  • Been some time since we went pure Sunfishing! So that's the plan today, going to a spot we used to frequent in Raw Delta Waters. This spot is known for GREAT days and BAD days!
    I'll mostly be using Jumbo Red Worms for bait. Though I did bring some Lures & Jigs just in case!
    So... Grab a Snack, a Drink and join us on the Fishing Adventure!

    At least you caught some fish, that's all we can ask for sometimes. That is a chill spot though.

      Yeah was a SLOW day for bites! Fair number of fishermen there but not much action. About half of them were after Sunfish, the rest after Golden Shiners. Fairly sure Sunfish are more a Summer/Fall bite... but had been awhile since I went!
      Heh perhaps. The spots touchy as pending on the landowners mood (from what officers & fishermen have said) at times, tickets are handed out. Much if not all is No Parking and parts No Fishing. In addition to Big Rigs frequently coming over that rather small bridge. Alas it's not uncommon to see 45 and 9mm casings strewn about.
      We do know of a few "Chill" Delta Fishing Spots. In California can be hard finding legit Delta Shore fishing spots. Sighs...
      Hope you're enjoying the video(s), tight lines!

      Yeah JU it is... even for Trout we finally started using 2 & 4 pound test. Light Pole and Quick Action. Actually probably more like Ultra Light. Wouldn't suggest hooking one of your Sturgeons on it haha
      Oh JU... two questions buddy.
      1) Keep Sturgeon size this year is 40"-48" correct? Or wrong?
      2) Do you know if Salmon (king) will be open this year?

    There's plenty of bluegils at the first bridge. Cast out towards the 2nd bridge piller. dropshot style 6-8 inches from the bottom.

      You mean first bridge on the main road? Thanks for pointing that out. Drop shot always works for me heh. We started fishing Bluegill & Red Ear with Bobbers. Started getting larger fish with the Drop Shot... it seemed.
      Hope you enjoy the videos!

      I already feel bad enough as we still haven't had time for any of the channels we watch. Still plan on making that time.... as for the Bridge, heh yeah Lea was mad when she seen the video. Always hates when I do reckless things. BUT... saved my rig set up!
      Bites could have been better.... btw how's the Fishing Guide Service going?

      Sorry about that. Our story there is a long one. When we first found the spot we had seen the signs. No parking. We were going to leave but seen so many people fishing there. We talked to a few one saying he's been fishing there around 8 years and never had a problem. Others said a similar thing.
      So we started fishing there some, we have encounter Police twice and DFG once. One time the police just drove in looked around and left. The other time I was fishing on the bridge and the police actually drove on to it. I asked him if he wanted me to not fish there. He said "Personally I don't care. I'm here to make sure no one is doing anything illegal or blocking the roads with their parking. If the owner calls us and requests us to come out, we will and we'll give tickets out."
      When the DFG came, all they were doing was checking people to make sure they're fishing correctly and with license.

    Where can i go? What bridge is this?

    • @hershisadventuresincalifor9725
      @hershisadventuresincalifor9725  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The bridge has no name. I don't know the name of the road. But if you take 8 Mile Road westwards in Stockton you will drive over like 3 bridges. It's down one of those roads think it's 2nd. Some areas have No Parking or No Fishing signs.
      All the way at the end of 8 Mile Road and turn left. All along there you can park and fish. I never seen signs saying you can't. Hope you enjoy the Fishing Videos!

      Sure I might be able to suggest some spots for Bluegill. I wouldn't suggest this spot as we're not supposed to be parking or fishing there. At times the owner will complain, and tickets handed out sometimes. However,
      There is a place called Westgate Landing, between Stockton & Lodi off of Highway 12. If you search in our Playlists on our Channel. You'll see a list for Westgate Landing. Also, another decent place would be American Legion Park in Stockton. Just note that Bluegill can be caught in nearly ALL Delta waters, and a fair number of Lakes. Lodi Lake also has them, though they tend to be smaller there. Let us know if this helps friend, hope you're enjoying our Fishing Videos.

      Well if you're semi local to Stockton perhaps we can hook up for a fishing trip sometime (if you don't mind being in a video). Though I tend to keep it to adults as my little ones have long grown up.
      Also, if you have any more questions feel free to ask. Think we also have a video up on How to Set Up to fish Bluegill. Also a video for How to fish Trout I think.

    Have you fish Lake Camanche before??

    • @hershisadventuresincalifor9725
      @hershisadventuresincalifor9725  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Actually we used to frequent Lake Camanche. Oddly 3-4 years back we used to do VERY well there. Last 3-5 times not quite so much. If you find yourself bored David. We do have "Playlists" on our channel. There is a Playlist for Lake Camanche or try our Trout Fishing Playlist. Let me know if you find them...

    There's no parking sign all over that area. Where did you park at? I see highway patrol or sheriff roll through there a couple of times and started ticketing people

    • @hershisadventuresincalifor9725
      @hershisadventuresincalifor9725  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When I first found that spot I was about to turn around (was less signs then) but noticed there were loads of fishermen. So I asked them, with the signs posted. A few responded with nearly same claim. "we've fished here for many years. most times the officers don't worry about it". Since the signs looked a bit old and run down I figured I'd drop poles some day.
      Over the years found out after speaking to officers on 3 different occasions about that in this area. Was told by one "we mainly come here to make sure no one's breaking the law and everyone is safe. However, when the owner gets annoyed and calls us we will come hand tickets out". Other officers said the same.
      Game Wardens also came by twice. Just checking if everyone is playing clean, seen 2 tickets handed out. There are also days/times when all the farming vehicles stop coming through. Which I recon is the owners main concern.
      Not a place I suggest people fish to be sure... we do know of such spots though 😮

      @KnightOfZero117 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@hershisadventuresincalifor9725 I was there like a year ago and they came by and kicked everyone out saying there's no parking there's sign posted. Now I just park on the side of the road before you get up to the levee and I just walk up and work the area. I be still seeing them roll through and kick everyone out

    • @hershisadventuresincalifor9725
      @hershisadventuresincalifor9725  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah it's possible to get a ticket there, but seems less than likely. When we're there we toss up most respect to the work vehicles trying to get past. Always park clear of obstruction and never leave trash (haha in that spot right?)...
      Actually our recent videos on the Salmon as well as American Legion Park are here in Stockton since you know the area...

    Just use a regular size 10 or 8 hook bro you will get more bites instead of those jig heads I promise you…

      @hershisadventuresincalifor9725  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Right on boss thanks for adding some helpful info! Though if I may, was a LAZY set up day for me heh. We do have a SWEET elaborate set up with use for Bluegill. Also if I may... there was actually about 8 others fishing that day. Everyone seemed to have lack of bites. Many different set up's & baits used.
      Though only been fishing Sunfish for about 3-4 years (hardcore heh) seems they're more active during Summer/Fall months. A good note about simply the small hooks. They can't see the hooks as well, and easy for their small mouth.
      Sounds like you Sunfish also? When they're biting gotta love that rapid action!
      P.S. Hope you enjoyed the video(s)!

    • @roroteam8395
      @roroteam8395 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @hershisadventuresincalifor9725 yeah I usually stop at the dirt road part but, I usually go for stripers and bass. And sometimes bluegills only for bait if I decided to sink a rod. But most of the time I just use lures.

    • @hershisadventuresincalifor9725
      @hershisadventuresincalifor9725  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@roroteam8395 I park in different areas and fished the shorelines as well. Striper & Bass eh? Some good fighting fish!
      Tried using Live Bluegill a few times as bait, not a bite so far. Lure's something we've been using more of. More often then not real meat does the trick. Then again we need to put more time in on the lures.
      You using large Jerkbaits & A-Rigs for the Stripers?

      @hershisadventuresincalifor9725  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Heh on that day maybe I should have. All those fish were released, but didn't use a Live Bluegill bait. It's a crewel thing to do, so I rarely get myself to do it. Think we tired 5 times to date. Three of those times it seems to ran/hid in rocks/trees and we got bad snags. The other times they just wouldn't swim much and got no bite. Tried hooking them in different locations. But... yeah 5 times ain't many tries.
      We hope you're enjoying the video though, I know not every day is a score... was sweet taking a Bluegill break though!

      Funny you mention that David, Lea scolded me when she saw the video last night. Think it's the 3rd or 4th time I've gone under that bridge to free a snag. Once to help a guy pull up this 4 pound Bass.
      Alas I think 9 years of Martial Arts and fair amount of sports kept me in shape/limber. You seen our Snow Skiing Videos? They're on our Vacation Channel (sorry rarely put videos up there. That is about to change!). The channel is called:
      Adventures in California (only like 14 vids up there but have like 5 more to edit/post).
      Btw I survived going under there! Unedited video clip heh.... one day David the error will happen heh.
