I love this advice, I have been watching these videos all day and they are so military in their approach. I have a 2yo that STILL wakes for me during the night, pregnant with number 2 and terribly affraid of making the same mistakes. I love my daughter, hearing her cry is torture for me so thank you for being so aware of this and rather than promoting crying as the only option!
You're welcome Bianca. We believe in a holistic approach with children and looking at their entire 24 hour day. Not just the Night or Day independently.
Ok I think my 3.5mo baby is definitely in this 4mo sleep regression… he keeps taking short daytime naps and keeps waking 1.5-2.5hrs each night around 3am and on… ugh 😣
From around 4 months, your baby may be waking every 2 hours overnight because their sleep cycles have matured and shortened to be just 2 hours in length, after which they will enter a very light sleep phase and easily wake, often needing help get back to sleep. The solution is to encourage "self-settling" which means that your baby can happily drift off back to sleep on their own. Take a look at what your Little One is needing from you to get back to sleep and gradually start to put them back drowsy rather than fully asleep. You can then move to calming them and putting them back into their cot less and less drowsy.
You are amazing !!! I am curious: you are saying it's good to have a totally dark room but when i need to feed him what do i do? Switch on a small light ? Thank you in advance ❤️
@@littleonesbabysleep Can we keep the dim red night light on all night? I’ve just switched my from white to red and put it on white noise, I’m desperate for a better nights sleep but I also like to be able to see my 5 month old or if he wakes for a feed as I am nursing and I don’t like to turn on any lights. How long does the regression last, im sure all babies are different but I need something to look forward to 🥹😭
Thank you so much for the advice. I struggle with white noise. I sleep in the same room as my 4 month old and I cannot stand it! Is it worth while to use it for naps but not overnight or pointless? We also have the riff raff sleep toy with the 40min white noise, which I can tolerate, but of course it goes off!
I think my baby's full on sleep regression... 4 and a half months. Although I rock her to sleep, I was able to put her in her crib and she would stay sleeping, now she instantly awakens. I was even able to use side settling and it worked twice. Now I don't know what to do anymore as I'm tired all the time and need to cater for my 4yo as well. Wich sleep program do you recommend?
Thanks for the advice. I tried this method today but I think I did it all wrong. I nursed my LO and every time I put him down he protested. Eventually I had to hold him until he fell asleep to then put him in his crib. This was for all three naps. How long do does it take to get the use to being put down and able to sleep without crying. The poor little chap was not happy with me 😞😞
Oh and he started waking frequently last week Monday. I’m exhausted!! We have blackout blinds and have only started using white noise today. I thought he was doing well for bed time but it didn’t last. I put him down while he was content. He laid calmly and started sucking on his hands for at least 15mins (He also used my hand). He then started crying. I’m guessing he was one a bit overtired and bored of sucking on his and my hands. I picked him Up and nursed him to sleep as he had passed his bedtime by 25mins.
Hi Nessa, it can take a bit of time for them to cotton on to what you are trying to do and some protesting is to be expected. You are changing how he knows how to go to sleep. Our Baby Prpgram can help you with this www.littleones.co/products/baby
No, that isn't fully self settling :) They aren't self settling until they can replace the dummy themselves as the dummy is a parent assisted sleep aid until that happens.

We do recommend using white noise for all sleep. It is a really calming settling tool for babies :)

Hi Oana, the Baby Program would be best for your LO www.littleones.co/products/baby

Little Ones Thanks for your reply. A friend has shared the program with me.
Hiii :) my 4.5 months baby can sleep in his crib with pacifier when i am paddling a little. Does this means he can self settle?
No, that isn't fully self settling :) They aren't self settling until they can replace the dummy themselves as the dummy is a parent assisted sleep aid until that happens.
