Its crazy that the rarest Trilogo figure is also the most common loose or on Jedi card. There are only about half a dozen in existence and most appeared in France back in the day. There are a lot of big time moc collectors who cant complete a carded run till they get this one - hence the price.
I have that unopened dip dots set! I need to get to an auction house now!
I would have loved that bag of mini-vehicles as a kid. And A-holes who bid stupid prices like $23k for General Madine are what mess up the collector's market for the rest of us.
Brilliant video Junkman. Follow up definitely please. 🥰
Keep us posted on how these auctions turn out! That would make another good video!
Thanks alot for putting these up.
I like that little bag of plastic Star Wars pieces, too.
It reminded me of a bag of dinosaurs or something. :)
I'm really into store displays, so I'd love to have the vintage Kenner figure store headers.
I used to try to collect as many cool Star Wars displays in the late 90s and early 2000s as I could.
Thanks for the video
Even in the UK those 3 figures came last, with the Jawa coming at the end of 78.
We did get the vinyl caped version but that was only released in bigger shops in London, the rest of the country having to wait for the cloth caped version. ✌️
That sign explains why my first 3 figures were Death Squad Commander, Jawa, & Tusken Raider while waiting for my Early Bird figures. I recently got a set off those Dip Dots for 50 bucks missing one page but otherwise mint -- sealed & unusued normally go for $150-ish on Ebay. The rest of this stuff seems realistically priced.
I dig that Jedi sign.
Im thinking of auctioning off my extremely rare prototype figure of the C-3PO with the extra "appendage" as seen on the star wars trading card that Anthony Daniels always rips up whenever someone asks him to autograph.
As I remember the only figures not available in Feb 1978 were the jawa and Han Going to various stores would yield the others I saw the other ten on a cabinet in Woolworths, By June July 1978 got em all cept the jawa got that later in the year The Yoda puppet was in a ep of TV show Taxi
The Japanese Die-Cast Darth Vader along with the store displays that advertised the original 12 figures were the coolest auction listings here in my opinion, but the auction prices are unfortunately out of my price range. Also $23k for General Madine is wild, especially for a character that’s not in the movie that much, I can understand if it was Boba Fett, but a character that’s not even a fan favorite is crazy.
I've checked out a few listings and some items seem very questionable. For example: a Top Toys carded Stormtrooper that shows the taped blaster on the bottom of the bubble and then on the 3rd pic, it's taped on the side again. Also, the bubble seems to be missing or lifting in a corner but no mention of that.
Another example is an ESB carded Leia. The card, bubble, and figure look pristine but there is no blaster inside the bubble nor is there a cardboard divider!
Very fishy.
Carrie fishy
@@Joshua-l7g No doubt lol
I got a General Madine figure sitting right next to my Farm Boy Luke figure in my Gold Vader carrying case.
Don’t underestimate the allure of Crix Madine.
I've seen the Japanese die cast action figures before. Not up close but on ebay. Made by Takara who brought us Henshin Cyborg and Microman. Unfortunately only 5 different figures made, Vader, Stormtrooper, Chewie, R2 and 3-P0. I'd love to have them but I've got too much that I'm collecting. I reckon Takara switched from the die cast ones to repackaged versions of the Kenner ones to save money. It would have been insanely expensive to make all of the characters in die cast! Honestly though, I think the die cast figures are way cooler than the plastic ones.
The Yoda hand puppet looks better unpainted. 😮
Junkman get you WHATEVER you need......
Looks like I'll have to break into my "piggy bank" to relieve my childhood. And also deal with my wife's dagger stare once I have "The Force" in my possession.
I had a Jawa vinyl cape as a kid. I switched it out with my friend's cloth cape. He wasn't big into SW, he just had millions of random toys. Go bots was his jam. Then he had like 1-5 figures of every toy line. His mom worked at a toy store. And she was friends with loss prevention ( security) so every toy that was stolen and caught, she got for free. Lucky MF!
anyways.... He did notice I switched capes, but said he liked it better. He also has a red cape Bib Furtuna ... I clowned him cuz I thought he put a different cape on him
Wasn't till a few years ago, I seen that red cape Bib Furtuna was a real thing. I probably texted this B4. Lol
Hell yes pls do that, would love to see the final sale of some those items. Another great vid Junkman!
Done
I will chip in on this one! The Japanese bag of mini vehicles are known as KESHI GOMU. Simply put Erasers. Keshi is to erase, Gomu is rubber. They are the same substance as the Transformers Decoys. Hope that helps you all with that one! Take care God Bless You!
Thanks, I wanted to know what those were! I thought they were plastic. Would be really cool to have them if they were.
@@BoshiYoshi Yeah, they are pretty expensive and even loose can fetch a good price in Japan. There are a lot of Collectors for Keshi Gomu such as Gundam, Muscles, Pokemon, Dragonball Z and Transformers. The key is to know that they say Takara
(タカラ) Or Bandai on them and that they are NOT broken or missing parts of the rubber.
I can imagine. If they were erasers I'm sure most of them were used for their intended purpose and destroyed, lost, tossed in the garbage or just ended up rotting after 40+ years, so probably not a lot of them left. Also my inner One Piece fan activated when I saw "Gomu" :P @@decepticonzerora
@@BoshiYoshi Actually the Japanese from the past were very picky and very careful with their school stuff unlike myself back in the States. They kept their items pristine and some of course were used but overall a huge collectors market here in Japan!
Huh, I figured they would have been used if they were marketed as erasers and not toys. I can't imagine walking into a vintage toy shop in Japan. I could be a millionaire and still probably leave the shop broke with all the cool, unique and never-seen-outside-Japan toys. I always get jealous of all the amazing toys you can get in gashapon machines over there and the big Pokemon centers full of merch I'd love to have. WIsh there was an easy, affordable way to get them in the states. @@decepticonzerora
I love how you've ripped the 90s PoTF Deluxe figures as being one of the dumbest, worst Star Wars toys ever made but that prototype Boussh Leia which is almost the exact same concept but even worse is really cool. :P
But it’s cool cause it’s a look at the behind the scenes history if released it be dumb
Well you're not wrong! @@ThatJunkman
Sometimes a guy named AFG would do a Hakes auction.
Hell ya
I was keeping all Fortnite toys n cards store displays. I'd buy out rest of display box with backdrop, and just take it thru self checkout.
1 time at target a lady came up and went all KAREN. I spent probably $500-759 a month there. Give me stupid cardboard crap. Jeez
I'm breaking out my wallet as we speak😎😎😎😎😎😎
8:23 That is the stupidest thing I've seen in my life. I'm sooooo glad they killed the line when they did if this was the direction they were headed. Its like they are trying to be GI Joe with to many accessories but still holding out on extra points of articulation. They really should have introduced articulated elbows and knees when the Jedi line launched. That way they could have been competitive with GI Joe, they could have re-released updated versions of the older figures and held on to some older collectors. Older kids just felt Joe stuff was superior. This would have also made two key Jedi figures make a hell of a lot more sense....the Biker Scout wouldn't have looked stupid on his vehicle and the Emperor could have sat down!!!!!! That figure made no sense standing up.
$9350…that’s a lot of potatoes!!
im guessing madine probably didnt sell on rotj card in us so they didnt release many in France or Canada etc
I have the Darth Vader carrying case
Update - the Trilogo Madine sold for over 42k!!😮
Yep. Update video soon
Must be nice to have that much money
why would anyone in their right mind pay that much for some signage!?! ummmm, have they not heard of the new technology called computers and printers!?! im pretty sure you could make some repro versions of these same signs! whoever buys those has more money than common sense!
That’s like saying who would be a Star Wars with autograph from the actors haven’t they ever heard of a pen. They can print a poster and sign the names themselves
Cool stuff -- anyone got a few million dollars to help me get some of this?
I have a tri logo Boba Fett:)
hey bud
That Leia figure looks dumb. Are you biding on anything Junkman?
Nope
at 11:20 darth vader comes with a missile??
And a gun but can’t see it in pic
