Probably takes a great love of birds to avoid getting annoyed if they're randomly talking at 2 AM night after night.
Birds sleep as much as 12 hours per night, so this is unlikely. Cockatiels are known for having night terrors, though. This can often be remedied by allowing the bird to sleep outside of its cage apparently.

I always hated the idea of ASMR, but talking parrots make my heart so happy, I can listen for hours (whilst my sister went "omg, this is cute but the sounds are so annoying" after watching a vid I send her. she thinks I am mad xD)

Bloob is adorable, however, Hamlet is the cutest IRN on social media & is fun loving & a sweet talker. I’ve kept watch waiting to hear from his original owner stopping in to say hello & give some background information on him.
Our Dude is also a rescue, 1 year as of June 1st, that he’s been in our home. His owner was elderly & passed away 3 years ago, was willed to her daughter, who had someone else care for Dude for nearly a year before coming to MD, & then with the daughter for nearly a year, before he was gifted to me as a birthday present when I turned him down for a year. The new owner wanted him to be in a home that he could be out & enjoy his life as he had been cage kept his entire 11 years with his original owner due to her health conditions & age. Thankfully I did receive his birth certificate or hatch date cards, all his medical, every thing that came with Dude, (who was formerly named Sweet Boy), & changed by the daughter since the husband didn’t care for him or want to call him by that name so he became “Dude”. They absolutely learn & pick up about every thing they hear, in as many voices as you can imagine. He knows his name is Dude now & calls himself Dude & asks himself questions all the time about his name. Although Dude was also caged full time, he was very much loved and taken care of. His diet, (formerly only seed & now Tops organic parrot food after Harrison’s he turned down), demeanor, & overall personality, loves head scratches & lovings, a bird who’s been abused doesn’t warm to humans, if ever, and are entirely different in demeanor. Birds don’t ever forget what’s been done to them. The lady who gave him to me, her husband, was a heavy drinker, demons from 8 tours of duty in Iraq, Afghanistan, & 30 years in the military as a decorated war veteran, was rough around the edges with severe PTSD, & would try to connect with Dude while he was drinking & Dude didn’t like that at all, & would bite him immediately, so he had to be rehomed. This week he will have visits from his previous care givers who took care of him after he lost his owner to her passing, until he arrived at his home he was willed too. Thankfully, I do know the whole history of my boy, and has made a great deal of difference in my bonding with him & knowing what he’s experienced in his life of 14 years.

I wonder if you showed yours all these different birds and specifically ringnecks talking if that might get him talking. I did hear that males or more likely to talk than females. I don’t know what sex your bird is but I think the males ring comes in after about a year or two and that’s how you determine their sex. (?) Personally, I find their voices irritating after a period of time lol.😂🥴 I think I must be the only person on earth that isn’t a big fan of their voices. What I do appreciate about them though is, that it is literally their own voice. They sound like every other ringneck that talks. They are not aping, their humans voices. I did hear about a ringneck in India solving a murder. So it’s obvious they have some parroting ability or communication skills. It was a woman who was murdered by her nephew. I’m sure if you Google it you’ll find the story.

When my African Grey Shasa was young, I wanted to teach her "tickle, tickle". When she'd hang on her cage bars I'd say "I see a parrot belly! Tickle, tickle!" Eventually she decided she'd do her own spin on it, and would yell "Parrot belly! Parrot BELLIEEEEE!" 😂
