📝 When Ford quotes range with E-Transit, it tests at 50% payload. Mercedes-Benz follows a procedure similar to the EPA testing procedure. What does that mean? YMMV, of course. Additionally, the E-Transit test was at GVWR maximum, this test was not.

I just bought a new 2023 E Transit, and I love it. I'm an electrical contractor in Miami, Florida. I charge my E Transit to 80%, and that range is more than enough. Also, because everyone is skeptical of an EV van, I was able to get it at almost $20k off.

You paid what it is worth. It's a suitable vehicle for a small minority of drivers.

@tommynickels4570 As a vehicle, it's worth more than that. The power and tech are way better than what you get on a regular xl transit. If you live and work on a city, it's perfectly fine. I would recommend it over a gas or diesel van 10/10

@@tommynickels4570 its a kick ass vehicle for many people that work (and dont have to drive cross country). The rear axle on this thing is massive and compares to a humvee h1 rear transaxle. Almost 10k lbs gvwr. It Can haul more than a ton of cargo and Power a job site. Needs ZERO motor maintenance and runs on very low cost fuel.

Every EV review must include charging curve, like this video, good job!

Thanks! 👍 We do it when we can, but time doesn't always permit.

Here in hot & Flat Florida the eSprinter is a great van for local business, especially if you have solar up top.

When will we see the 144" in the US and how much better will it do? Can the OEM AC can cool the cab and 1/2 the cargo area ? If so for how many hours while parked overnight?

I saw this van with digital rear view mirror I thought it was on all of them.

“You’ll never outrun a camero” - completely forgetting that no van has ever outrun a camero. 🤦‍♂️

Waiting for these to get closer to 400 mile range and be able to add 100 miles in 15 minutes. But my 64k question is about using the OEM A/C while parked overnight. How much KWH would it use and can it cool/ventilate 2/3 of the cargo area on the smaller/lower van? I don't need it ice cold, but am in Florida. I have this idea for an EV Van conversion where I open no holes in the roof, but rather rely on the A/C vents, fans and compressor to ventilate and cool the van. In 1/3 back half of the van I would have a hot space I would have all my appliances with a strong fans vent out the sides to push hot air out and pull cooler air from the OEM A/C set to fresh air mode. Free of holes, I would like to place a single 500 watt solar panel over the entire living space of the van to help maintain my battery while in the sun. I would insulate the ceiling and walls with 2 inch of foam.

So you wouldn't make a random delivery up a mountain, but you would definitely play basketball because that makes more logical sense. Got it.

Give it sometime and wait for a used one to pop up, a few used low mileage e-Transits are at the $25k IRS threshold for the tax credit.

I like the e-Sprinter fortunately i cant seem to justify the prices. I think in the 81kWh version we have in the EU it's a bit better to compare to the e-Transit. A lot is extra on these MB things that you expect to have standard.
Charging is all about the curve, as you show!

Price is skyhigh, range is bad, and charging speed is a joke.

If its designed for deliveries why would you tow a trailer?

We've seen UPS trucks locally towing trailers.
