Pull the muffler cover and make sure the piston is good. Then check the simple stuff first. Flush the fuel tank and make sure all the debris is gone. New Stihl orange fuel filter and an NGK plug. It may have to be flashed. Keep us posted.
@@richardflagg3084 I did throw a new fuel filter and NGK in it. Since I don’t own a diagnostic tool I tried to do the things I could before taking it to a stihl dealer. I am decently mechanically able, but what specifically should I look for on the piston that would indicate a problem (obviously if metal parts fall out when I open the muffler cover I’ll know)? I will keep you posted in the following weeks after a trip to the dealer. Thanks.

My 500i is doing the exact same thing. Pop, pop, won’t idle.
