Literally an hour ago I was asking myself, "I wonder if there is a video about explaining the differences between all the different Digivice types?" Function wise, my favorite would be the Xros Loader, appearance wise, the D-Tector.
There is a legitimate discussion for if the Mega Man Battle Network and Star Force series were influenced by Digimon, for example the storing of a digital partner in a personal device, or the introduction to a new device or model with specific features between games/seasons. But it all could just be circumstantial.
You forgot to note two of the most notable D-Power digivice feats. Suzie used it to mind-link or remote-tame her antlyamon, and Ryo used his for form a 30 foot fractal code whip to discipline his cyberdramon
I forget to say something sooner, but EDEN Syndrome is caused by the Eaters, after they mutated from consuming Yuugo's data, attacked and consumed the data of someone using EDEN. The rumors that it was caused by illegally modified Digivices were mainly that - Just rumors.
I've always loved Tamers the most and out of the original Digivices the D-Ark/D-Power is my favourite as well since its utility seems so versatile, being able to give your Digimon partner all kinds of upgrades based on what cards you own and merging with them into their Mega form. However I will not deny that the Xros/Fusion Loader is pretty much the superior Digivice overall as it can hold and store a seemingly unlimited number of Digimon and use them to fuse into one another for even more crazy power ups. By the way, did you forget the Digivice from Digimon Adventure: 2020??
Theres something so... immersion breaking about app/smart phone digivices because a digivice is meant to be an other worldly advanced piece of technology, and a smart phone is just kinda mundane in our world :/
While normally I agree with franchises like Pokémon or Power Rangers there's something I think fitting about the smartphone ones from Kizuna. They had the D-Terminals in 02 so why not just use the latest tech available to link up
The Digital World, while existing as it's own thing, was created by humans after all. Every bits of data in that world comes from the human world's various servers and computers. The idea that human made object can become Digivice also date all the way back to Digimon World 1, where Mameo's Digivice was identical in appearance to his world (and ours) V-Pets toy.
I agree. Although there were devices based on real technology, like Izzy/Koushiro’s Digimon Analyzer, in the original series. I get what you mean though, I don’t like the smartphone/smart watch digivices. Not only because we probably won’t get a toy of the smartphone digivices, but like you said it breaks immersion from the fantastical world of Digimon. I agree, the digivices should look like innovative alien/advanced pieces of tech.
@MastarNinja that's not actually true. It was thought at first in universe that the digital world was a byproduct of human technology, but the digital world has always existed parallel to the human world. It's just that with the creation of modern technology we are able to observe and interact with it and use it as a medium of transportation to and from it
It should also be noted that the D-power is the American name for the Tamers digivice. In Japan, they are called D-Arcs, as they serve as arcs for data storage. Also, it is my favorite digivice. It is easily the most versatile, and I love the concept of biomerge digivolution!
It's because it's not needed. The process of armor evolution predates the creation of Digivices. In term of evolutions, the D-3 and the other Digivices just make it easier to evolve your partner, but as seen with Gatomon/Tailmon, Digimon can permanently achieve their next step without it. The lore also implied from the start that there were more than the main 8 Digimentals from 02, as they were used in "ancients time" by wild Digimon and the main 8 that we saw can't be more than 7 years old because of the Crest on them only existing for that long. That was later confirmed with the introduction of the Digimental of Miracle, which isn't related to any of the 8 crest, and doesn't return to Davis/Daisuke after being used. 3rd movie's situation (or first movie part 3 for the American version) is the same, as Willis and Davis/Daisuke were just allowed to borrow the two golden Digimentals, and weren't allowed to keep them after the battle was over. They don't own them, they just use them.
I have a question when it comes to Digivices if someone has two different Digimon partners does said person need a Digivice for each Digimon or is one still enough like in the Tamer verse if you had two Digimon partners how would that work?

@@youtubestudiosucks978 lol, they'll figure something out, the original tamers got about 12 digimon in total, more than 3 but i meant out of all their digimon cards, they choose only 1 to be their partner

The digivices that store Digimon in them, they remind me of Megaman: NT and Megaman: Star Force.

The D3 is my favorite 😃 I miss the black one I used to have. Loved having it when my friends and I would play irl digimon.
The only fact that's left out is I'm pretty sure the D-Power was referred to as the D-Arc (as in Noah's Ark), and D-Power was the localized name.
