Highly recommend Omar's, I had a Caique for several years, loved the bird, her name was Fruitloop! She was crazy funny! Unfortunately because of work requirements I could not keep her, after 6 years of ownership Omar's bought her back, obviously for a reduced price but that was ok because I know she would be treated very well. I am now retired and looking for a bird. Considering a Ringneck. Thanks for the informative video. Another reason I would recommend Omar's is the high quality of their birds and they boarder birds if you go on vacation or any other reason, great shop.
Something else will probably come along to make you give up a future bird (because you self admittedly are the type that gives bonded birds up). Maybe a cat or dog is better for you-or watch more TV/Movies.
What do you do with a ringneck male who isn’t tame? My father supposedly obtained a female ringneck from a friend sometime before 2015 which I named SweetPea. Several months later, she developed a black ring around her neck and bow tie. Suddenly, my dad’s feathered girl was a male! Regardless, he was supposed to be his pet but my mother & I spent time singing & teaching him to speak. The problem was, my father and I were unable to handle him though he was allegedly hand reared. He would chew my dad’s fingers but could not be caught. SweetPea seemed to bond with my dad but would only communicate with my mom. He learned a variety of phrases, mimicking my voice, and screeched at earshattering decibels if not given attention. I had several cats at the time and all of them were terrified and left him alone. In 2015, my mom passed of lung cancer and the morning she died, Pea stopped talking and hasn’t uttered a word since. 😢 My dad mostly ignored Pea following that time and I now care for him. I feed, water, provide toys, change his paper, sing, & talk to him but he any time I get close to the bars of his birdhouse he bites the hellations out of my fingers drawing blood. For several years now he’s been “dancing” at me for which I initially didn’t realize the meaning. He’s at least 7 years old and still bluffing! I’ve tried earning his trust by feeding him his pellets through the cage bars or sharing my food with him-to no avail. I can’t stick my hand in the birdhouse to pet or clean or repair his toys without losing a pint of blood. Idk what to do. I have a dog, 2 cats, & a turtle besides. I give him as much attention as I’m able though it never seems enough. How do I establish a relationship with him? He’s the most cantankerous creature I’ve ever known yet I love him and want him to be happy. Any advice?
I have trained Jack Russell dogs at all ages and stages of behavior issues, lol, so I have tons of patience! My own dog knew 187 tricks, she was a miniature black and white RCA jack - she lived for 16 years... Today I have a cervil- main coon cross, he's old and so I have been researching doing bird rescue, volunteering and thinking about which birds to offer a home to... I have a 3 bedroom house, with a large yard, I'm at home 24/7, rarely leave my house as most items can be purchased online and delivered lol... My children are adults and have their own lives...basically I'm looking for companionship- as I'm done with men...( been single 7 years now and I'm done making sandwiches for zero benefit- farting and burping does not count... besides, I'm an old lady, lol)
I have a ring neck that's about 1.5 years old. I adopted em from a guy who gave me bad vibes. The coat is dark, extremely timid and quiet. It's tough to work on him but I notice every day or week he seems to be a bit more relaxed. Today he was singing for about 10 min. Also I think he's getting the hint that thee perch stick I use to train is not going to harm him. I have faith that in a month or so. He might get used to me and allow me to get clos. Using the stick. I have gotten him to stand on my shoulders. But he's really scared it doesn't really move. He also jumped off my shoulder to take a poop. So I think he kinda likes me or he would have shit on me
I was the lucky owner of an Albino Ringneck ,who was the most adorable and cuddly bird I ever had.Ive had budgies, lovebirds and loved them all,but my ring neck was the the most affectionate of them all.Loud ,yes lol but as far as temperament went and closeness to me ,was amazing.I could handle her ,never got bitten, others did lol ,loved being with me and I did with her, after she died I vowed Id never have any other bird, but have now adopted a green cheeked conure, arriving tomorrow lol x
there are colonies of Green indian ring necks living wild in the Uk,so they are hardy in more ways than one ,here in the Uk it can pretty cold in the Winter . London has thousands living free there ,probably from escaped pets originally.
My ring neck is VERY Loud, lol came to me at 3mos old, so far still sweet and will step up and hang out on my shoulder,no talking yet, he just turned a year old, I'm hoping he starts talking soon. He is so sweet, no bluffing yet, except he will only come out of his cage by himself, once hes out he'll step up no problem
My India Elizabeth passed due to cancer exacly 2 years ago. She was a shelter pet, having been flying loose. It's stll weird without her. While cutting up fruit or pouring cereal for myself, I think, and some for India...oh, wait... I still think of myself as an IRP owner.
Me who began with an Indian ringneck as the first bird 😐😐😐😐😐. I don't regret it though at all. One of my bird got so aggressive in the her bluffing stage but after it went away she became the most loving of my other birds who might still be in bluffing. 😩 They are so freaking cute.
IRN is my first bird too and I really don't know what to do with them I have to of them they are 9 month old and I don't know where bluffing stage will start do you know when it is ? And I really need help they are so fearfull and scared but I love them
I have had a indian ringneck for almost 4 years now and let me tell you they are a trial for everybody, they go through a bluffing periode where they test you for dominance(4-12 months) but after that they are a beautiful bird to have as a pet, my IRN is named Jade (she is Jade green hense the name)
I consider myself skilled with birds and damn, the bluffing phase was hecking difficult even with all preparations. The birb turns into complete spawn of Satan suddenly, biting, screaming, destroying stuff, all that jazz. I've used trick which could be called "no fear" - not even flinching when Sammy bit me, sometimes even offering my hand to get bitten more, showing her I'm not gonna get bullied easily. She always lost interest after few bites, but my hands looked like I was dealing with eagle and not a parakeet :D took few months of heavenly patience with her, but now she's happy and calm birb
We have a lot of feral ringnecks around. They are not as cowardly as monk parakeet, but rather somewhat cautious. They can hold their own against cats. Technically they are pests but they are too cute.
And they have a seriously loud scream. Mine only pretends to bite but Ive seen some bad bites of them your right you have to put in the work but it's very rewarding.. Also there's quite a few wild ones now in the UK if you keep your eyes open you will see them. I suspect they were once pets but have been let loose beacuse of there loud scream
i find it so funny that i found Clint's channel as i was starting to get into reptiles and now i'm wanting a bird and here you are doing the same thing and i love it thank you
i just got one from a friend, who got one from someone else, when he got it, he had no tail or many feathers, he now has a tail and most feathers have come back, he is 7-9 years old i forget what he said, he always hides/runs away when i go near the cage, i talk to him and ask how he is etc, i give him treats, How long should i wait before i can let him out of his cage? "hoping to put additional perches up in my room so he can fly around", I just dont know when i should try him out of his cage. incase he wont go back in.
Ours is surprisingly quiet, he talks a lot, gives tons of kisses even from far away, is very affectionate, loves to eat and is super funny, is chummy with our Tiel but hates his Moustached Parakeet cousin lol smh
@@avarz2889 well the bluffing isn't as servere in males sometimes you may never even realise that he went through it sometimes it can be mild sometimes well
How would you say they compare to a green cheek conure aftwr the bluffing phase that is I have a town home end unit well installed walls and again I'm on the end my neighbors don't even hear my gcc unless I have the windows up and then she blends in to sll the other birds outside
Completely different personality than a GCC. I'm in a detached +2,000 square foot house and my neighbors can hear my Indian Ringneck when he's in a shrieking mood.
My choice came down to a Green Cheek or an Indian Ringneck. Since Conures were readily available and there were no local breeders of Ringnecks, I chose Sky. My Pineapple Green Cheek Conure.
I've owned both Green Cheek Conures and Indian Ringneck. The Green Cheek Conure is definitely a better choice for 95% of people seeking a small parrot.
@@colbycovington5464 "Better" is impossible to define. But, I'd recommend a Green Cheek Conure far more than a Ringneck for an inexperienced bird owner.

This is REALLY helpful! I really want a Pionus… I’ve had Budgies and a Cockatiel in the past so I’m not 💯 new but I had them when I was younger so it’s still going to be a relatively new experience getting a new bird as an adult. I’m wanting a Pionus because I think the size is about perfect and all my research (including your videos) has said they’re relatively laid back and quiet for a parrot. I went into an exotic bird shop and they tried selling me on a Ring Neck instead saying they were comparable in temperament… Don’t get me wrong, I’m not gonna hate on Ring Necks based on this video or anything else but I know what I’m looking for in a parrot for my life style and this doesn’t sound like it.
I'm a new IRN owner, I have two actually, blue male and female from different homes. They get along great however they are not tame at all. Very scared when you approach the cage not to mention my hand when I have to go in the cage to clean or feed them.I've only had them for a month but I know I have to be patient. I find the male to be very anxious and flutter s back in forth in the cage while the female seems calmer. Im thinking his reactions with influence the female to be anxious and scared also. Would this be the buffering stage that was mentioned in the video? I have no accurate history on the conditions these birds lived in before me. Any advice would be appreciated in raising two IRN together.

Rule of thumb is not to mix parrots in the same cage, let alone different species. If a fight breaks out, you got a trapped parrot. I would recommend always keeping parrots caged separately.

@@analisec9465 sheesh they shouldn't cost that much. Maybe it has to do with your import laws? I'm from Kuwait btw and birds don't cost that much from the importers, even the good ones in Europe. Omg!! 😭 I'm so glad I found this video! I was seriously about to call the bird store about my female IRN thinking she hated me. Turns out she's bluffing,so I'm gonna try to work thru this!❤️
How is she now?
So I think he kinda likes me or he would have shit on me
I've been waiting for this one!! 😄
I was the lucky owner of an Albino Ringneck ,who was the most adorable and cuddly bird I ever had.Ive had budgies, lovebirds and loved them all,but my ring neck was the the most affectionate of them all.Loud ,yes lol but as far as temperament went and closeness to me ,was amazing.I could handle her ,never got bitten, others did lol ,loved being with me and I did with her, after she died I vowed Id never have any other bird, but have now adopted a green cheeked conure, arriving tomorrow lol x
there are colonies of Green indian ring necks living wild in the Uk,so they are
hardy in more ways than one ,here in the Uk it can pretty cold in the Winter .
London has thousands living free there ,probably from escaped pets originally.
Wow thx. Love all your bird vis but have been waiting for this one. Terrific info.. Sooooo adorable. You are doing such a great job. 😉😊
Thanks so much 😊
My ring neck is VERY Loud, lol came to me at 3mos old, so far still sweet and will step up and hang out on my shoulder,no talking yet, he just turned a year old, I'm hoping he starts talking soon.
Bluffing stage time isn’t bad at all. Hell, my kids have all been assholes all their lives😂
😂😂😂😂❤
Love IRN parrots. I am just waiting for the day that I can actually hold mine.
And I really need help they are so fearfull and scared but I love them
You're so good at this!! Big fan of your vibe and perspective
Indian Ringneck Parrots are very beautiful and exotic. They’re great talkers and also tropical.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have had a indian ringneck for almost 4 years now and let me tell you they are a trial for everybody, they go through a bluffing periode where they test you for dominance(4-12 months) but after that they are a beautiful bird to have as a pet, my IRN is named Jade (she is Jade green hense the name)
i have kept them for more than 20 years, the most beautiful and best pet to keep. Highly recommended
How much do they poop on you
I consider myself skilled with birds and damn, the bluffing phase was hecking difficult even with all preparations.
The cats are the pests. They do so much damage to native wildlife that they really should be euthanized enmass like they're doing now in Australia.
Yes, their screaming will clear out an entire house.
The ring neck in his hand: Okay but just cudle me now human
i find it so funny that i found Clint's channel as i was starting to get into reptiles and now i'm wanting a bird and here you are doing the same thing and i love it thank you
Can you please do a review of the Eclectus soon? I love your reviews.
Def want to if I get ahold of one

i just got one from a friend, who got one from someone else, when he got it, he had no tail or many feathers, he now has a tail and most feathers have come back, he is 7-9 years old i forget what he said, he always hides/runs away when i go near the cage, i talk to him and ask how he is etc, i give him treats, How long should i wait before i can let him out of his cage? "hoping to put additional perches up in my room so he can fly around", I just dont know when i should try him out of his cage. incase he wont go back in.
Yes yes yes, let's goooooo, iv been waiting so long for this
Ours is surprisingly quiet, he talks a lot, gives tons of kisses even from far away, is very affectionate, loves to eat and is super funny, is chummy with our Tiel but hates his Moustached Parakeet cousin lol smh
I have a bright blue ringneck who was rehomed to me 3 and a half years ago and now I can’t imagine life without my little buddy
I’ve been deciding between a Hahn’s and a Indian ringneck
That's a toughie tbh. Both great birds.
Hahns ez they're more expensive other than that it's a clear W for hahns
I know I’ve been wanting a Hahn’s more only because of the Indian ringneck a bluffing stage
@@avarz2889 well the bluffing isn't as servere in males sometimes you may never even realise that he went through it sometimes it can be mild sometimes well
@@adityabhardwaj2237 yah I guess only the future will tell what bird I get
How would you say they compare to a green cheek conure aftwr the bluffing phase that is I have a town home end unit well installed walls and again I'm on the end my neighbors don't even hear my gcc unless I have the windows up and then she blends in to sll the other birds outside
Compare in personality? IRN are not cuddly, but definitely fun, inquisitive, and friendly.
@@Fivesaflock yeah rhats what I mean personality I want affectionate
Completely different personality than a GCC. I'm in a detached +2,000 square foot house and my neighbors can hear my Indian Ringneck when he's in a shrieking mood.
My choice came down to a Green Cheek or an Indian Ringneck. Since Conures were readily available and there were no local breeders of Ringnecks, I chose Sky. My Pineapple Green Cheek Conure.
I've owned both Green Cheek Conures and Indian Ringneck. The Green Cheek Conure is definitely a better choice for 95% of people seeking a small parrot.
@@convincedquakerWhich one do you think is better?
@@colbycovington5464 "Better" is impossible to define. But, I'd recommend a Green Cheek Conure far more than a Ringneck for an inexperienced bird owner.
$500 is pretty expensive for a green one. Where I live the cost about €50 also they fly in the wild here
these are sometimes kept as aviary birds so they won't be tamed babies, hence why they're so cheap.
They one I'm looking at from a local pet shop, hand fed, 3 months old is $1300 for the bird & cage. I'm supposed to go see him tomorrow! Any thoughts???
@@connielancaster1573 I hope the bird is healthy and will have a good time with you

hello my friend! Please help me with your opinion.I want to buy an indian ringneck, talked with the breeder and told me that have babies(2.5 months),but he told me that the blue i want is not hand feeded and it will be a bit wild.He also haves a green one that is hand feeded.I really prefer the blue one,can he be as chill as a hand feeded if i put my time?Or should i prefer the green hand feeded one?How wild can a bird get in less than 3 months?!?
As an IRN trainer, these are my favorite birds!!!
I heard that they are banned in India. How are they open to selling in the US?
Have you played FFIV? I wanted to check the mmo out. Is it good? Bowie is a good example of a cute good talking Indian Ringneck.
My brother is obsessed with the game. I reeeeaaaally want to play it but I just don't have the free time 😭
Bowie is such a cutie. Lutino yellow with the red ring and pink eyes.
@@Fivesaflock Sorry for asking. I hope you can play someday. They do have a free trial and there are no time limits for playing it. 😭
@@roger1624 Yeah. He is such a cutie. 😊
Oh wow it's the color that Jack's it up...where do I go to buy one at very young bird or me his first owner?
Okay so my Indian ringneck which I bought from a person even he said that it’s not making a single noise and indeed he was right and idk why it’s not def cause when I clap he hears it but idk plz someone answer me
@Rk Yadav the guy that I bought him from said he’s 4 years old and that he got him from another guy but I can see he’s not old probably 2 years old cause his ring is a bit brown and has a bit of orange and blue unstop and under it with ring I mean his ring in the neck and the parrot started talking when he settled for 1 day he talks makes sounds and sings but he’s terrified when someone is close to him or waving with hands he’ has hand fear and even thinks millet is fingers
@Rk Yadav man he is very scared of hands when he sees a hand he goes crazy and I don’t want him to self harm but I talk to him 2 hour per day
@Rk Yadav he doesn’t let me near the cage he otherwise goes crazy but I am talking to him for at least 2 hoirs at afternoon and at night for 1 30 or 2 hours again
@Rk Yadav greece my mom is from Greece and my dad from Canada Toronto
@Rsy Yadav I would NOT recommend trying to "kiss on the head" an obviously anxious bird.
Where can i get a baby ring neck in fl? I will buy it right ?not adopts it?
King parrot review, the sounds my girl used to make were so cute she was so tame i let her outside for a couple days with me at 1 year old and on the 3rd day she flew away i was sad so i got a green ringneck girl one year old still miss my queen king parrot 🦜

Can an Indian ringneck be in the same cage with cockatiel?
Rule of thumb is not to mix parrots in the same cage, let alone different species. If a fight breaks out, you got a trapped parrot. I would recommend always keeping parrots caged separately.

Oof $500 for a regular ringneck? That's how much an African grey usually cost in my area. I think you might want to shop around because that's way too much.
Whatttt where are you from? where I’m at a ringneck is $700-$2,500
@@analisec9465 sheesh they shouldn't cost that much. Maybe it has to do with your import laws? I'm from Kuwait btw and birds don't cost that much from the importers, even the good ones in Europe. Try to look around for local breeders in your area instead of pet shops. They shouldn't cost that much. A few months ago I bought my Alexandrine for 200$, he was still a handfed chick but even tame older one aren't that much more. And the one I got is high quality, supposedly from European imported parents. What I'm getting at is that birds don't cost that much there's something else eating the cost down the supply chain where you are.
@@kinnikuzero really I wish, yah I’ve looked at local breeders the lowest I found was 700 that’s about it, unless I haven’t found one that charges a lower price yet but they’re expensive over here.
@@analisec9465 you win some you lose some. Although we have cheap birds here there isn't a single avian vet in the entire country. But we do have access to most veterinary meds so we kinda self diagnose our birds or ask a general vet about it (most clinics won't even accept birds).
African grays are about $1500 where I live lol and ringnecks about $800. That's super cheap for an African grey
What’s the cheapest macaw? And how much would it be for the bird itself in your opinion?
