Here is a tip for the 3.5mm at the bridge. I tape a dowel pin or drill bit that is the desired height(diameter) and tape it to the top and let the straightedge kiss the dowel. More accurate than measuring with a ruler.

Holy cow! That far in two days is impressive.

Good day, I am curious about the setup of the neck heel angle relationship to the body. Specifically at the pivot point. In order to get the 3.5mm at the saddle point you are pivoting the jig from the flat surface where the Mortise is cut. If your top is flat wouldn’t that tend to create drop off for the fretboard extension? Or does your top have a angle ? Again just curious.

I use a 30ft radius on the soundboard and glue the upper braces on a flat surface. With the neck angle there is a 64th to a 32nd dropoff from the body joint to the sound hole
I then level this from the top side of the fretboard.

Great demo Can I ask if the gap between the tenon and the body is for a tight join when you tighten the screw ? I'm always scared of these router action ;o)

That gap is intentionally left for expansion of the wood if needed.

I wanted to buy the plans for the Robert O'brien Mortise and Tenon Jig. I cannot find these anywhere. Is the neck angle jig actually the mortise and tenon jig? Does the neck angle jig hold the templates for routing the mortise and tenons?

You can find the plans here. lutherieacademy.com/plans It can be used for bolt on mortise and tenon or dovetail joints. The plans also show the templates.

@@OBrienGuitars Thanks! I just bought them. The title of the plans gave me a bit of a pause. I was delighted that I could select print actual size in poster mode, and the pdfs were printed to actual size with match lines. This will make the build so much easier!

I like rule number 1,2and3, a friend of mine made the mistake of not following that rule once 😃
