  • I've gotten myself into more chainsaws. I've always wanted to run something other than a Stihl chainsaw. Today i got the opportunity to run some Husqvarna and echo chainsaw's
Today My Buddy Joe from ‪@oakiewoodsman‬ channel came by to let me run his Echo ported 620 and Husky saw's to see what I think of them.

I do tend to pick up my Huskys more than my Stihls because they are a little faster but mainly because of the less vibration. I've got white knuckle from many years of making a living with a chainsaw that it really makes a big difference.

Nice stuff! Always had Stihl myself. One of my buddies is an echo guy and I ran his cs590 and it was great. He just bought the 7130p so I’m eager to try that! And my other buddy just picked up a 572xp and that thing is runner to. Echo and husky definitely make a great saw. New sub here 👍🏻

I’ve owned a few Husky’s and Stihl’s over the years and the 545 husky I have now is hands down the saw I can run for the longest period of time before feeling fatigued or numb hands

I don’t have a ton of experience on the smaller echos but they seem pretty nice, and the 5 series huskys are amazing. I run all saws from all brands and eras and the new 5 series small saws are the best and fastest but for 70cc up I still love the older Stihls or 3 series huskys… nothing will beat a 064 or 390

All my saws from 50-60cc run 0.325" chain, except one, a Poulan Pro PP5020AV that has 0.375" chain. It is less smooth than the others, so finer pitch chain helps.

The echo will probably be the last non strato saw in the 70 to 80cc range sold in north America.
Look for a 372 with a gray choke lever, compression release on side of cylinder and no x-torque mark on the recoil.
For a original 372. A blue choke lever is a emissions 372 made post 2010 or so.
    .
Or just order an original edition 372 from Brazil or china gray saw.
    LOL

When I got mine about 5 years back.
I just ordered a 365 and swapped all parts on it I wanted.
I was basically trying to recreate a limited edition 372XPW just with a 52mm piston, as the special oem only 51.4mm is no longer available worldwide.
I do another one some time, I'll likely try a 390 carburetor.
      .
My rule for china stuff is.
If the oem no longer sells it as a new saw, then I say it's free game to the aftermarket support. And the gen1 372 meets that rule in my book.

I have only had 2 Huskys, both were smooth, low vibration 50cc saws. They love to rev. You need to let them eat at their own pace. If you're used to a torquey saw that you can dog in, they might feel wimpy. But if you let the saw set the pace and keep a sharp chain, you might like them. The two were a 50 and a 346xp, by the way. Husky makes their cranks in 3 pieces. They claim it allows it to be better balanced, I think they are right. These small, light saws are more fun to run than the big saws.

    • @TheRustyGarageandHomestead
      @TheRustyGarageandHomestead  หลายเดือนก่อน

I agree with you. I tried to dog in several times and they didn't like it. If I kept the saw up in the powerband there was no need to dog in. They riped right through and where smooth

I was always a Husky guy but I bought a Stihl MS462 last year. It is better than a Husky 572 and I really wanted to try a Stihl. I also have a ported Husky 550XP and it outcuts my 56cc 357, so I now mainly cut with a 50cc and 72cc saw. I would like to try a new 562 MKII. @@TheRustyGarageandHomestead I have run one. It would be hard for me to purchase a 462 over a 500i. It is a bit lighter, and I think the chassis is a bit more stout but the "neat factor" of the 500i is so appealing. So far the 500i appears to be a good saw, just a bit fragile in some ways. I certainly would be a proud 462 owner however.
