@4:23 you could have played Bxe5 followed by Re1, or Be3 followed by d4 seems to be even better option locking the king from going to the safer side (abc)
@Tony Nguyen He would win a rook in your line so that’s nice. He was more worried about bishop blocking with bishop f1 which would result in him either backing off the attack or losing a queen.
can someone explain 8 ...h7 to me? i never understand this move. it doesn't break the pin on the knight, doesn't it just weaken the kingside? please help
I believe it is just to push the bishop back or make it trade knight for bishop. I may he wrong though. You may also be able to trap their bishop later on if they retreat.
Then Kd2 - Qf4 check + Ke1 - Qg3 + Rf2 and you're in the same position as in the timestamp but taking the bishop out that was blocking the rook in d1. Now you can Bxf2 check. Then if Ke2 it's mate with Qe3. So Kd2 - Be3 check. + Kd3 is mate with Bc5. So Ke2 - Qxf2, checkmate. And after all this brain gymnastic I noticed that after the first thing you said (Qe3), white best move isn't Re2 but Ne2, remember you're losing material, so trading for white is just good at this point. (I don't even playing chess, so why am I doing this? Pls, send help, also, read this knowing I'm just a random dude on the Internet)

I need to panic more when under 10 seconds. I flag pretty often when there’s a 1s or 2s increment
Try to practice on lower time controls: 1+0, 2+1, 3+0, 5+0, etc. It really helped me improve my instinctual calculation.

King takes bishop, knight checks the king, queen takes the bishop, then it is winnable for black
@@salmanelbadessi1922 thanks
It's called the Greek Gift. A very common sacrifice in chess after the king castles with the bishop and knight developed to their usual squares.
@@ScifiGemini0616Alt if Kg3 (which is the best move), g5 traps the bishop on h4. Black gets his piece back and white's king is on g3

5:07 isn't there like Qe3+ Re2 - Qg1+ Bf1 Qxf1+ and then the attack continues?
Maybe 25. Qf2 for white? Black is down a rook too.
Then Kd2 - Qf4 check + Ke1 - Qg3 + Rf2 and you're in the same position as in the timestamp but taking the bishop out that was blocking the rook in d1.
