    Best instructional video for replacing this part! I would recommend it to anyone who has a Toyota tundra because this part will probably fail you at some point lol . Mechanic is also saying that the hose to the driver side air intake valve is bad too but I think I’ll just do the passenger side first and go from there. Thanks again buddy 👍🏼

      Glad to hear that! Sometimes it takes time for the codes to clear. I would remove the battery terminal for a little while or reset/clear codes via an OBD2 scanner. If the light returns in a day or 2 then you may have some other underlying issue. Hope this helps!

      Exactly, Mr barry there is no code for the pump, only I have two code p2440 Valve Stuck Open Bank 1
      and p2442 Valve Stuck Open Bank 2 but the dealership's spare parts department told me that the valves and the pump come together, and if I want to get the pump later, the price will be more.
      Because in their view, all three pieces must be replaced

    The valve is corroded because The secondary air pump is sucking water into the system, this is a common problem and the pumps are not cheap and the issue will come back again due to poor design. Some year models actually have a recall but for some reason the 2012 was not included. I fought this for months and ended up bypassing the system with a plug and play part from Hewitt industries. I did this five years ago, never had another issue but if you are in a state that requires emission inspections this fix will not fly. You will see this issue again! The pumps only run for 45 seconds when the engine is started to induce fresh air into the catalytic converter to pass emission requirements, once the cat reaches temp there is no need for the pumps to run. The pumps are in the front wheel wells and the poor design allows them to suck water in when you drive in the rain.

    Would a faulty valve be the reason why there’s water in the system? I removed the vacuum pump and there was a lot of water in it.

    2/7/24 part is $500 O.E.M. which is a bit cheaper than aftermarket. Great video thanks.

      I assume aftermarket is cheaper. I bought brand new OEM Toyota Denso on eBay for $164.28 tax and shipping included. I use Chinese Dorman in the past and they are junk.

    Question : I have a 2012 Tacoma 2.7l . Could i just remove and replace the top piece ? Leaving the lower body in place ?

      That should also work ..ive seen people do that .

      And it is a LOT easier. You can also try cleaning the top pieces if they are not too far gone.

    I replaced both secondary injection pumps and check valve, and my Sequoia is still in limp mode. Dealership can't even clear the code. Any ideas? Sensor?

    This problem has been the biggest pain in the butt! I’ve already had all this replaced twice. I’m now having the problem again. Any ideas as to what could be going on? I’m considering this bypass kit I’ve heard a lot of people talk about. My mechanics gonna look into it. Just hate to go that route now after spending nearly $3000 to get it fixed the right way.

      I wouldn't do a bypass kit bc it can cause serious issue like keep your vehicle in limp mode to where you can't go above certain speeds and it cost over $400 most places. There is a pump and fan that is on the front passenger side behind the front wheel well. Some owner drill a small hole below the fans black collecting ducts just look it up. This area is prone to collection water and causing water issues in the fan and the part that I changed out. Hope this helps!

    my truck throw out p2442 code and it shows both bank 1 and bank 2 valve stuck , is it same way to fix ?

    My 2012 has the same problem I switched out that same part I also disconnected the battery , so when I was done working on it got it back together the truck ran fine until the next couple days the same code popped back up now I’m stumped

    You can clean these and put them back in service if they are not too deteriorated. Also, why not just replace the top pieces with the new parts rather than removing the whole part.
