amazing, this is the type of run that's more entertaining to watch than a movie
Cryphon seems so relaxed and so "un-serious," which is really cool in a speedrunner. He makes the whole run seem so breathless and simple, and this run has to be the most complicated and precise looking run I've seen on GDQ so far, so that goes to show his attitude and skill... Beyond impressed.

This was the only game I watched this year on AGDQ.
the undertale one was nice though
Easily one of the best runs at the event if not the best. Cryphon brought the gameplay skills and improv while Shenanagans is just a natural on the mic.
That prison skip was amazing. It's crazy to think new skips are still being found in Halo 2 at this point in the games life. Also amazing sword flying throughout by cryphon.
Thats because this game on legendary is a joke. And the more you die the less patient you get leading to well...

What a fun video. In general I think GDQ's runs are fascinating but this is definitely in my top 3. It doesn't hurt that I played the Halo 2 campaign probably a few dozen times.
The Golden Sun music at the start made me smile, love those games.

07:04 lel this was something people told other people to say in english a lot in like 2 grade a lot. "runcarsnowpen" sounds like "runkar snoppen" witch if translated directly to english becomes something like "masturbating the penis" so you would say "say run car snow pen fast but in english" i died of laughter and got kind of a nostalgic flashback at the same time. thx to whoever donated that

I found like...90% of these strats as a teenager with my friend back in the day, but I was never able to do them consistently or smoothly like you guys do (and also never did them on legendary, only heroic). I thought it was hilarious when I found the spectre trick with Johnson at the end. Props to a great run!
And yeah, I was super pissed when they patched out sword flying. Made the game so much more fun.

The way the enemies behave in combat is just awesome to watch, they are hiding and waiting to ambush you or they are looking for you if they can't see you etc.
No battle with the covenant is exactly the same.

In delta halo once I got sick of dying while trying to skip the ghosts and turrets but then I ran into a total of 12 ghosts trying to fight them off. Luckily new strats exist
i have watched this speedrun since it was live and just have to say that at 56:23 there is 4 ghost at the bottom not 3

as speedrunners im surprised they didnt know how to skip through the elevator, me and my brother were fucking around in the co-op campaign, and those ledges in the corners can be jumped down, and if you jump from a certain one, you can slip in to the door, it was a pain though, because like dumbasses, we played on legendary, and the two big dudes there shreded my ass, and thank god for checkpoints! it made one right as i got on the platform for the doors -_- with nowhere to go, and my little brother who sucks at games being stuck on the evevator for the entire time you're supposed to be on it, we had to restart the mission

Random question but what is the deal with this game's aspect ratio? Gameplay looks normal but some of the onscreen interface looks stretched really wide, especially the reticule and radar.

Anyway. He's one of the clearest and most enjoyable commentators on these gdq things. I was going to just put this on the background but seems like i actually have to listen to what's happening..
How did he get the phantom to despawn when he did the gondola trick in Regret? I know in MCC you have to kill specific enemies or else the phantom will drop off the hunters
yzfBrandon I don't think he did. Instead, he hopped onto the other gondola and activated it, making the enemies spawn on the gondola you hop on early. If you do it that way, then you have to kill the enemies that spawn on the gondola. If he did the "god despawn" then he wouldn't have had to jump on the other gondola at all and could've just stayed on the first gondola he got on early. The Despawn makes the enemies spawn on the gondola you're supposed to be on instead, but you don't have to kill them because the gondola you're on keeps going anyway. If he did the Despawn, he wouldn't have been able to swordfly from the gondola to the fuel rod room because the enemies on the turrets would've never spawned. In the original halo 2, it's better to not do the despawn because it's a little slower. In MCC it's a lot safer and faster to despawn since you can't sword fly, but it's still very hard to pull off and very inconsistent in my experience.
