I agree with you though I would say the cinematography and directing are are what truly makes the movie shine, the writing is surprisingly clunky from a guy who is usually a great writer.
No way bro. I mean, there aren't many good films anymore so maybe you're not too far off. The film does make a few points fairly well, and JP is great in the red glasses scene. Overall I rate this film as boilerplate, because it doesnt have any new takes on anything. It does show some things not everyone thinks about enough, so that's is good. I liked Plemons, and Sami's character.
ex machina is my favorite movie and annihilation is up there. but civil war confused me....not as much as MEN but still. who is who? there are army men that seem to be on both sides. then there are everyday people with guns too. i know who the president seems like so who are those soldiers?
