  • We travelled over the Pennines to Warrington to take part in this flat and well-organised parkrun. We found out lots of interesting and off-beat facts about this Cheshire (or should that be Lancashire) town.
So enjoy the parkrun footage and learn a few things I bet you never knew!

Thanks for the posting the video of my local parkrun. Sorry it was raining on the day you visited.
Additional fun fact for you. The Warrington parkrun route takes in part of the old Black Bear canal which used to connect the river Mersey to the Manchester ship canal. The Black Bear canal was filled in during the 1970's. It was the out and back section of the course that goes under the three bridges.

Ah sorry. We often don't decide until the night before. Well hopefully you know at least one thing new about the town!

@tworunningbrooms I learnt about a couple of famous people I didn't know were from here which was very interesting. And saw Nicola briefly as you ran past her. She's a bit of a local parkrun celebrity and inspiration to so many people! Really loved how informative the video was on the town, its a shame you couldn't see the Manchester ship canal because of the trees, it actually loops around that entire park!

When I’m cleaning windows. You have to be of a certain age to probably get that 😂

Had to search my archive to remember this course. I didn’t remember it from just watching the video, that’s worrying 😂 I thought the darts sensation Luke ‘the Nike’ Littler was from Warrington but turns out he only lives there and was born in Runcorn. Well done on another video 👍

Hey I’m in London for the Saucony London 10km next weekend. Park run suggestions for Saturday?

Well it's a very big city. But if at all possible I'd get to Bushy Park to run the very first parkrun course.
Dulwich looks pleasant. We've only done two London parkruns including Bushy.

Nice one both, appreciated the IKEA fact in particular, never thought I was going to get out of the one in Glasgow one I visited once, nightmare. Excellent historical nuggets as always too. Hope the track race went well

Thanks Ben. Yes Gold medal and mentioned in the Sunday Times, of all places.
