Nice to see, that you’re still in love with the little Sony. When I‘m traveling the RX100VII is my main camera and I combine it with an A7RI + 50mm F1.8. It’s a small and lightweight combo and the image quality from the RX is more than enough. Especially today, where we have more AI possibilities to get even more out of these little machines. I think the EVF is quite accurate. You just have to know what your camera is capable off. It’s the same with a ff camera, I think.
Thats a great combo. you can crop in quite a bit with the A7R. I thought I would be tired of it but the more I use it the more I like it. Almost everywhere I go, people are so intrigued by it.
Whoa. another video for the RX100 VII? Awesome! I really love how you explain your thoughts when shooting. I learned a thing or two from it. Great shots as always. Thank you so much for making this video! I think I'll get one soon even if it feels so old and that micro USB! I don't think I'll wait for the mark 8. It'll be more expensive anyway. 🙂
My pleasure!! glad you enjoyed it!! I am making a few more videos about this camera still as I still have a 3 part series with B&H and Sony. so stay tuned for those. and also come to the workshop! its free and I will be sharing more about how to get the most out the RX100 as well as how I edit :)
Hi love the e video! Would you say this is better than just a newer iPhone pro when it comes to image quality? I’m considering getting an rx100 for my next vacation (amateur photographer)
Hey! thank you! I dont have the latest iphone, but I am willing to bet that for photography its much better to use the RX100 VII for more than a few reasons. I did a whole event with Sony and B&H of why that is. Check it out and let me know if that helps :) You can find the recording of that event here: th-cam.com/video/x5SprUt-YiI/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=B%26HEventSpace
If you are worried about using the camera, we are doing part 2 of that youtube series on October 8th. And I will going over the technical aspect of how I use the camera. It will be live on bh event space youtube: th-cam.com/video/AB6xyS-zrI8/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=B%26HEventSpace
Great video !! How’s the photo quality night quality? I’m using a Ricoh gr3 now, and although the quality is amazing , I don’t like having a fixed focal length as it is difficult to compose shots as I am a beginner as well
Thank you!! 🙏🏼 Night quality is kinda horrible 😂 buuuutt I have been dropping the shutter a lot and the stabilization in the camera has been holding up pretty well, there is also a built in flash that im trying to utilize more often. I will say the auto focus does struggle a bit in lowlight Having the flexibility of a zoom range is great to be honest, worth it for me. 🤷🏻♂️ Maybe il make a video about using the RX100 at night in NYC 🤔
I cant say for sure, I haven't tested out the video features as much, but I am currently working on making an entire short film with the RX100 VII. I will be sure to send the link here once thats out. I might be also doing an entire event with B&H and Sony diving deeper into the video features of the RX100 VII.
Hello! I didnt get it too wet and I wasnt at the coldest time there(could definitely get a lot colder) and it was fine. I got it a bit wet near waterfalls but this camera is definitely not weather sealed.
I love hearing this question!! it indicates to me that my editing is more or less natural and not aggressive haha. But yes to answer your question these are all RAW photos that have been edited. if you are curious to how I edit, the 3rd event from the B&H/Sony series will be all about how I edit my photos from the RX100. Its free and I will announce it on my instagram @maherzi_
@@maherzi_ that’s cool. I’m asking cause with my current camera (Fuji) I just shoot JPEGs and edit those in LR since I don’t enjoy the amount of space raw photos take up on hard drives (+ my computer works slower when I’m editing raws) so wanted to hear how the JPEGs were coming out of this camera?
@@Rasmus98 Oh... I personally never shoot JPEG just because I want to be able to squeeze the most information possible out of that small sensor. Most of my RAW files are about 21MB. Not Ideal but its a lot less space than my full frame camera. I am also shooting Adobe RGB.
Its hard to quantify the amount of editing but they were only adjusted in lightroom. The 3rd/last session of the series I am doing with B&H and Sony will actually be all about how I edit most of my photos from the RX100. Stay tuned for that!
I dont have any experience with the Ricoh GR but looking at the specs. Id say if you are okay with having a fixed lens, then most likely Ricoh is a better option since you are getting an APS-C sensor that is similar to the one you have on the a6100. However if you prefer having the flexibility of a zoom range from 24-200mm you are better off with the RX100 even though the sensor is smaller. Another plus for the RX100 is it will help very familiar to use coming from the Somy a6100. I have the sony a6000 and its pretty much the exact same menu.
what a beautifully made video bro this entire video was a great watch great job!
Means a lot. Glad you enjoyed it!

As they say, the best camera is the one you have with you! If you ask me, the smaller the camera the better especially when travelling and hiking.
Agreed 😤

How’s the video quality, especially compared to a pro iPhones (log footage) ?

Hi. I’m planning to buy a point & shoot for everest base camp trek. How does the rx100m7 handle the cold & wet of iceland?

I mean they are not mutually exclusive and there are definitely more expensive ones out there 🤷🏻♂️ Its all relative at the end of the day.
