned

If you face the port of your box back and put 1 more ply of wood on top or put internal bracing in your box you will get way louder💯

Yes, nice system, but that box needs both bracing and a baffle. Single layer isn't enough for that much power
Looks amazing but the box is flexing a lot and its slowly damaging and will break the subwoofers. Add another baffle

What is a baffle ?
@@jaydenedgar4393 The panel of the box where the speaker mounts to is the baffle. Since that panel has big weakened by cutting a hole for the speaker it is best to double the thickness of wood to add strength. Doing so will strengthen the box resulting in better sound output and also prevent the baffle from flexing and potentially breaking the basket if the speaker.

Brace your box and reinforce it and you will have one hell of a nice little system and maybe add another battery or a cap bank to help boost your voltage up some...
You should brace that box asap.... I see some bad things happening to them subs .. nice setup id hate to see a motor fall off one of them subs..
Some really great equipment! I'm not sure it would be beneficial to brace the box you have vs building something larger and more stable for those subs though. That box looks legit for a less powerful setup but perhaps too small for the pressure these behemoths create. Even sundown recommends 5 CF box and thats just a starting point.....
I'm only finding box specs that recs 2.5 cu ft, it's on down4sound and sundown too

Very nice but you have sub box problem. You must understand you have low end subs for a low end sub box which you do not have. So fix it now or your system will burn make a choice

I decided on adding internal bracing soon. The box is at its max height for my application, cannot add another baffle.
That subwoofers are looking wavy. Looks like they aren’t even screwed in tight. Nice setup though

@@errolsmith5634 nah this box was designed for this application....later down the road im building a completely bigger box strictly for performance. This is one just a "show" box and it still hits pretty hard.
And that's crazy it's flexing the box and the subs are moving sideways that's some power and the voltage is dropping with 2 xs power batteries dam

Is that a sealed box?? If so I’d faced them subs to the back. You’ll need dynomat but it’ll be louder from my experience. But if it is sealed, those subs were designed to be in a ported box if I’m not mistaken. Non the less I love the system. It’s solid 👍🏽
Edit: I just seen at the end the the box would sit up high if you faced them to the back. Leave it as is. Next box I’d get a port and sub rear firing. It’s be louder.
Edit2: I see the port now lol. Like others have said. Get rid of that box flex and face the port to the back. Money!!

Thing gets down. I would put braces left to right and up and down in that though. The box is flexing like crazy and that can cause the coil to shift and blow a woofer.

That baffle flex isn't good for your subs. Is it single or double baffled? I built a box like that but it was double baffled with inch thick baffles. Had zero flex. You need to at least reinforce it.

i think its about 2 inches....i was pushing it close. my box had to be a certain size for my application

Why is your voltage dropping so low? You have something wired wrong. Probably not grounded well. Plus brace the box. After that put your system back on TH-cam. It'll be very impressive.
Nothing's wired wrong. I have 0Ga. OFC throughout including big 3. Subs connect at 1 Ohm load. Lithium battery has 4 grounding points with 0Ga OFC to chasis thats been strip completely of paint with solid bolts and ring terminals. Amp has 2 runs of 0Ga OFC for power and ground directly to Lithium with less than 3ft length. This song is a bass boosted song between 20-40hz and im going full tilt for this demo. Voltage drop is expected at this level. As a daily with normal songs at 80% volume i always stay in the high 13s voltage. Thanks for the comment 👍🏾🔊🙉 Box has been fixed...check new vid 🤙🏾

It’s because he’s mixing the d3400 with the cyber 6k the d3400 is drawing power from the cyber 6k to equal the resting volts with it

Bro you can brace it to the port, just get a 1in wooden dowel from hardware store and measure from face to port then inside the port to exterior wall and brace the port and then brace the face to the port and it will be solid and good to go!
yeah i looked at it and imma have to use threaded rods with a threaded plate on top of the port from inside the box to secure that end....vs dowels i can screw it securely from top of baffle but the bottom of the dowel will be on top of the port and i cant fit a screw driver inside to screw it down and plus the port has a middle brace already also.

Lol yeah i had this customed made more for looks. I know sound is supposed to be heard not seen but coming in at 4.3 cubes with the 3/4" acrylic it still hits pretty hard. My next box is gonna be strictly high output...all birch maybe 6 cubes, triple baffle and reinforced like fort knox 💪🏾🔊🙉

Nice setup man! I run an scv4k on a couple American Bass HD12s. Love it! Almost bought the Xs instead. Curious to hear them in person. Got the 2 HDs for about the same price as one X. So it was an easy choice at the time when I was down on cash.
Yea xs run you more money, unless you find used ones. I have 4 sundown x12 v2 and they smash lows, it just doesn’t seem like the sub is working that hard to get low

@@mikessplboxes7497 had a guy 4 cars ahead of me stop me at the next light to ask what I have too. His jaw dropped when I said two 12s lol. And it’s winter here in Michigan, can’t roll the windows down very far. I’ve kept them the longest of any sub so far over the last 10 years. Box is made by Cherryman Customs out of Tennessee. That’s the most important part and he’s a genius. Sound modeled, double baffle (or more if needed), flush mount, 45ed, pocket joints, the whole 9. About $450 shipped by freight for two 12s ported with MDF. He works with plexi also. Wood terminal cups built in, brass bolts and nuts to finish it off. But those are up to you to acquire. Probably more than you wanted to know, but it always impresses anyone who hears it.

all you talking about box flex. yes its flexing a tiny bit. the framerate on his camera isnt helping any.. in fact it makes it worse. helps to know a little about cameras to understand that many of you see it flex a lot more than what it is in reality
Do your speakers ever get hot ? I’m running 2 on a salt 4 and speakers are getting pretty hot. Not smelly tho.
yeah the magnets get pretty hot. but i never really ran em full tilt to the point of smelling. Theyre beasts....can handle way more power

Well pretty much everything except for the box was bought online from down4soundshop.com. You can see the retail prices on there. Its been almost 2yrs so the prices prolly dropped now and plus i had to pay shipping each time because of Hawaii. Cant remember total over time but im sure it was over $5k after everything said and done. I mean your looking at $3700 already just for the subs($750ea), amp($1400), and lithium battery($800). And dont forget the priceless labor of doing everything myself 😁

They need way more power .. I got 2 on a sound digital 5k and they started starving after breaking in … so I took one out and left it on the 5k by its self almost not a difference it’s handling all 5k by itself .. so my next amp will be the sound digital 10k

Nice setup, I have a salt 4 too and it’s power hungry, I have a cyber 12k and a 160 amp alt and I drop into the low 12s high 11s with it on a heavy song such as Coca Cola, I just ordered a custom mechman 240 amp alt and I should have good voltage
Yeah before i got my 6K i was dropping into 10s and 9s with just the main XS batt and 240 mech. Now with the 6k i barely go below 12s unless i go into clip for like a second or 2 to stunt 😁😁 🔊🙉. Sometimes i play one entire song at full tilt when im in zone then turn it back down to my "regular" volume for a few songs and the recovery is awesome.
But as a daily i can listen at like 80% my max volume all day while staying in the high 13s. That lithium aint no joke

They loving it...can take way more power. I need a bigger box or bigger amp actually. Because of impedance rise im not even getting the full 4k from the amp. A Salt 6 would be perfect. Imma tweak it some more to get as least above 2500 watts
