    I LOVE that you’re so openly affectionate with your “Boobah”. I’m like that with my two. They have formal names, short names and nicknames. They are always up in my face if they’re not off doing their own thing. My smallest one - LilyBelle, aka Lily, aka Doodlebug - is my little watchdog/alert dog. She’s also “the boss”. She’s all of 7# and just as sassy as they come. Her brother - Teddy, aka TeddyBear, aka BearBear or BupBup - is twice her weight and size and just this quiet, calm, gentle big brother. Until his sister gets him started that is. Then it’s zoomie time all the time.

    • @Thi-Nguyen
      @Thi-Nguyen ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@lloydielloydie821 how’s so? My pups are very affectionate and I kiss their little heads all the time. And they’re very often known to sneak in a kiss on the cheek or arm or hand - or even foot, leg whatever skin is exposed.

      @@lloydielloydie821 People kiss babies which are FULL of nasty germs, I'd rather kiss my clean dog. My dogs are bathed weekly, brushed daily, and wiped down with a damp cloth every time they come inside because I have pollen allergies. They also wear doggy cologne. Their teeth are brushed twice daily and they eat high quality food. My dogs are superior, babies are gross.

    He’s not as refined as your dogs, but we’re getting there! When he was a small puppy, I bought into the “dominance” side of training, and obviously, it didn’t work. Bond-training is way more effective and also rewarding! Both human and dog benefit from it. He’s 8 months old now and we’re working on heel training!

    • @sevenoilrigs
      @sevenoilrigs ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@primalcritters Modern Mal comments on negative reinforcement a bit, and I think it worth thinking about. The more negative reinforcement you have to use, the less skilled you are at training that task. Obviously harder skills (such as civil bites in Modern Mal's case) will be more difficult to teach without negative reinforcement, but you will get an easier training experience in the long term because of the ways you train your dog and they way they look up to you. Both methods have their use, and in Zak George's case he has stated multiple times he is training his dogs for household, and to do tasks that aren't difficult and certainly don't require negative reinforcement.

    • @sevenoilrigs
      @sevenoilrigs ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@primalcritters seems you want to defend corrections more than learn more effective methods. By stating all this you also are against Modern Mals training methods. Most the time in training people see working up to higher stress as "running away". Training takes time, you need to work up to harder things with stress levels the same you would with more difficult tasks. They do this with service training and herd training as well.

    Heh. I have a huge, 170lbs Swissy. He has a formal name; 'Baron Maximus', a short name 'Max' and a nickname, which is his job description as well; He's my little cuddlepup. When I had to start working more hours, I introduced two cats for him to be less lonely. I gave those names; 'Maíq and J'Zargo', which I have never *ever* used outside of filling out the registration with the vet. They're both called Pusspuss, and it works just fine. I can genuinely come home, greet him [for an hour], ask him 'Cuddlepup, where's the pusspuss?' and he'll show me. They're outdoor cats, and he'll track them in a heartbeat. I didn't teach him that, he just understands what I mean.

    • @wulfseig1864
      @wulfseig1864 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do dog training and some dogs are not food motivated. You find what motivates them the most and use that as the reward. My agility dog was motivated by a frisbee. So that became his reward for training. Another one was motivated by me. The bond between us was her motivation. She didn't want anything more than a cuddle for training. Dogs have different personalities and motivations and learn by cause and effect. If I do this then I get my favorite thing. If I don't do it then I get nothing. Hope this helps. Just noticed no one answered your question and wanted to help. 🙂

      My girl is like that. They need to be hungry. Train in the morning and use their breakfast as the training reward. You can also use toys, but they’re not as effective as food.
