- I've finally made a video to guide the community on making better Spider Sona designs for your Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, or Spider-Person! I might make more videos on this topic if this isn't comprehensive enough.

I'm surprised there weren't more suits that went into the whole home-made trope that every spiderman seems to go through at least once. It's honestly my favorite type of spiderman suit simply because of the visual implication of practicality.

When I was younger, I had a spider man oc named tarantula, and his powers were caused by him being a mutant. He was homeless, so his costume was made of things he could easily scrounge for in shelters and what not, like his mask with lenses from old pool goggles.

What's your opinion on the new design for Peter's suit in the Insomniac games? I remember you lightly criticizing the original suit for looking a tad bit edgy. I personally like the updated patterns and the deeper shade of red, but I don't like how they made the white spider kinda flat.
Honestly, I retract anything I said about the PS4 Suit in the last suit video, I think they’re doing great. I just wish the orangey red was actually red on the advanced suit. The new one is cool, I just wish the blue was more of a cobalt blue. (Also yes, this is me on the alt account)
@@psmburner The red was a huuuge problem for me, I only ever used it at night since that was when it actually looked red most of the time. I love the suit but the orange knocked it down for me so much.

In my opinion, a good spider-man suit is that it keeps it simple, not too much noise, and it is unique from the previous incarnations/ suit

To be fair: Andrew's Spidey is only a menace up until the bridge scene because he wasnt being Spiderman at that point. He was being a god damn vandal with a vendetta. Thats probably why they changed the suit in TASM 2 (aside from just brand synergy since it looks close to the suit in the Raimi films).
Anyways, idk if i'd call the TASM 1 suit "scary." Thats more so the Symbiote suit in the Raimi films. The insignia on the TASM 1 suit is more in line with the fact thay Andrew Garfield's Spidey does a lot of Spider-like actions with his movement and his attacks.

Raimi suit is my favorite design, but I also like the color of Andrews lenses from TASM, along with that the interactive eyes of Hollands are also quite brilliant.
So if I were to create my own Spider-Man uniform, those are the design principles I’d follow.
I feel like the tobey suit is like the middle grounf between the andrew and tom. Not too edgy, not too light hearted. Perfect for the mix of drama and cheesyness of the raimi movies.

There's quite a STARK contrast from Tom's suit compared to Tobey and Andrew's.
Most of the artists do their OC with hoods, like Spider Gwen style, it's a bit overrated but it's ok. I would do an almost classic style like the Spectacular Spider-Man from 2008, but with slight changes. Just saying.
Personally I don't really have a problem with the Spider-Gwen kinda hood, but I prefer having like casual clothes over a suit like Miles does in the game and the movie.

Funny thing about it is Spider-Man suit should look kinda menacing. Not so dark as TASM1 suit, but not so simplified and "light-hearted" as Tom's suits.

@@nikcantsnipe yeah, it should. In some comics he explains that, and that was one of the main ideas of Steve Ditko for the creation of the suit.
@@Branxfear yeah but Ditko was also a weirdo Ayn Randian fanboy that made Peter much weirder whenever Stan wasn't around and besides, that's NOT the Spider-Man most people think when they think Spider-Man. They think of JMS era or Loeb's take or Bendis run via Ultimate or early Slott era or even the current Spencer take. Spider-Man has dark moments, yes. But he's not Batman. He is selfish in his own way, he does struggle with anger but he is still the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man and unlike most street level heroes in the Marvel Universe, Spider-Man isn't a crimefighter like Daredevil, he's straight up a superhero. He inspires and helps. He may sulk or brood in private but he's all quips and responsibility out there. So nah. Unless you're doing the symbiote story or a totally different version like Superior Spider-Man.
@@nikcantsnipe most people don't read comics. And I'm talking about the suit, I think the suit should be in a middle point between menacing and light-hearted, the light-hearted versions are commonly very simple to the point they look like a cartoon version than an actual comic version.

If I had to make my own Spiderman Costume (For me Spiderwomen) i think I would have it where my hair only comes out on the back side of my head (if that makes sence think something like Avatar Yangchan from ATLA except maybe the hair goes back more idk) and I would probably change the red to a more Red-Voilet lol
Look up Jessica Drew Spider-woman from the Ultimate universe of Marvel (or 1610) She has the same kinda mask that you are taking about with the hair flowing out the back

I’ve made a couple of my own Spider-Man suits, one for myself and one for my girlfriend. My suit is the Night-Spider and my girlfriend’s is the Scarlet Widow as it is a Spidy suit and her favourite Avenger is Black Widow. I made the Night Spider suit on Lego Marvel Superheroes 2 using Black Bolts body parts, the Spider-Man homecoming head in black, Spider-Man 2099 web cape which I dropped for my updated version and Mordos shoulder spikes which I added a smaller pair a little further down in the updated version

i have a question:
does the suit need to be lighter or darker? or it can be whatever color you'd like?
He talks about colours at the 7 minute mark; the gist is if your character’s personality is more fun and easygoing, use lighter/“purer” colours for their suit (or use lighter tones of certain colours) and the opposite of your character is more on the serious, “emo” side
Edit: I broke this rule with my Spidersona’s suit - she’s very lighthearted and humorous as a hero, yet her suit colours are navy blue and maroon with silver being the only light colour used (and white for her eyepieces). Should also be noted that these rules can probably be very much taken or left, since at the end of the day it’s _your_ design and _your_ story :j
My Spider-Man OC is called Spider-Skull and his suit is green and dark green so he’s like a edgy Spider-Man the blues are dark green and the red is green, the spider symbol is a skull with spider legs on it, at the back I haven’t thought about the back that much but that’s basically my Spider-skull suit
Not a bad take, I would maybe recommend adding messy webbing if that's what you're going for, making the back logo the same as the front, making it look similar, and maybe adding somextra gear and stuff like that. (Sorryou never got a response until today, just saw this comment.)
for the toriel/spider-man suit I would just extend the lavender webbing segments down to the shoulders or something lol

The ideal spider-man suit for me is one that’s nice and cheery during the day and fucking terrifying at night
The same details could give different moods based on the scenerio and the lighting would make all the difference
Clever. It fits as a kind of edgy Spider-Man with a clean web-pattern, darkish colors, realistic logos, and big friendly eyes being kind of angry. Especially from perfect front angles. It works for this Spider-Man who’s in a serious world, but still light-hearted and quippy at times. Sorry foreplying so late, I just saw this comment.

That is very unlikely but maybe it would be a pretty neutral combination of colours

@@ajd489 Thats what i was thinking too. either that, or a small, roundish spider on top of a much more sinister or menacing spider. and a mixture of friendly shades mixed with darker colors.

Ur kinda wrong about the logos and TASM1 Cause the suit needs a slightly smaller logo and a big logo isn’t that scary or dark but smaller it will look appropriate and scary
I am wrong about nothing when it comes to the TASM1 suit. The logo is worked perfectly into the formatting of the red, changing it and making it smaller would detract from the flow of the red chest piece.

Hey man about what you said at the end about not showing your face I just want you to know you shouldn’t be ashamed of what you look like, if you need a boost of confidence maybe try a new hairstyle but honestly, especially as someone on social media you really just gotta stop caring what people think and be you. If it’s for privacy reasons I completely understand but I myself used to have severe self esteem issues and what helped me was a combination of Jesus, a glow up, friends and a lot of music and workouts lol. Very interesting points i havent thought of while designing my suit. I didn't even think to tailor the suit to the Character and how they behave, or how even the eye shape can effect the feel of the Spider-man.
Tho one design detail i like that I'm trying to make work is rather than having the webbing on red, I'm having it on the blue sections. Then im having the webbing pattern blend right into the Classic style underarm webbing.

My spiderman/spidersona, like(most) spidermen, was bitten by a radioactive spider, however, he didnt get powers, he just contracted radiation poisoning and fucking died. Then he came back, and stole some webshooters from Stark Labs, and the rest is history

I am extremely hard to impress when it comes to a custom Spider-Man suit to be honest, I rarely like custom ones
I am really wanting to make (fan made) Valorant's version of Spider-Man named "Arachnid". So I've already thought of the color scheme, a little bit dark red and blue, red spider eyes. He will kill for good and will use guns (obviously) so what should his symbol, suit look like in your opinion?
Edit: Forgot to mention that he'll have webs only on specific parts. Not the whole suit like Peter Parker's.

@@wyin2454 webbing will only be on the web gauntlets (web shooters), Lenses will be sharp like fortnite spider-man's but will give a little bit of round-ish and scary feeling because he's still a good person so I wanna maintain that feeling. Accents of the costume will be the purple spider logo on the front and back that will be made of glass stuff and have purple radianite glowing inside it indicating that he is radiant.
@Pakistanichad_ Sorry foreplying late. Not a bad take so far, I would just recommend keeping the design, formatting, and colors consistent, and make the lenses and logos have a similar vibe and level of angularness and roundness. You can either make the lenses emotive, either through a camera method where they can squint, and turn smaller, sharper, and more angular, you can go full cartoon style, and make them entirely expressive, or pick something that's sharp, while still not entirely angular. For example, the TASM1 lenses, Raimi, Ditko, Scarlet Spider, comic Big-Time lenses, justo name a few. As for balancing the purple, I'd recommend making the lenses purple, or have a purple rim. As for the arms, you can give them purple web wings, purple web shooters, purple webs, purple web triggers, purple fingers, purple palms, purple gloves, justo name a few. As for the chest, you can give it a black logo, lined with purple. The soles can be purple, or you can rim parts that are purple. There is also potential in a purple web cape. You got a lot of ways to balance outhe purple, I would just make it consistent. Of course, you can do 1, multiple, or all of the suggestions. Or you could also just shade thentire costume in purple if you're making it look comic-booky. You can also give it purple armor, if you'd like, to fithedgy, though maybe, tactical.

With my Spidersona, Night Spider, I have a simple logo with the top two legs very loosely wrap around the shoulders, and I used grey and dark grey in the suit, but I imagine him as being a kind and almost goofy character.
My Spider-Man suit would be:
Mark Bagley lenses.
Todd McFarlane boots.
Jack Kirby/Steve Ditko gloves.
Scott Johnson back logo.
John Romita Sr front logo.
And both with the colors, webbing and belt. Rank it.
If i was a writer for my story I'd keep it as close to the classic as possible with a few differences.
High school era: Darker colors, bigger emblem and big eyes. A mixture of the AF15 suit and ultimate suit. Also add underarm webs for support since web swinging isnt perfected in case he falls. Also I'd add minor mess ups and imperfections on the web pattern to show hes not perfect at sewing yet. Replace his signature blue with a very dark black, as this peter is inexperienced, loses control of his temper and uncle Ben's incident is still fresh. He will have organic webbing but cannot shape them on his own and they splatter, so shooters are needed to regulate and shape them. Web shooters are big and clunky similar to his OG ones in the 60s, as they are the first design and peter is just a kid. They will be worn on the outside. Will be lanky and skinny, and 5'8 in height
College era (early 20's): Light blue replaces the black, since peter wants to look more "friendly" as a hero. Smaller eyes akin to Romita Sr to show he's aged a bit. Sharper and smaller front logo to look more experienced. Also he will have broader shoulders from all that web swinging and upper body workout and be 5'10 in height. Ditch the underarm webs since he perfected his swinging. Web shooters are smaller and more advanced showing peter improved them with experience. Theyre small enough to conceal under his suit now. Web pattern will be clean and symmetrical from practice.
Adult (Late 20s to early 30s). Romita eyes will be kept. His emblem is now bigger again but still sharp. His years of being spiderman made him jacked in the upper body. The red on the suit will be a bright cherry red as he now has stable finances and can afford quality dye. Blue will be a nice sleek indigo to contrast the red. Peter no longer needs web shooters as years of practice made him learn how to use organic webs properly. He will also be 6'0 in height, as he is purely adult and in his prime. Webbing pattern will be messier than ever, since he got tired of constantly repairing the suit and making it all perfect

I found my old spider man comic book I made in 2013 the suit in the comic was just the symboite suit and I only found 2 issues. Comic 1 the main villain was a crazy guy that thinks he’s kingpin the second issue has venom bond with one of spider man’s friends and the third issue well i know there was going to be a white symboite
I'd send you my design but I don't know if you have a Discord and my character's suit isn't really a suit, you can probably guess what it is though
i made my own in a realistic approach, like how someone who's not a pro at sewing would, a Ballet collant, thigh highs and high gloves, everything matches in fabric and i just had to make the mask and the details, it's pretty solid and looks a lot better than most fully handmade ones
