People commenting only about the pizza clearly missed the actual point. This prison has an amazing rehabilitation programme that in my opinion should be implemented in all correctional facilities. The point of incarceration is not only punitive but also to rehabilitate and to reintroduce a person back into society as a full fledged, skilled human being who can be a productive member of society. Yes, the clip was funny. Yes, Ronny is hilarious. And yes, deep dish isn't pizza, it's a damn tomato and cheese pie. But my takeaway was the program implemented at Cook County prison and I applaud them for it.
Read about the Prison Industrial Complex and how America uses that for PROFIT. There's no altruism or wanting to bestow inmates with "skills" for rehab. Its all about the money. And so the insane number of incarcerations isn't even surprising.

@@ZainabeMahdi Offcourse giving prisoners skills they can use to earn a "honest livin" after jail is in some way "selfish", it is, like with many intelligent investments, an win win deal. The prisoner wins, societie wins. Societie would off course win even more if people learned something that keeps them out of prison.
It's amazing that prisoners are teaching Ronnie "that's not how you deal with conflict".

Philipp Nero It is a lot about 40% normally. Though I try to absolutely minimise my food waste and waste in general. I am trying to transition to zero waste overall but my food waste is almost zero already. I already eat leftovers before cooking anything else.

Having rehabilitation programms is actaully normal in central and northern europe. It's better to give peope perspective than to just punnish them and leading them to go back to jail shortly after they get out.

Why are they teaching prisoners useless things like chess and gardening. Teach them a trade. Plumbing, electrician work, retail so they can get jobs when they get out of the pen
