Do you think his son will be upset when he sees this video? (What he gave us, given the incomplete is worth $3000. When he came back in the next week with the completed parts, as mentioned in this video, we gave him another $1000.)

I loved when the guy said, "what do you want me to say, come up another $100?" He seemed like a dad who got his kids any toys they wanted, because he loved his kids and that's what a dad who loves there kids should do. Nowadays, as a dad, I did the same thing, except by the time my son was old enough to play minecraft he stopped playing with toys, and I ended up buying things that never were touched. It was sad. It was my fault for letting him play minecraft, but since I loved him I let him play, just like I'd have bought him any toy he wanted.
I love this old guy and his passion for, if not the toys, just that he's been holdin on to these bits of plastic so long he wanted them to go to a good home.
This is why I love your channel and store… man came in with ZERO idea what he had and yall were so upfront and honest about what he had and what it was worth
This collection is definitely worth about 4k to maybe 5k, I feel like they should’ve offered a bit more. I know there were some parts missing but they were in great condition. And you know the shop probably had a lot of the missing parts. That dad had no clue what he had. If his son, who owned the toys came in he would’ve definitely got a better offer
The store invested just 1500 on what will eventually fetch 8-10K in sales. The G1 Megatron boxed could fetch a grand alone. I would of offered the guy 4K sterling and paid shipping to the UK for that treasure chest.
@@maxvideoentertainment8706 that megatron would not fetch over 700 hundred. One sold on ebay for 510 a few days ago. None of those toys were mint or complete. @@maxvideoentertainment8706 the store invested 2500.00 in what might be close to 5000.00 in sales. So 2500.00 profit after sales. Money also goes towards buying more inventory for the shop. Then as the shop owner he gets what ever is left for himself after all that. Not such a big goldmine everyone thinks it is. That megatron is the most valued thing in that lot. One in box sold on ebay March 30 for 510.00. So no, the megatron is not worth 1000.00. You were very very fair with the fella, he wasn't sure what everything was worth, and you have to sell it to make a profit (hence a store). He was very happy.
While items may change from country to country, that AT-AT alone is worth around $500 here. The Tiger Fly gets around $200+,. The Heli Fighter is around $400. The Megazord (in box) around $400, Pretenders in box around $250, The megatron for around $600 (Possiby more as this is like new and in box). That's not even a quarter of the stuff! that's why it's never worthit to sell lots if you after good cash. but most probably this guy just wanted to get rid of everything, and in that case you will always get less dough
It's a business and TF is a brick and mortar that offers sellers an INSTANT sale of whole collections at half the market value. That is proper collectible reselling margins. So many dumbass comments about scamming on here, jeez. Im impressed with TF, just discovered this channel today. Im in the trading card business, i can tell TF is as legit as they come. This guy has devoted his life to this business for years, what hes got going isnt built overnight. Great job TF.
That's in 12:00 is 'Exin Castillos', Exin was a brand from here, Spain, funded in late 60s and get bankrupt in early 90s. That was my childhood in the 80s, I had several of those castles. I think the brand came to Mexico too, but it was a spanish thing mostly. It's weird that man had that. So many memories.
The main problem is that you guys are not transparent enough with the customer about the retail value. You need to first explain what it is all worth and even say what you are going to sell it for, a ballpark figure, explain you need to make a profit to justify the time and space for it all and then make the offer of 45-55% of the retail value or whatever. The way you all come up with the $1500 offer is filmed really sketchy: three people side by side, behind the counter whispering among themselves, away from the customer's ears. I would never feel comfortable in that setting selling something to the store. It just looks sketchy as hell. Sure you may not make as huge a profit being up front, but you'll gain the respect and trust of the viewers and future customers and that alone is priceless.
He could look around the store and see prices. He could have taken seconds and looked up ebay prices. Sold and not list prices. Then look at all the unsold ones.

Pretty shocked at the the number of people who don’t understand the difference between the market value of an item to an end-purchaser (ie a collector) vs the value a reseller will pay to save you the hassle of finding the market (eBay, conventions, swaps, Facebook etc) and still sell it profitably after overhead.
I know TF has to do their thing, I mean, in my head I thought maybe around 4-5K for the whole lot, so they were going to offer him half that. Had the MASK figures been complete with helmets the value on those would have been greater, but without really seeing everything in detail can't know for sure how complete everything was. The SW lot alone I thought would be valued at around 1K total. Not to mention the clean G1 Megatron, no stickers applied and still on the sheet will likely sell for around 1K as well. If the gentleman ever came back with more of the accessories to complete what he already brought in I think that would bump up the overall value of the haul to a more favorable offer.

Just found your channel and I am really enjoying your videos. I have been a reseller for almost a decade and it's super fun to watch you ion your element. I wish I had had as much knowledge about anything as you do for toys.
Wow. people are just thinking of the value, but not the owners time, holding it having to show customers the item and they not buying it, and putting everything together paying employees and rent and bills. Most sellers pay 30% to 60% of value depending on what the item is. Not 80% like some people may think. I am not too familiar with what the total of these would be, but I'm pretty sure the dude isn't going to be putting it on TH-cam and try to rip people off. It's his job to try to get the best fair price and it may not match yours. The seller has to or could do a little research just to make sure also that he's getting a fair price.
@@Jamestown23_Crazy guy, is not that serious. Go warm some milk and chill. Attitude like that, will get you dropped sooner or later. Chill with the threats and enjoy life
Seems like everyone saying they ripped this guy off is saying they shoulda gave the guy 2k. That’s $500 more than the $1500 they gave the guy. But we have to take I. Consideration that they are an “SHOP” and they have to pay rent and it’s gonna take time to sell those toys. Now if they were “COLLECTORS” that be a different story. And I think you are all looking at it from a collectors point of view.
As a collector myself, the reason most of these are in as good of shape is he probably valued the memories between when he got them, who got them for him, and a desire to preserve the memories associated with them. Yet since he went to the military he lost those attachments, but I can feel a small part of his son still wanting these. Oh well, off to a good cause!
So the son is probably 45-50ish and in the navy.. didn’t want it.. I would’ve kept every piece.. to each their own.. thanks to the dude serving… wish I woulda lived next to this dude!!!😂😂… you guys still low balled the crap outta him… cause he didn’t know.. and you guys showed it to us?😂 wow
He got way more than he would have gotten had he just tossed it out or left it in his attic for the next 20 years. He also had every opportunity to do the work of researching each item and listing them on ebay himself to get more, and considering how little he knows about any of it, that would have taken him more time and effort than it's worth. None of it was mint, and you can look up the prices yourself on all those SW pieces, most don't sell for much anymore. I know because I have the same sets in pretty much the same condition and I would have made more if I'd sold it off 10 or 20 years ago than I will now. You never get full value when you sell to a reseller who has to do all that work, especially when the reseller has a store and employees he has to pay.
Whether or not his son gets upset, he did right by bringing it to you guys! He would have been ripped off he just had a garage sale or put it in a classified add and sold it, not knowing what it was worth, somebody would have low balled him to death. You guys treated him right and fair!
these are the people who have the best garage sales ! I’ve gotten a bunch of on card vintage figures from garage sales throughout the years for prices you guys wouldn’t even believe lmaoo but here’s the proof ! Some people genuinely don’t know or care what they have .
I do feel that you took advantage of that gentleman…your eyes lit up when you saw what he had, but it is what it is, you did not make that offer at gun point.
Just found this channel and loving everything, I love seeing and learning all about all the items it’s so cool to see all that in one place and know that there are still treasures from the past that survived 😊🤛🤛👍
Guys..when people re-sell things they typically buy them for about half of what they sell it for. That is a standard practice among lots of things that are re-sold. Kind of like when u sell something to a pawn shop…say a TV. If it goes for $400 used, then they will buy it for around $200. The store has to make a profit to cover their business costs…things like employee salaries, rent, electric, advertising, insurance, worker’s comp, and many other costs. If it were me, I would print up a flyer saying “We buy toys” and list the toys they are looking for and explain how they are valued and show the transparency of it all because most folks are new to selling toys probably. This would help folks understand it better. These guys are being fair IMO, running a business is VERY expensive and I think some commenters on here are not taking that into account. Also he would not post unfair prices to just get backlash so cut him some slack. Thanks for the videos, I enjoy watching.
I wonder how many Star Wars figures are buried in my folks back garden... We had a dug up 6 foot square area that in my imagination was like Tatooine in summer, and Hoth in winter. Much better than a plastic play set 😂 There'll be loads of Airfix German and British toy soldiers down there too..
Megatron worth $1500 alone. These guys will send it in to get graded and it will be worth $5,000. Poor old man. I've been a collector and dealer since 1985. Thise mask toys were rare with the boxes and the condition was fine/extra fine.
And they deserve it since it’s their field. They know the value in all of it therefore they were smart and got a good deal. They are a business, on top of that they are good dudes
Your estimates are way too high, Megatron in that condition, 7-8 grade, is worth 750 max. The Mask toys are valuable if the boxes are in mint condition which most certainly aren't here, the Outlaw NIB is 900-1000, in this condition maybe 400. Maybe 3k is on the lower end but max value here is 3.8k if you're lucky.

I want that walker, what an amazing piece!
$1500 is a great payout to a guy that just wants to clear space. Honestly he was probably annoyed that they took so long
EASY 6500.00 DOLLARS IN TORONTO CANADA YOU ARE A ------
i remember my dad buying me the MASK-rhino and like a box of other smaler vehicles from the flea-market for couple $... they must be somewhere at thier house
This is my new chillout show. :)
You finessed that guy.....the look on your colleagues' face when you were punching numbers gave it away...he knew the heist was on.
I can barely watch these videos anymore it’s disgusting
The Megatron alone is seven 800 bucks
Yeah I was thinking same thing when all 3 were lined up with the calculator he never stands behind counter in a row with the calculator. When he was like no it can't be that one he definitely typed in the total worth of it
Not sure I believe the extra 1k off camera either
You pis you will be next to pay for what the shop.owner has done. You condone this type of activity. You will pay I promise you that.
@Jamestown23_ huh?
@@toyfederation I printed your picture. You're done.
@@toyfederationhe is a proud PATRIOT😮…put u on notice.
@@Jamestown23_Crazy guy, is not that serious. Go warm some milk and chill. Attitude like that, will get you dropped sooner or later. Chill with the threats and enjoy life
This is real multitasking; giving a ‘Toys 101’ lesson while sorting 250 toys. I’d have sent the guy out for coffee 😅
Going to take a lot of time to prepare it to sell it as well.
Remember, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. I am glad he brought it in, so now someone else can enjoy the toys, collecting and memories.
“I don’t know what this stuffs worth” like blood in the water to a bunch of sharks
lol IKR....never, ever say that...I think maybe he was afraid it was all worthless and they were going to laugh at him or something.
Many people that say that are lying. The old play dumb routine.
That line doesn't hold water any more. Anyone with a smart phone can take a picture of anything and automatically finds its varying values online.
@@inkwell9651 you are stupid
Just casually resting his arm on top of the comic books. 😆
I guess you can do that when you bring in the vintage goods. 😆
I feel like $2000 was on the screen when they mutually decided to not offer that much
3000*
I feel like this guy just got robbed
Ya some of that star wars stuff was in great condition and that Megatron ...I thought this would be like a lot more
He came back with the parts to complete some stuff and got another $1000
Wow! That’s an amazing collection of mask and Star Wars. Happy he didn’t throw them out.
The guys wearing green and blue seem sketchy
Which one
Hello from he UK. I love this format, it reminds me of early 2000s Indy documentaries. Subbed
Yeah you crushed this guy...that star wars stuff was crazy
He going to make 20 k on that easy
20k!?! hahahah. We'll be lucky to make $3k!
@toyfederation Really?
You got my child hood dreams in your hand.
I'd love to have that mask crusader set. You got it in ebay?
@@toyfederation I was impressed watching you open those toys up like 2nd nature. Respect for that.
LOL the smile after seeing that the rotor still worked on the Tiger Fly....priceless.
Dude that megatron is easily worth $1500 they ripped that poor guy off big time.
And plumbing supplies cost 10% of what they charge you to fix the pipes, you pay for the knowledge.
OMG, Kenner really needs to reissue those MASK toys. They are missing out big in the business opportunity right now
Great content as always he had a gold mine wow amazing
I love the editing on these vids, so chilled ❤
Whether or not his son gets upset, he did right by bringing it to you guys! He would have been ripped off he just had a garage sale or put it in a classified add and sold it, not knowing what it was worth, somebody would have low balled him to death. You guys treated him right and fair!
he was ripped off
Nothing better than waking up , and seeing old Star Wars toys, apart from seeing my kids :)
Can’t wait to see part 2 where this guy completes these sets and gets paid!
Video 😂 didn't happen
I always wanted a G1 Megatron when i was a kid (still today😆)and seeing that one there in pristine condition made me happy
Ya'll need a table specifically for trades/swaps
Nah, he already said, he likes to open his new toys on the floor, because it makes him feel like a kid.
It's like having Pauley from Rockey talking to you about toys lol. Roy is so nice.
All those complaining, I hope you never go into business. You'll be closed by the end of the week.
Yep, the ones that complain are the ones that never pay top dollar either 😂
these are the people who have the best garage sales !
Thanks for the videos, I enjoy watching.
ok Kevin
I wonder how many Star Wars figures are buried in my folks back garden... We had a dug up 6 foot square area that in my imagination was like Tatooine in summer, and Hoth in winter. Much better than a plastic play set 😂 There'll be loads of Airfix German and British toy soldiers down there too..
We bought that land of Jawas from this video and we love it! Thank you toy federation!
Great video really enjoyed it thanks
Megatron worth $1500 alone. These guys will send it in to get graded and it will be worth $5,000. Poor old man. I've been a collector and dealer since 1985. Thise mask toys were rare with the boxes and the condition was fine/extra fine.
And they deserve it since it’s their field. They know the value in all of it therefore they were smart and got a good deal. They are a business, on top of that they are good dudes
@@floatahhh Ripping people off for greed is no way to do business
Your estimates are way too high, Megatron in that condition, 7-8 grade, is worth 750 max. The Mask toys are valuable if the boxes are in mint condition which most certainly aren't here, the Outlaw NIB is 900-1000, in this condition maybe 400. Maybe 3k is on the lower end but max value here is 3.8k if you're lucky.
