I just started playing five days ago. My first seven box missions in a row were either bugged, or the server crashed, or it said my internet disconnected (which it clearly didn't). It's pretty disheartening. But the eighth through fourteenth missions all worked. So just keep at it, and plan for setbacks, it seems that stability just isn't important to them, after all these years. Just don't spent your last credit on something, keep enough for repairs and insurance claims. It's easy enough to make money, if you just keep at it. Thanks for the video, it gives me something to look forward to besides these boring box/crash missions.
@@pogin3365 it's only done it a couple times since posting this a week ago. Security settings aren't the problem or it would be consistently an issue. Yesterday I had four 30000 errors. But then so did most of my guild. But not everyone. I think it's more likely that their blade servers are severely overtaxed. Most of the time I can't even play with other guild members as they all have to be on the same blade, and blades are limited to 50 players. We have a thousand in my guild. If an individual server can't handle 50 concurrent connections, time to beef up the server.
If you go to hurston take all 4 missions do the 2 missions to deliver to the orphanage when you arrive at arc corp accept those 2 you can do 6 missions in like an hour and a half 90k

@Taddy 4321 have you actually snuck into someone's ship and killed them? If so that's awesome. Imagine bounty hunting and waiting for someone at a hangar, assassinating them as they fly their ship away in assumed peace. That's the sorts shit I want from this game.
Thanks for the video, nicely edited, well done! Those new box missions really seem great. Those tips about opening the hangar before you even get to your ship, and doing the stop-and-go and the near respawn point, those are great. Heh, I'm really looking forward to playing this game when I can upgrade my potato computer. Seems like what the early game needs is high value cargo for small ship pilots. So instead of getting 4 SCU of Laranite on your Pisces and making next to nothing, you'd get a contract from a company to haul 4 SCU of cargo (space beans, titanium t-shirts, whatever). It'd be just like the box missions except that it's 1-8 scu of actual cargo that gets loaded on your ship. You'd start at low level making very little, but over time as you rank up with the company you'd be able to earn 100,000+ auec per hour on average. At the same time you could limit the amount of cargo available so that even if you have a Catapillar, there's only 1-8 scu that can be used. Small ships can haul cargo but the amount is so small it's pointless. Feels like they need to set up a mechanic to make small ship hauling worth it.
Ah mate, I totally agree! And i think it would be a great idea as I really love to fly these little one-person ships. I am sure they are working on some improvements with cargo in general at this very moment. From the vids we get from CIG i know they going to be doing some chain box missions plus these cargo stations might bring some additional gameplay. But the time will show. I am positive though especially when I see how mining getting a lot of love lately.
Small ships used to be exceptional at drug trading a few patches. Due to the high cost, it was prohibitively expensive to fill a large hold with it, and you risked a huge investment. Ships like the Titan are great at this due to its small hold. But for legal players, the small cargo is basically useless at this point. I do like the idea of shipping cargo for missions as opposed to having to buy it.
You forget to mention, doing illegal missions will change your hidden reputation stat which will begin to remove missions in your general tab because you're too "sketchy" until you have none left, only criminal missions in personal tab. So yknow..... new players beware, dont do illegal cargo and things that sound like illegal kill missions or turning off something that should stay on like com arrays.
To be honest I didn’t even noticed missions disappearing and I’ve been doing these for weeks. Is there a chance that it is not working yet or perhaps bugged? What is your experience? And when did you start to noticing missions going away?
@@AnotherCitizen Theres a mission called future ghost in the personal tab that sound super criminal lol and pays REALLY well. It didnt give crimestat so I did that for like an hour and a half around hurston along with execution warrants so maybe 1 ghost mission every 20 mins. Nek minnit my entire general tab is unavailable and I cant do bounties or anything, only the P.I investigation missions. So clearly the future ghost missions are supposed to give crimestat but dont, but they do nuke your reputation.

I’m a newbie to star citizen about a week in and just learning how it all works now.. have tried and tried to do atleast one dam job and I’ve been glitched out stuck in a crevice in a cave, stuck in the floor of a space station, stuck to my ship glitch to the side, crashed into a planet, or just given up multiple missions because the damn quantum drive won’t spool because apparently the target is obstructed! I mean I know this game is still in development but damn it’s broken to shit. So damn frustrating. And I had to buy armour suit well just the legs and torso because I’m poor as shit, so I keep getting cold easily but really need a job so I can actually start progressing in this game.
I feel you, same here, played for 4 days and got bug that unable to retrieve my Aegis titan at all, tried all videos suggestions with no luck, end up raising a support.... buggy as fk and for the money you pay compared to some competitors....
@@TechbugProduction You do realize the game is still in alpha state and not a finished product, right? There will be bugs all over the place. That being said, despite some game breaking bugs, at its current state, I find Star Citizen to already be more compelling than its closer competitors out there. Like everyone else, I of course also wish that it already was closer to being finished.

I can make 300k in an hour with space combat missions. Best of all it's lawful. Just go to hurston (everus harbor) and look in your personal tab under mercenary for authorized execution warrants. These go for around 9k to 12k. Also in mercenary are missions from future ghost, which are lawful and pay around 12-20k. In general tab are ecn alerts that pay 10k. Cycle around these for an hour and depending on how many future ghost missions you get, you walk away with a hefty sum. Mainly just killing one baddie. Very easy to do alone and all targets are in hurston space. Short moon traveling and no landing or getting out wasting time. You're welcome
I am doing them from time to time but I was not lucky and haven't had them always available. So sometimes i was stuck on 2500 UEC bounties before another execution warrant popped up. I have to look into it bit further. thank you for your comment.
Which mercenary missions should I look for? Tried several time claim missions, where you have to destroy turrets. Couldn't even get in range to damage them on my upgraded freelancer. Spent 20min fighting off ships that came one after another. Killed several smaller enemies, but then bigger ship came and I couldn't break through it's shields. Then I ran out of rockets and barely escaped with damaged thrusters XD
Oleg Tryniak I would probably go for claimjumpers. Pays good and it’s fun with freelancer. And if you are good enough then you can keep all those prospectors and kill them at the end so you will get some extra cash from call to arms mission which I highly suggest to have at all times.

I notice that they want you to buy a starter pack, Do you have to buy the starter pack to play the game, or can you start with some cash and rent a ship so you can work your way up to buy a ship of your own?.
you need a game package to actually get yourself into the verse. Highly suggesting aurora or mustang. Trust me you do not need spend more on ships as they can be purchased ingame.
Also keep in mind - I do not believe ships bought with aUEC (bought within the persistent universe) BIND to your account! As such they get wiped out with major updates, when wipes are done that includes a full reset. The only way to "keep" your ships, is if you make pledges (buy from their pledge store with real money) as these will stay bound to your account forever. Including when the game goes to it's final release. So I HIGHLY recommend getting a good starter ship package through a pledge, and something you can get straight into making money with. The Avenger Titan is a great ship, as well!
I think it is not a bad idea. there are specific commodities out there, that gives you a good cash flow even with a freelancer. Anyway I am really glad you asked as I am currently working on an ultimate trading video. So please stay tuned for more info
I've realised that later, I missed that part in the final cut. You have 2 options whether killing the engines mid-jump by pressing I (by default) - always works OR hold B like you would like to normally jump and it will exit the quantum. The second part with B works for me usually with long jumps (between planetary bodies) for short jumps (around one planet) I usually kill the engines.
@@AnotherCitizen didn't know you could kill engines to cut QT short! Holding B hardly ever works for me, and it never works for me if I'm going full speed. Only works if I hit it within 5 MAYBE 10 seconds after launching.
You can jump to what ever Outpost you need, you Will only need to fly 20km.. No need to cut the Jump even though that would be a good maneuver to learn
@@Zoulrage you do not even have these specific mission outposts on your star map. The only way to get there is to know some landmarks around the planet/moon or getting a mission where you need to pickup or dropoff something in there.
@@AnotherCitizen ok so apperently i cant take these mission because i have done some bounty hunter mission, but if you have the mission, once you jump to the moon, go into the star map and set destination to the mission pickup and taht should enable you to quantum to about 20-30km
Are u telling me this is the most efficient way of money making, right now? This cannot be right! I was able to do illegal delivery missions in 3.8 and make almost 60K per hour! I guess those missions are not available anymore :-(
Mayden Awesome, well so far the best i find for a starter ship owners. There is whole sort of things you can do including hand mining. But i feel like this is scalable and sustainable to get some nice cashflow going on.
I am not sure how to answer the first question as quantum drives are interchangeable now. But I would suggest taking a look here: www.erkul.games/quantum-drives Choose the size you are after and then sort it by speed. Also, keep in mind that faster quantum drive also means way more fuel consumption. For your second question, I know about mercury but I've also heard that Constellation Taurus might have some shielded cargo space.
I don't like throwing my name in the hat but I bought this a time ago and my referals I am one away from a new ship, the Gladius. If you use STAR-4JNK-3DF4 I would really appreciate it and you and hopefully see you in game. It is quite a beautiful game. imho, better than Elite Dangerous.
2 days do delivery quest. Bought helix 1 and rented prospector. İ retrieved prospector from other planet and helix 1 gone. Because u have to take off your parts from rented ships. I think developers only worked for big and exculusive ships. If you want to play like these situations and bugs than play. This game will not finish because they dont want.
Yeah this has been changed recently as people were renting ships and striping them of components for their own ships. There should be some warning ingame. I really understand your frustration with this.
The video was great. But seems like this game has the same problem as Elite Dangerous, boring looong delivery missions where it seems more like a nice wallpaper than a game. :/ Where is the fun in just sitting there doing barely anything for hours? Is playing delivery boy really the most lucrative thing to do? Maybe I am missing something here but 15k credits seems like nothing considering that ships cost about a Million if not more than that. Maybe someone can explain to me how you actually make money because this game seems incredibly grindy. Someone inform me as I am considering getting this game. But I am not going to like if it's like ED where you are basically just sitting in space all day working a 8hr shift. I want to have fun, have adventures, explore planets find anomalies maybe discover aliens, shooting etc. does this game do that or is the focus more on being an actual simulation of living in space and performing mundane work? How is the community, do people grief you a lot and rob you of your last belongings so that you need a fleet or can you play this Solo?
Hi, It is because if the server crashes you will wake up on space station instead of the planet. It takes around 10-15 minutes just to get out of the planet. If you wake up on space station you are out within 4 minutes.
So has anyone done a true breakdown between the illegal missions and the legal ones? I used to do personal deliveries in 3.7 as my primary source of income. But that was before the police would stop you for it. Now, with the payout being 15k per box, I see it being profitable, but I also wonder if the time loss is worth the higher payout, especially when combined with the chance to go to jail for it. I've seen the best route starting at Hurston, where you end up with 6 boxes delivered for around 90k over an hour and half. That's not bad, but if you can chain 5 or 6 covalex missions, that's between 30-36k. But it takes much less time since you can QT to your targets, and if you do it well, you'll be visiting two planets. This takes around 30 minutes, so the time vs money is about the same, without as much hassle and the threat of prison. There's also the FTL missions which pay almost 9k, but those tend to go to R&R's which takes more time. So I was just wondering if anyone has really tried both ways to see which is better. I know for me, the chance of going back to jail firmly deters me from breaking the law, but especially if the payout is similar over time I see no reason to do the personals.
If you find them there's legal boxes for 8k, so with just 2 boxes you have a similar profit but secure run. Maybe you can mix legal and illegal deliveries.
Absolutely, I am playing on the 1980p and the highest settings with film grain and motion blur off. However, I've done some tweaks in windows and I will be doing a complete video about it next week. What HW are you playing on?
@@AnotherCitizen Whatchu mean HW? I looked up some videos and went the Tarkov route, disabled fullscreen optimizations, max performance power setting on the GPU, high prio on task manager and we'll see tonight how it runs
@@bigtommyg5663 I meant what is your CPU, Graphics card, RAM and so on. With these performance tweaks. This is what I've done myself and that's helped a lot. Also, there is a big difference for me when i am streaming and not streaming. But generally, these little steps helped to smooth it up a lot. Also going up from 16-32G of ram had a big impact on overall performance. I've noticed way less of these game freezes now and then.
@@AnotherCitizen I need to get a dedicated ssd or M.2 drive because right now it's on an SSD with other shit on it, cpu is an i7 8700k, GPU is a 2070super, and got 32GB of RAM so nothing should realistically be impeding it, though if streaming seems to knock it out, that could be it, haven't really played it without streaming it
Ehhh just bought the game and played 3 days its a great game, but i caught a bug and unable to retrieve my Aegis Titan, tried from another location, tried adding cargo but ship is not showing in the list, tried removing appdata and rsi installer, end up sending a ticket to support to reset and now waiting. Game is buggy as hell so think first before spending 60£ like me....
Oh no, That's happend to couple of our org mates as well. There is easy fix for that but i understand that the way how it is communicated can make couple of people give up before they even find the answer. Go to the websites -> login -> Go to settings and in the menu you will see link Character reset at the bottom. Once you will go through that your ship will be back ready to fly again. I know it is annoying I've been there in initial 3.9 and had to do it every day. Also try to jump on spectrum.
Actually, you can do some trading along with these illegal box missions as these outposts selling VICE which you can sell later with high profit. But i am not suggesting to put any money into it yet as in 3.9 I was not successful to sell any drugs yet apart from really ridiculously small amounts (like 8 units per minute from 800 total) on grimhex. I will be doing some more testing of that today on stream so we will see if i will find out some better way of doing it.
Morphologis had a real idea for introducing new players to hauling by using volatile cargo, basically said that the timer before the cargo goes corrupt should decrease at lower levels of scu so that ships like the titan would become more useful for hauling volatile cargoes
Lies... First, you dont get these missions (i got 5 stars everywhere employer and personal, yet to see one), second, you get regular server drops (also without the ability to get back in, "bad location" error), third you get a 20k fine for being dropped from a server while doing a delivery mission for failing it.
Oh and the delivery machine where you deliver can bug out, if you log out its considered a failed mission btw. Have I mentioned "fines"? Basically its Star Fines online, everything you do is fines, landing pad bugged out even though its the correct one 500 fine, also ship can dissapear at this point, delivery failed, 20k fine; you accidentally touched your mouse while being contraband scanned, 20k fine, also ship destroyed so if delivery mission was going on additional 20k fine.

Go to Everus, accept the 2 personal deliveries from Orinth to the Orphanage, 30k with much less distance and time.

Which key do you have to press to interrupt the Quantum Drive?
You have 2 options whether holding B (originally used to engage quantum) or by cutting the engines (I)
I notice that they want you to buy a starter pack, Do you have to buy the starter pack to play the game, or can you start with some cash and rent a ship so you can work your way up to buy a ship of your own?.
you need a game package to actually get yourself into the verse. Highly suggesting aurora or mustang. Trust me you do not need spend more on ships as they can be purchased ingame.
Also keep in mind - I do not believe ships bought with aUEC (bought within the persistent universe) BIND to your account! As such they get wiped out with major updates, when wipes are done that includes a full reset. The only way to "keep" your ships, is if you make pledges (buy from their pledge store with real money) as these will stay bound to your account forever. Including when the game goes to it's final release. So I HIGHLY recommend getting a good starter ship package through a pledge, and something you can get straight into making money with. The Avenger Titan is a great ship, as well!

I think it is not a bad idea. there are specific commodities out there, that gives you a good cash flow even with a freelancer. Anyway I am really glad you asked as I am currently working on an ultimate trading video. So please stay tuned for more info
How do you cut the QT mid-jump?
I've realised that later, I missed that part in the final cut. You have 2 options whether killing the engines mid-jump by pressing I (by default) - always works OR hold B like you would like to normally jump and it will exit the quantum. The second part with B works for me usually with long jumps (between planetary bodies) for short jumps (around one planet) I usually kill the engines.
@@AnotherCitizen didn't know you could kill engines to cut QT short! Holding B hardly ever works for me, and it never works for me if I'm going full speed. Only works if I hit it within 5 MAYBE 10 seconds after launching.
You can jump to what ever Outpost you need, you Will only need to fly 20km.. No need to cut the Jump even though that would be a good maneuver to learn
You can't jump certain illegal spots such as: Orphanage, R&D, Jumptown and so on as they do not have a quantum marker.
@@AnotherCitizen are they not picked Up from the Outposts you can see on the map?
@@Zoulrage you do not even have these specific mission outposts on your star map. The only way to get there is to know some landmarks around the planet/moon or getting a mission where you need to pickup or dropoff something in there.

@@AnotherCitizen ok so apperently i cant take these mission because i have done some bounty hunter mission, but if you have the mission, once you jump to the moon, go into the star map and set destination to the mission pickup and taht should enable you to quantum to about 20-30km

Are u telling me this is the most efficient way of money making, right now? This cannot be right! I was able to do illegal delivery missions in 3.8 and make almost 60K per hour!

Mayden Awesome, well so far the best i find for a starter ship owners. There is whole sort of things you can do including hand mining. But i feel like this is scalable and sustainable to get some nice cashflow going on.
Here I was hoping for something new, the 15k missions are nice . .but when buying ships costs upwards of 1million . . a drop in the water.

I am not sure how to answer the first question as quantum drives are interchangeable now. But I would suggest taking a look here: www.erkul.games/quantum-drives Choose the size you are after and then sort it by speed. Also, keep in mind that faster quantum drive also means way more fuel consumption. For your second question, I know about mercury but I've also heard that Constellation Taurus might have some shielded cargo space.
A general rule of thumb is The bigger the faster.

2 days do delivery quest. Bought helix 1 and rented prospector. İ retrieved prospector from other planet and helix 1 gone. Because u have to take off your parts from rented ships. I think developers only worked for big and exculusive ships. If you want to play like these situations and bugs than play. This game will not finish because they dont want.
Yeah this has been changed recently as people were renting ships and striping them of components for their own ships. There should be some warning ingame. I really understand your frustration with this.
The video was great. But seems like this game has the same problem as Elite Dangerous, boring looong delivery missions where it seems more like a nice wallpaper than a game. :/ Where is the fun in just sitting there doing barely anything for hours? Is playing delivery boy really the most lucrative thing to do? Maybe I am missing something here but 15k credits seems like nothing considering that ships cost about a Million if not more than that. Maybe someone can explain to me how you actually make money because this game seems incredibly grindy. Someone inform me as I am considering getting this game. But I am not going to like if it's like ED where you are basically just sitting in space all day working a 8hr shift. I want to have fun, have adventures, explore planets find anomalies maybe discover aliens, shooting etc. does this game do that or is the focus more on being an actual simulation of living in space and performing mundane work? How is the community, do people grief you a lot and rob you of your last belongings so that you need a fleet or can you play this Solo?
I made 101k from legal boxes in a single session ( 2h ) but you have to be lucky, with deliveries & crashes.

Hi, It is because if the server crashes you will wake up on space station instead of the planet. It takes around 10-15 minutes just to get out of the planet. If you wake up on space station you are out within 4 minutes.

So has anyone done a true breakdown between the illegal missions and the legal ones? I used to do personal deliveries in 3.7 as my primary source of income. But that was before the police would stop you for it. Now, with the payout being 15k per box, I see it being profitable, but I also wonder if the time loss is worth the higher payout, especially when combined with the chance to go to jail for it. I've seen the best route starting at Hurston, where you end up with 6 boxes delivered for around 90k over an hour and half. That's not bad, but if you can chain 5 or 6 covalex missions, that's between 30-36k. But it takes much less time since you can QT to your targets, and if you do it well, you'll be visiting two planets. This takes around 30 minutes, so the time vs money is about the same, without as much hassle and the threat of prison.
There's also the FTL missions which pay almost 9k, but those tend to go to R&R's which takes more time. So I was just wondering if anyone has really tried both ways to see which is better. I know for me, the chance of going back to jail firmly deters me from breaking the law, but especially if the payout is similar over time I see no reason to do the personals.
If you find them there's legal boxes for 8k, so with just 2 boxes you have a similar profit but secure run. Maybe you can mix legal and illegal deliveries.

Absolutely, I am playing on the 1980p and the highest settings with film grain and motion blur off. However, I've done some tweaks in windows and I will be doing a complete video about it next week. What HW are you playing on?
@@AnotherCitizen Whatchu mean HW? I looked up some videos and went the Tarkov route, disabled fullscreen optimizations, max performance power setting on the GPU, high prio on task manager and we'll see tonight how it runs
@@bigtommyg5663 I meant what is your CPU, Graphics card, RAM and so on. With these performance tweaks. This is what I've done myself and that's helped a lot. Also, there is a big difference for me when i am streaming and not streaming. But generally, these little steps helped to smooth it up a lot. Also going up from 16-32G of ram had a big impact on overall performance. I've noticed way less of these game freezes now and then.
@@AnotherCitizen I need to get a dedicated ssd or M.2 drive because right now it's on an SSD with other shit on it, cpu is an i7 8700k, GPU is a 2070super, and got 32GB of RAM so nothing should realistically be impeding it, though if streaming seems to knock it out, that could be it, haven't really played it without streaming it
Ehhh just bought the game and played 3 days its a great game, but i caught a bug and unable to retrieve my Aegis Titan, tried from another location, tried adding cargo but ship is not showing in the list, tried removing appdata and rsi installer, end up sending a ticket to support to reset and now waiting. Game is buggy as hell so think first before spending 60£ like me....
Oh no, That's happend to couple of our org mates as well. There is easy fix for that but i understand that the way how it is communicated can make couple of people give up before they even find the answer. Go to the websites -> login -> Go to settings and in the menu you will see link Character reset at the bottom. Once you will go through that your ship will be back ready to fly again. I know it is annoying I've been there in initial 3.9 and had to do it every day. Also try to jump on spectrum.

box missions yes, actual trading, not really, its cargo isn't enough to make any meaningful profit
Actually, you can do some trading along with these illegal box missions as these outposts selling VICE which you can sell later with high profit. But i am not suggesting to put any money into it yet as in 3.9 I was not successful to sell any drugs yet apart from really ridiculously small amounts (like 8 units per minute from 800 total) on grimhex. I will be doing some more testing of that today on stream so we will see if i will find out some better way of doing it.

Morphologis had a real idea for introducing new players to hauling by using volatile cargo, basically said that the timer before the cargo goes corrupt should decrease at lower levels of scu so that ships like the titan would become more useful for hauling volatile cargoes

Lies... First, you dont get these missions (i got 5 stars everywhere employer and personal, yet to see one), second, you get regular server drops (also without the ability to get back in, "bad location" error), third you get a 20k fine for being dropped from a server while doing a delivery mission for failing it.
Oh and the delivery machine where you deliver can bug out, if you log out its considered a failed mission btw. Have I mentioned "fines"? Basically its Star Fines online, everything you do is fines, landing pad bugged out even though its the correct one 500 fine, also ship can dissapear at this point, delivery failed, 20k fine; you accidentally touched your mouse while being contraband scanned, 20k fine, also ship destroyed so if delivery mission was going on additional 20k fine.
