My man you played well. It's psychological hard when you know you're playing a GM. That knight on the B file could have been a monster. But of course a GM knows how to defuse 99.9% of these fires. It's an instructive game where it allowed Danya to show how he punished under-developed, over extended setups. Also the logic on the D rook being a poor defender and the white king being out of square isn't something a 1500 can even notice every time. Lots of gold to be found in this game. You'll only improve after this. (I'm 1600 ish on Lichess).
Nothing to shame bro, there was always a psychological effect when you play a titled player. I myself losed against titled players in a position where stockfish says it's +3 or +4.
Don't be ashamed, atleast you didn't used engine like losers does.
You did great, it's more difficult than people realize to play while knowing your opponent is a GM. Keep at it friend :)
What i learned from this lesson :
1. A new trap
2. It's always better to defend a pawn with a pawn.
3. Queen and rook are the worst pieces to defend something.
4. Always develop pieces with tempo if possible.

Your usage of "always" twice there is probably a little strong. The more I watch Danya the more I see that very rarely do you "always" do anything. I would maybe say "generally" instead. By conceptualizing it as "always" you make it much harder for yourself to spot the edge cases where the advice falls through. You don't want to exclude possibilities from your mind just because generally you do something else.

Many years ago in NYC, we called that the Cambridge Springs trap. I caught someone in it in the National Championships at the McAlpin Hotel about 50 years ago. I vaguely recall he was about a 1300-1400 USCF.

While the QGD is always very instructional, I‘d love to see you handle a Semi-Slav in the future. While it‘s solid, I often struggle in these vanilla ice cream positions as I‘m simply not happy without winning chances
The semi-slav is wild and crazy if you're playing it well. The QGD in particular is the one that gives you the vanilla ice cream positions. Perhaps you're not fighting hard enough to activate your c8 bishop by ripping open the center?
@@michaelf8221 well I‘m not much of a d5 player, I prefer the King‘s Indian against d4 but I‘m trying to soup up my repertoire and the Semi-Slav just strikes me as something safe and solid.

The QGD Janowski variations are quite spicy for black. Check them out. And Cambridge Springs has some fun traps that many players fall into.

This is a great video, does anyone have a favorite resource for how to attack with white in QGD positions?
This is a good video detailing the concept of how to utilize a minority attack. Neither of the games use the QGD, but the minority attack is one of the most common ways for white to play in QGD positions after black trades his d-pawn for white’s c-pawn. Notably, play is usually different in QGD positions involving an isolated queen’s pawn (IQP), but you should be able to find other videos from this source on that as well. th-cam.com/video/qfy86Wm1Waw/w-d-xo.html
But frankly the attacking concepts for white will largely depend on how the pawn structure transforms over the course of the game. A good resource for understanding the concepts of play-style for different structures is a book (and Chessable course, I believe) called Chess Structures: A Grandmaster Guide by Mauricio Flores Rios. On my phone stockfish, the position is -2.5-ish for black after Nb5 if black plays e5. When Bb4+ is played, it laxes to -.13. So stockfish did laugh at you daniel. It laughed at all of us.
No idea why your phone says that, black looks pretty far ahead to me and has multiple ways to win. I like Qb6 to setup Nd4 to crush the dark squares. The queens knight and bishop, the center pawns, and the queen can all coordinate this dark square attack and white has to get more dark square control. If Rxd4 or Nxd4, the capturing piece becomes a target which only makes things worse. If e3, white gets a free pawn and to force black to lose castling with bb4+. If a3, e5 can cause whites king knight to run out of moves. Nf3 is solid but doesn't solve the combined threats of Nd4/Bb4+/d3/Qxf7.

Same, seemed like the best move to me too. Checked with the engine afterwards to make sure I wasn't going crazy and it gives black a very comfortable advantage of -5 after 7....e5 compared to -3.5 after 7...Bb4+, which is obviously still winning but not as much as and far more complicated than the simple e5.
That was an abrupt end. Otherwise it would be an even more interesting game.

Teaching ability and skill level gotham does not even come close to danya. Entertainment is subjective and I have to say that Gotham is very successful for a reason but I think his content is geared more towards the younger audience
