  • Rear bushings are a common replacement for Range Rover Sport 2006-2009, or LR3 2005-2009. When the bushing in the lower control arm becomes soft, old and worn out it will effect steering stability.
    It also throws off your alignment and creates tire wear instability on steering.
    Atlantic British Ltd. stocks all the parts you need for this replacement, be it the entire lower control arm or just the rear poly bushing.
    Watch Doug, our Land Rover Master Technician, talk you through the replacement of the original equipment rear bushing (or you can use the optional polybush kit 1BUPOLYO, which we show in this video) of the lower control arm suspension.
    Access to this bushing is granted by removing the entire lower control arm assembly.

    Nicely done, though I would add that one should add bushing grease on the metal core since it should rotate freely inside of the orange bushing. This will prevent squeaking in the future. Do not put grease on the outside of the orange bushing since the bushing is not supposed to rotate.

    Very well explained but I've decided open heart surgery may be easier unless I have access to garage facilities 😕

    RRS is currently in the shop for all bushing replacement. He just called and said 6 machine shops turned him down for pressing the bushings out. I see why now.

    Great tips on setting it back on the ground and let it be in its relaxed position👍🏽👍🏽 … I assume you can do this to the front control arms too right ? .. I have a 2011 R/r sport HSE . I just got a recall for my gas tank for the - FUEL TANK FLANGE ASSEMBLY CRACKING -

    Two questions:
    If the rear control arm bolt is known to seize, why not put anti seize on the new one when replacing it?
    If your going through all the work to pull the control arm, why not do both front and rear bushing?
    Thanks for the video.

      +TheTraakon I think that's because you dont want it to come loose again unless required

    It's easy to get them out. Light it with a propane torch. Be careful it shoots out across the floor.

    Thanks for the video. When you reinstall that hub nut do you use a new hub nut & re-peen/stake like the one you took off, to keep it from backing off?

    I have the knocking when I brake. Is it typically only the rear bushing that needs to be replaced ?

    Thanks for the video. If I want to replace my lower and upper control arms, do I need to empty out the air in the EAS system?

    • @atlanticbritishrp
      @atlanticbritishrp  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, you can take the control arms out without deflating the EAS system. Please refer to this video: th-cam.com/video/zTzKf8yMwsU/w-d-xo.html

    Hello and thanks again . How long does it take to replace a front upper control arm on a Range Rover sport? Thanks in advance .

    Does it hurt to deflate the air bags in the suspension? I am planning to replace both the air struts and the control arms at the same time. Thank you

    Don't use poly bushes on theses models of Range Rover Sport or LR3.

  • @duncanmil1
    @duncanmil1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm wondering about the poly bushings. It looks like the rear most control arm is on a different radius then the lower A arm and intended to flex the very flexy factory standard bush??

    Why on earth are you quoting tools in fractions of an inch? Vehicles are metric--you should be too.
