Dry Ice Cleaning RAD 1994 Porsche 928 GTS Part 2 - Exhaust Restoration

This is Part 2 where we take on restoring the exhaust to original condition. This car had a strange alteration, someone took the exhaust down and sprayed one resonator black top and bottom. This isn’t a stock condition, but the muffler was in great condition with the OEM fade of metallic grey paint.
First we use Dry Ice to clean the exhaust surface, then we use Ospho and steel wool to polish and seal the exhaust. Opsho is a phosphoric acid that neutralizes rust and protects the metal from rust.

The quintessential GT car, the 928 GTS has a modern exterior even though the design was penned in the mid 70’s. Owners would stuff the hatch full of gear and traverse continents in high-speed long-distance style. With 345HP and a creamy automatic gearbox, the pilot could easily cover lots of ground.
By 1993, the pride of the 928 range was this GTS model. Distinguished by wide rear arches and the full width PORSCHE reflector, true autophiles knew this 928 tucked 345HP under the bonnet and was something not to tangle with on the highway.
