Thank you for the detailed breakdown! Question: does directly ordering a Sprinter have much of a difference in the final price the buyer pays? Can one expect to pay MSRP? The cost of these vans are high, and seeing dealer pricing 10k over MSRP seems common.
I ordered mine about 3 months ago for a May build, I had similar thoughts until I actually ordered it.... A lot of the features you can order a la Carte and save LOADS of money. When you order, there are MANY more options that the website doesnt allow you to see( like a high output alternator). I have also heard of people having trouble with distronic cruise control. As in, when it rains, cruise control is COMPLETELY disabled because of sensor quality issues. My dealer AND current owners suggested not to get it... Lane assist is also garbage. My advice, dont select a package just because its easy. You may find the one thing you really want costs $200, but the whole package costs $1700. Why waste money?!
Great video! Does the new engine have the same restriction on biodiesel use? The current 6 cylinder is limited to occasional use of B05 if I remember correctly.
I just picked my 2023 in November of 2022. I was lucky that the van I wanted, was specked out for me by one of the Builder’s at the dealer. It came in (144” high roof) 1 week after I test drove the 170” wheel base. Now I’m being told they are not making any currently for the foreseeable future 🤷
Ha! Certain things hold up van production! We ordered the 2022 over a year ago and at the time, we were told there would be a longer wait fir the 2023 AWD. Production in Germany ended up putting 5 shiploads of AWD 2023s in front of the batch of 2022s (ours was in there), and 2023s have started showing up before our 2022!
Thanks for this great overview. Stan had recommended to get the maximum rear stabilizer bar, but seems that did not come up as an option as you went through the web site. Any idea on how to select that for your van? Or would you do an aftermarket suspension upgrade instead. Thanks!
Is there a 17” wheel 33or35” tire combination combination that can be used in all 7 positions on the 3500 DRW? I.e. 2 fronts, 2 inside rears, two outside rears and spare?
The part that is confusing is that when you add something like "Bling Spot Assist" it says it's removing The other features that you previously clicked and wanted. So you're going to lose out on the other stuff that you want?
4 or more people? We have a 170 for two and our beagle. But clearly the 144 is vastly more popular. And remember 3500 is needed if you want full tanks (black, grey, etc). Seems most small van builders don’t opt for black tank
It's the dealers that make this process very difficult and unpredictable. None will take an order, and rather wait for their allocation from Mercedes-Benz. Once they get their allocation, they will offer it to you with crazy markups. Here you are waiting a year, thinking you would get a van at a predetermined price.
170 Extended has something stupid like 15 inches added, not a few feet. Don't make your van fugly and give it the worst departure angle just to have the biggest.
Apparently there are some combos, like getting both front wheels in the air, that will shut down all drive power. It isn't as smart as a Subaru. No excuse.
Thank you! The most important element is that the "AC bracket" can be a second alternator. This is a must IMHO. Especially if going the 24 volt route,

Will a dealer allow you to buy options a la carte? ie add the 10" media screen but no lane keeping assist or comfort package.
Brilliant… exactly what I was needing to get this project on the road…. Thanks
Great! Best of luck.
In regards to which van is better, walk behind service center see how many van are there and what the hourly labor rate is.
How can you take orders on 2024 if you don’t have the price on the 2024?
Great video! Does the new engine have the same restriction on biodiesel use? The current 6 cylinder is limited to occasional use of B05 if I remember correctly.
Thanks for the walk through

when are they taking orders for Esprinter?
What a wonderful detailed breakdown, thank you!

Crazy!
Does carplay work?
Its july 2023, my local MB dealer has 9 on the lot

Does Santa Rosa MBZ add a dealer markup?
Not if you’re local.
Do the heated comfort seats swivel?
Yes they do as long as you get the swivel
option.
How do we order options not listed on the website, like dual sliding doors or OEM L-track?
You’ll have to place the order with a dealer. They have those options in their system.
Big question is can you turn a 2500 into a 3,500 after the fact with aftermarket parts ?
The part that is confusing is that when you add something like "Bling Spot Assist" it says it's removing The other features that you previously clicked and wanted. So you're going to lose out on the other stuff that you want?
87k miles now never did a trip reset I am getting 24.8 mpg avg
So they’re taking orders but don’t know the price? Does Mercedes charge over msrp for factory orders?
Some dealers are charging over MSRP. Mercedes-Benz of Santa Rosa has been the lowest over MSRP of any dealer I know of.

Can you get 3500 in 4x4?
Is there an option to paint the black bumper and the strip along the van length the same color as the vehicle?
Santa Rosa ... where?
Norcal
I took look 2023 sprinter van . They ask me 10,000 market adjustment fee. Is that crazy ?

Try MB Draper

well said😂
72 k for a stripped 4 cylinder “foreign” van ? Before the overweighted build ? hard pass
Certainly doesn’t sound like it’s the right path for you.
Can always buy used or a promaster
Ok but I want the e sprinter
Doesn't want to get 3500xd because of price but reccommends all the upgrades. Sure bud.
