In this video, I play against the (A.I.) 17-year-old Beth Harmon with an ELO level of 2400, from the popular Netflix Series #QueensGambit. I was thrilled to unleash the Queen's Gambit with the white pieces and Beth replied with a semislav variation. The middlegame featured a highly strategic battle, where one positional mistake led to the eventual outcome much later on in the endgame.

@@jq8164 orthodox line of QGD is declining the gambit with 2...e6. Semi-slav is technically a variation of the QGD, but not the main line.

Because as a beginner it is much easier to follow your thoughts here, whereas in the blitz games i often dont understand why certain moves are played. Eric competes pretty regularly with human players at the 2400+ level but for whatever reason he was a bit nervous at the beginning of this video playing this engine. I found that a bit amusing. Awesome game Eric and very instructional.

They were all safe premoves that worked if she always played the best king move. If she doesnt, it still doesnt hang pieces, just might look silly because he could advance his Mate in x faster.

This was an awesome video. That is really interesting how early you were able to see your win condition. That's what I often struggle with in chess, so this helped a lot.

It’s a little difficult to follow the move history because of the scroll position but at 23 did you consider Be2 to help activate the Nf3 that isn’t contributing much? That IMO brings it into the queenside fight. Would love to hear your thoughts on that.

I like how more and more chess personalities are playing against engines. Yes, we already know that the best engines are better than the best humans, but it's interesting to see how far the humans can go up the ladder before it becomes to difficult. And props to the programmers of these new bots, a lot of them play pretty indistinguishable from human play.
