Not sure if you don't already know this, but a trick to paint red Lips is to only paint the lower lip. It gives the full effect of red lips without it looking like they are making a kiss mouth.
As a Dark Eldar Player who loves the wych Cults i have to say: Really nice paintjob and i love the conversion.
Also you should give the old Wyches a try. They are a bit dated but are very nice to kitbash and if you give them the not screaming heads they hold up quite well.
+1 for old wyches, the old drukhari kits are all kitbash heaven! and there's a good chance you will want multiple squads of wyches, so at least one can be the official sculpts. some of the heads are questionable but if you use the good ones they turn out well.
There is no way Miniac will have 2000 points done in time, he must have meant December 2042, not December 2024 for the match.

I've definitely given Miniac flak the whole year for not painting as much as Jay. Vince, Squidmar, and maybe Jon are the only major youtube mini painters cable of keeping up with how much Jay can paint at any given time.

4:10, Lilith canonically has hooks, pins and other stuff like that under her suit piercing her flesh. It’s not an enhancing drug stimulant, she just enjoys the pain and finds it relaxing.

For the love of all that is holy Jay, please go look at Artel W’s Dark Eldar proxies. By far the best sculpted and cast 32mm models I’ve ever had the pleasure of owning.
And they have a sale right now on many models!!
I really like their Dark Eldar designs, I just wish they sold STLs.
What I learned about models from Jay's videos:
Crunchy = bad
Crispy = good
Fine also = bad.
Squidmar dig is a nice touch haha

Its amazing how much visual work a simple arm twist and some armor clean-up can do. Lily looks way better now, imo. As for the Wytches, i think you should try to kitbash them with 3 sets. The "current" Wyches, Khaine girls and a sprinkle of Escher girls for some heads and weapon arms (mostly the melee arms and maybe some bodies). Think of the positive, it gives you conversion points for your "friendly" competition, you get unique models AND you dont have to wait for GW's ultimate "yeah we're not doing this" reveal.

I kitbashed warcry models to make my wyches. I used the corvus cabal as a base as my drukhari have a bird motif, splintered fang would probably work better if you want a more standard drukhari look.
That's just awesome! The visor is matte now that the Kabalite is dead! PERFECT!

Love the videos. I only got into Warhammer and miniatures over the last few years. Been watching your channel for a min and love everything from the kit bashing, painting, and product reviews that I have seen here. Hoping to get some painting supplies and start building and painting some models. Love the hobby so far and enjoying your videos. Keep up the good work.
I do actually think the old sculpt is superior, and I did actually own it, both in metal and Finecast. Metal obviously was the way to go, good luck ever finding one now though.

What about looking towards Necromunda... There's some pretty cool girls there and with a bit of kitbashing, they could pass for drukarii

For Wytch proxies, maybe the mandrakes could work? They have that mystic, magic ninja kinda vibe going on that could work well.

Now that you mention Dark Eldar needing a whole range, I actually would like to see them get that for the 11th ed launch faction. Seems the only way they could get a lot with how slow GW are working on the Eldar range currently. That or actually give Harlequins a model range. There doesnt really seem to be anything else of significance that could use a major update aside from maybe Orks but theyve gotten updates and plenty of new models since 8th ed. However, knowing GW,that could happen still seeing as how popular Orks are and GW's secret love for them
Looking forward to more Eldar, especially wyches. The AoS wyches have amazing heads/hair, they have to be in there somehow (they aren't as long as Liliths, so no worries about competing).
Turbo Dork Tin Star us an unbelievably bright silver color. It's a translucent metallic but I've found doing a couple of coats over another silver color gives this bright, shiny metallic color. It's very nice.
She came out great but I think you should have done her clothes in the colors of your army in the pink and blue with gold and silver trim
note. i have the old model in metal and the new in plastic. metal was far superior.
Every edition has some main xenos antagonist, the last being necrons and tyranids. The next one, given the narrative, are going to be dark eldar
You should definitely go with the Daughter of Khaine kitbash imo. Their models are awesome and generally carry a good Drukhari type of vibe. Maybe kitbashing them with the official Wyches kit could offer the best of both worlds? Good fidelity and proportions and accuracy, just a thought.

I have two friends that play Tyranids, so my I got an extra copy of the leviathan terminator captain with the magazine that came out, just for the base, so I can swap him onto whatever dead Tyranid colour is the right one for that battle. Will use the rest of said model for kitbashing something at some point in the next 20 years.
A really cool box could be an updated dark eldar range and then the rest of the votann range, perfect fomo for james workshop.
OG 2000 metal release is still my favourite version.
LMAO the ultimate BM, incredible model! For Wytches it might be worth considering some 3rd party sculptors, I know there are several who have put out pretty much full ranges of the missing Drukhari stuff!

Kitbash those Daughters of Kain models :) They are a lovely kit for bashing.
Today I learned you can thin Tamiya Putty with Plastic Glue. That is amazing.
Look into the minis from raging heroes. They have an amazing range of Wytches.
For your Wyches I’d definitely go the kitbashing the daughters of Khaine route. Their style is very similar and they are probably a lot more receptive to kitbashes than alternatives. Even if Dark Eldar are refreshed, you’ve still got a unit that is definitively yours.
3D printing is another route but often they don’t nail the aesthetic 100% and even then you’re just painting up someone else’s proxies which is probably not as exciting in terms of potential TH-cam content.
That’s crazy how many models it will take to complete a 2k DE army…. Now I’m worried how much I will have to do for my army can’t wait to see the battle in December!
What about using the Sisters Of Slaughter from AoS for the Wyches? They have a similar pose/aesthetic, and they don’t have the giant hair you’d chop off anyway

DOK would look really nice converted for your army, I think. They are very lean and with less armor bits, like your Lilith conversion.

Might be fun to challenge somebody to a series of games. Instead of points, whatever you can perfect paint within the timeframe. If just a wash etc it'll have to sit out for the next game etc

i doubt that GW will redo wyches this edition, i just want them to give us current minis for as much stuff as possible that is currently unavailable. especially because anything they DON'T do that for will probably go to legends. i really hope court of the archon survives haha.
also as an aside, i got a box of AOS witch aelves just for kitbashing purposes, and so far i used a few for kitbashed corsairs (i play ynnari) and they worked GREAT. they have small fiddly bits so you have to be careful, but they end up looking awesome. the rest of the ones in the box are destined to become wyches, and i think they're gonna look cool af. (i also turned a couple of chaos cultists i found for cheap in my LGS loose mini bin, into male wyches. just scrape off all the chaos iconography and give them drukhari weapons and heads, and they look perfect!)
mimicing scott's paint job for dead scott was a nice touch
I think the Wyches still hold up nicely compared to other older models in the game, although I've mashed mine up with some Sisters Of Slaughter from AoS for Hekatrix Bloodbrides. I also think the High Gladiatrix would make a fine Succubus conversion.
I decided to use Drukhari as a kitbash exercise as well. Khainites is a good choice, though I chose to go with Escher Clan models, so they've got this kind of punk vibe.

Daughters of Kaine aren't that complicated to convert. I'm doing that at the moment.
Old Lilith was in metal to (I got her in metal and finecast).
Even if they do drop new minis, what's the chance that they're actually good? Just kitbash to get something you like.
