Leomon's Death was certainly sad. But what really hit me emotionally was later on in the series during Beelzemon's Redemption. He flies up towards where Jeri is imprisoned and is doing everything in his power to free her and make things right. Then, he summons forth all of his will and desire to save Jeri by unleashing a Fist of the Beast King (Leomon's attack) to break through to Jeri and free her. That moment always makes me cry.
I've said it elsewhere but the reason that moment hits so hard is that to Beelzemon's mind he failed to save her in that moment, he failed because he was the one who killed her partner... but he actually set the stage for her to be saved later. He makes her want to be saved. Before his assault she was just sat in a daze, going over the worst parts of her memories over and over, kept in a loop by the D-Reaper who then fed on her to get stronger, kept thinking she was a terrible person who didn't deserve to be saved... but he snaps her out of it during his attack on the kernel. He brings her back to reality, which is what needs to happen for healing to begin. He also manages to get Culumon inside with her, and the little guy manages to STOP her slipping back into the loop. While a heart-breaking moment in the series, it's also such a key part to the entire D-Reaper arc. He caused her to get to that point, but his earnest efforts to help her in the end opens up the path for her rescue by making sure she's ready to accept the next helping hand that comes to her.
I remember all the times I cried during Digimon: the 1st season when it ended. The 2nd season when it ended. The 3rd season when the Digimon floated away. I cried a lot during Digimon. 😅
I literally just watched this episode 2 days ago. That was so heartbreaking seeing him suffer so much in this nightmare. Digimon savers is so far one of the better seasons IMO. Didn't think I'd like it as much as I do.
That song replacing Butter-Fly in the end takes _A LOT_ from the impact the original scene has. That upbeat tune doesn't hit you as hard as those raw vocals till the drums crash down on us, bringing back the energy from the original opening and making a full circle for the story. 😭😭😭
Not really it was a false tearjerker because we already saw the end of the original digidestined series back in adventure 02 so we already know that's hiring Matt are going to see their partners against oh no it was fake it ain't hit nobody in the the fields when we already knew we were going to see them again
There a lot of more adult moments you could have touched on also, TKs parents' divorce, a toddler Tai almost killing his sick sister because he wanted to play, Ken wishing for his brother to disappear and him getting hit by a car, Jerry's mom death...Digimon was kinda heavy for a kids show
The ending of the 1st & 2nd seasons actually made me cry because it was basically my childhood back when I watched this and seeing clips to this day still gives me chills and makes me a little emotional. 😢
Kizuna was the most heartbreaking moment of the entire franchise. Seeing all those Digidestined from other countries, the ones the season 2 kids met when they traveled the world, was the most stunning thing they could have thought of. Here's something weird though, at the end of season 2 the season 1 kids and season 2 kids still had their partners with them even as adults. So, either the writers forgot about that entirely and we'll have to feel the tearful parting all over again, or they're creating a way to bring the season 1 Digimon back. Kizuna was the most heart breaking moment in all of anime
@@treymykel that's what I said. So either the writers forgot that and we'll have to go through the heartbreak all over again or they'll create a way to bring the 01 Digimon back. But still, no anime moment has ever pulled at my heart so much than Kizuna
I’m rewatching Tamers after so many years, and last night, I got choked up when Takato brought up Leomon’s death on the train ride. Whether it was Jeri or the D-Reaper clone he was talking to, I felt his pain when he wished there was a way he and the other tamers could’ve saved him before it was too late. 😭
Although Season 2 wasn't my favorite, the entire episode devoted to Ken's backstory hit me hard since I am a little brother myself who often felt trapped under the shadow of my older brother especially at the time of airing. The end of the episode had Ken tearfully reunited with a newly reborn Leafmon (Wormmon) and reconnecting with his distraught parents cemented that whole episode as a tearkerker.
Dude you could make an ENTIRE LIST from Digimon Savers, all that trauma has been imprinted in my head for YEARS *Kristy bonding with and then losing Biyomon (who comes back later but with no memory) *ALL THE DEATHS CAUSED BY KURATA F***K THAT GUY *Thomas being psychologically tortured being forced to live through the day his mother died *Kennan being brought to his biological family only for his father to tell him to f**k off so that his mother doesn’t suffer more trauma
Number 3: And that’s not even the end for poor Jeri. Long story short, she ends up being kidnapped and fed off of by a rouge program, ending with her wrapped up in cables while sitting in the thing’s brain and it actually nearly drives her into choking herself.
I'm 35 and season 1 and 2 were my favorite and really the only ones I got into. Alot of emotional scenes here Wizarding spirit came back in season 2 and was a sad goodbye too
for me 1 of the saddest moments that made me cry was in Ghost Game, where Bokomon died protecting Gammamon and then when he turned back after becoming Gulusgammamon the way he just started to cry really hits u in the feels
Something that bugs me about the Reboot in Tri is... doesn’t that mean Oikawa's sacrifice was for nothing, as the Reboot erased everything he did to restore the Digital World? It was the first thing I thought of when the Reboot was suggested in Tri and it bugs me no one ever brought it up
Digimon Tamers - Lionheart Leomon sacrifices himself to save Jeri & The other Tamers from Beelzemon. This one honestly will make you more Angry than Sad.
Hah, what timing. I am rewatching 02 and just finished watching the episode with Ken regaining his kindness and Wormmon after his defeat as the Digimon Emperor. And then I hop on to TH-cam to see this vid with Ken in the Thumbnail. XD Anyhow, because of that, I'd say that spot should not only contain Wormmon's death, but also the return of kind Ken too. I mean, his past was tragic, and he really suffered while looking for Wormmon. That entire episode was actually filled with tears - Ken's, his mother's, Wormmon's (or Leafmon's)... So yeah, I'd put Wormmon's death and the episode where Ken finds him in the Village of Beginnings again together, even though the episode in which Veemon first digivolves to Exveemon is between them.
Digimon Tamer's Ending should be mentioned, as well as the Locomon/Parasimon movie. And while Wormmon's death is heart renching, it is the episode where Ken get's a second chance that is better IMO. In fact, I disagree with a lot of these choices. What about "Shadow of the Beast King" when Beelzemon is doing everything he can to try and make it up to Jerri? Or like I said, the last episode of Tamers when they have to say goodbye (props to Takato & Henry's VA). How about in 02 when Cody's Grandpa goes over Oikawa's past. The part where Oikawa is walking through the cemetery and the grandpa says he had never seen a person look so sad. Even the last episode of Tamers when Koji runs and gives Koigi a hug on the operating table. Man too many great moments. I will agree Last Evolution deserves number 1 though!
Frigimon’s death in the original Japanese version is even sadder because you actually see the beam slice right through her. In the dub it only hits her in the back.
Amazing video watch mojo of digimon saddest moments in the franchise, fantastic job. I’m happy that digimon frontiers made the list,it’s my favourite season of all digimon ever.

#2 I cry not because the scene was vivid, but because I can’t go back rewinding how epic this scene as a kid Oh and also the Koji Wada’s Butterfly was there 😢
Oikawa's death was sad not just because he died but because his greatest dream was to see the Digital World alongside his best friend, who we find out was Cody's late father. Yet another life ruined by Myotismon
How is the scene in Tri when TK finds out Patamon's been infected not in this list!? Also when Patamon finds out himself? That scene when Patamon begs TK to kill him if he goes bad makes me cry every time and Johnny Yong Bosch gave an amazing performance as TK in that scene

In the end, I think the evil digimon kills himself bc all he wanted was to be loved or something like that. I don’t remember the name of the movie, but it made me cry everytime I watched it as a little kid
To me, Ken’s whole arc still hits me hard 😢😭💔
I was 6 when digimon adventure ended the part were they all left digital world made me cry so hard :)
Here's an idea for a future Digimon video. The top ten HUMAN villains in the Digimon franchise.
Wormmon's end always gets me
I've seen most of these, but the one that "got" me the hardest over the years was the death of Wormmon. :- (
You forgot when Kari thought Tai was dead. That was sad, so sad it made her digimon dark digivolve.
We might need a box of tissues for the next movie too.
