Watching one of these ages ago I remember the runners joking about how they would ask the glitch hunters if they got any new two betrayals tech cuz it was such a hard level.
I was already a Halo player when I played Library on Legendary, so I was a bit better prepared than most. It ended up becoming one of my favorite levels to play. The level that I have memories of spending hours on was Cairo Station in Halo 2.
So I'm assuming the reason you can see the entire map when out of bounds with new graphics is because the new graphics have to be loaded in, in it's entirety to be able to switch back and forth between old and new graphics. I'm not a game developer but that's what sounds logical to me.

Super easy-going run with tons of incredible tricks. That banshee strat on Two Betrayals is absolutely nuts. Perfect way to spend a Sunday night.
