hello Robert, I've purchased your online guitar building class but i'm currently building a dreadnought. Do you know what the dimensions would be for the mortise and tendon cut? Love your videos. The class is really helping me figure this out. Thank you.
Hi Robert. I've been enjoying your videos for the last few years. Thanks for generously sharing your experience. I tried to order the O'Brien neck angle jig from LMI but they are out of stock now. Do you have plans to have them available from another supplier?
Thanks for watching. I am glad you are finding my videos useful. LMI is closing and is no longer offering the neck angle jig. I have plans for the original prototype available via my website. lutherieacademy.com/plans Perhaps in the future I can get someone to make a new version. Happy Building!
@@OBrienGuitars Você sabe a dificuldade em adquirir ferramentas e material aqui no Brasil. E com o valor do dólar que está um absurdo fica impossível comprar este Jig, infelizmente. Eu construí um similar pra meu uso.
Is the neck angle jig required in order to do a guitar neck? Say someone is just starting and does not want to spend that kind of money? How then would one do a neck?
Great question! You could figure out how to do it by hand if doing just one guitar but if you want some precision and repeatability I would get the jig. It makes life so much easier.
Robbie, you must be spying on me because I was just looking at this jig on lmi website yesterday. I remember you used to sell just the plans but now they don’t have the plans, I might bite the bullet & buy the jig.
Thank you for the info!

I use the same dimensions that I show in the video for the OM guitar.

RIP LMI. Any plans to have this available through another supplier?
I am working on it.
Hello, now that LMI is closed, how/where can I get one of your neck angle jigs? Thank you, Bob
You can purchase the plans at: lutherieacademy.com/plans
Do you recommend sealing the MDF after assembly?
Sure. That is not a bad idea.
Excellent!
DUKE! Always good to see the shop dog.
Awesome Robert! Have you tried doing archtops with this jig? Do you think it could be modified to hold the geometry of an Archtop body? Thanks!!
Yes. Some people have done this.
What are those low tech glue spreading devices you’re using?
Glue spreaders from Woodcraft
Muito bom, grande invenção.
Que bom que gostou! abraços.

@@eemacedo Conheço bem as dificuldades do Brasil sim e por isso eu criei esse jig. Faço voce também.
I’ve been thinking of buying it .. is it useable for ukuleles or would it be too big?
Some people have adapted it for use on ukes, mandolins and even archtops.
