The Machenike K500 is an excellent mechanical keyboard for those who are looking for something compact but does not want losing a lot of keys along the way. The positioning of the arrow keys and numpad is ideal with some minor changes compared to the full sized layout most are used to. But I think, with some practice, anyone would come to appreciate this keyboard and the compact layout it offers. In terms of performance and quality, as always Machenike never fails to impress. The build quality and typing experience from this keyboard is well deserving of its pricetag of 1899 pesos.

Well I sure do hope it gets there haha. Btw, the keyboard has a wireless version and uses a 5-pin hotswap socket. I think it was on sale on their Lazada store last 11.11 but try checking that out too.

Hi, I just bought the keyboard recently and I was trying to remove the switches but they feel like they’re stuck, the only I manage to get a switch out is from the spacebar, so I was wondering if I should get a new switch puller or not because the one came with it feels very tedious or if it’s just a me problem 😅. Hello, please i need help with this keyboard and here's my issue:
The keyboard has two del. keys, one on the main keyboard part(i don't know what to call this section) and the other on the Num. section. Now, the one on the main keyboard part doesn't work as a delete key but the symbols there works when typing so i think the key isn't actually faulty, the second del. key on the Num. section works but only when i have Num. Lock turned off, and this whole process is quite stressful just because i need to delete a file or something.
Now, i also figured the PgUp and PgDn button on the main keyboard behaves this way too whereby the symbols work on these keys but they don't actually work when i need them to PgUp and PgDn. Meanwhile, the PgUp and PgDn button on the Num. Section only works when I have Num. Lock turned off too.
Please advice me on what to do, thanks a lot.

Hey guys, I'm going to post a question here to see if anyone can help me. I have a K500W (tri mode) and due to lack of knowledge, I installed the K500 software (wired only) on my notebook. As a result, my K500W lost wireless functions and now behaves like a K500. Does anybody know how to solve this?

It's already modded 2months after I got it. So it's not using the stock switches anymore. It's still being used by my sister at this point with lubed akko lavander switches and a couple of mods like clipped stabilizers, foam and tape mod.

a lots of options but gateron are the easiest ones to find lubed 😣 are they compatible too?!
nope. Gateron copper pins are slightly thicker than usual pins of other switches. But meh, Akko switches are slowly overtaking them in terms of quality and price. People hardly look into Gateron switches these days.
There are techniques in making Gateron switches fit on the tighter outemu hotswap sockets but it could prove tidious for those who just want to simply put new switches in their keyboards. Look into Akko Jelly switches. They're much better..I actually built a GMMK pro with Akko jelly black switches..there's a soundtest vid here in this channel :)

I did a two layer tape mod and replaced the keycaps with double shot pbt. They sound really good after a relatively cheap mod. You should try it out.

What's better this keyboard or redragon fizz k617
I've been looking to try mechanical keyboards and the multitude of switches scares me to just buy without trying them online, so far you have the most comprehensive information about the keyboards. Especially the KRO and polling rate... After researching switches online, I'm thinking between red or brown switches... I'm looking to game and general use on it... Which one should I pick??
Switches are all a matter of preference. Trying them is the best thing to do for keyboard hobbyists. Reviews can get you as much info about them but they're pretty much all subjective(just like this one). But yeah since you're asking me, I'd say red coz browns feel scratchy. I believe a lot of reviewers would agree to this but again, that's subjective.
Can I plug it into my Mac? And still use the software?
How do you change the back lights exactly? Fn + Alt for the effects then Fn + Ctrl for the color? I tried it but it doesn't work in mine. Idk if it's a user error thingy or the keyboard is really defective.

Great review ! Thanks for informing about the keycaps not being standard Ansi layout and sizes. It's gonna be my first mechanical keyboard. I'd like to try modding the spacebar stabilizers and switches. Since I don't know much about custop keyboards, will I have to unscrew everything to be able to put on like durock v2 stabilizers ? Can't wait for your video modding this keyboard !
U have to unscrew everything including the screws at the back behind the sticker at the bottom. You can't use screw in stabilizers here so make sure you use plate mounted ones

Update. So I thought there was a screw at the back..there wasn't lol. The plate is clipped to the base so it's a bit hard to pull out...but it's manageable. I just painted the case..hopefully I can finish the mod this weekend and upload the video xD

Any brand will do. Just be sure to take note that the set would have the modifier keys I mentioned in this review video.

Yes. However, it's limited to 3-pin switches. You can't put Gateron or other 5-pin switches on this.

Yeah it is. Just be certain about the modifier keys I mentioned in the review..if you buy sets, make sure they are more than 108 keys

@@bagqins uhmmm to make it simpler..108 key sets lack the modifier keys for this keyboard..so you should go for the 115 keys above which should have the modifier keys for the right shift, alt,fn and Ctrl. Hope this helps :)

The keyboard in this vid is not wireless. But I know there's a wireless version of this one which I have not reviewed yet.
Do you know how to record a macro using just the keyboard? I want to use it for work and i cant install the program on the work pc. TIA
You will have to use the software to use the macro feature unfortunately. The keyboard does not have an onboard memory to support on-the-fly macro recording.

I haven't seen a keyboard with a built-in on the fly macro for that price. Most keyboards sporting that feature are in the 2k+ pricerange.

It should work like most USB keyboards. But as far as I know, they do not have a software for Mac and there are no Mac modifier keys that come with the keyboard. So some keys like the windows key will not work right away.
Hello, can I ask how you remove the switches? Because I'm scared to damage it since it is really hard to take/pull the switches out
using the switch puller, hook the prongs underneath the clips on the top and bottom of the switch, then kinda rock 'em out back and forth, gradually increasing force as you do. Just take your time, and you'll do OK.
Honestly the the board is not very friendly for switch removals. I damaged few of my switches but they still work. Just cosmetic damage from what I could tell.

Maybe you're pertaining to the wireless version. I believe the wireless version which is more expensive uses 5-pin hotswap sockets

Depends on how you use it. My sister is using it now..though..it's already modded with some nice cherry blossom keycaps and lubed akko lavenders..I also lubed and tuned the stabs.

Haven't tried it coz I don't own one. AFAIK, any USB keyboards work on Mac. It's just that some buttons may need to be remapped and the windows button doesn't work

Stabilizers - clip the legs and tune it with some krytox and dielectric grease. Balance mo din ung wires. Sa keycap nmn, pansin ko maganda tunog ng mga Cherry profile PBT. Just search youtube you'll find tons of videos. Walang surefire way sa gnun kc depende tlaga sau kung pano mo matotono ung stabilizers and spacebar. Ung iba nilalagyan ng palaman ung spacebar nila sa ilalim kpag feel nila mxado hollow ung tunog.

That appears to be non-hotswap so I would need to de-solder the switches first before I can mod it. And uhhhh I don't have funds yet to spare for a new keyboard. I just bought switches and stabs for modding the K500 for my next content :)

For the profile, it uses the OEM profile. I mentioned it in the vid :)

no prob. Most prebuilts..especially the cheap ones like this come with OEM profile keycaps. I plan to mod this soon and have bought a set of Cherry profile keycaps. Just saving up for some Akko Ocean Blue switches xD
