      +robinsonsauto its a constant struggle keeping track of that pesky can of beer!!!! We seem to have the same issue tracking down the last tool we used as well, its a never ending cycle.

      I have a a very small chip in the bottom of my motor I hve a nuther complete motor I was wondering if I could take the side casing off the spare one n put it tn on my motor its the left side im just in w.v n while that's being done id like to bore it out to the first stage is thata job u would do ???? I have never trusted to send my stuff to a shop but ur tn video was so good I NC an n tell u know what ur doing n u dnt just slop stuff together I trust n know u would do hell of gm a a job

      @grindinggearsgarage9578  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +ryan howard yeah switch cases around is done all the time. mainly from the chain breaking or the master link popping and cracking the left side case by the drive sprocket. we do not do any machine work on cylinders but I would find a good machine shop in your area and have them tackle it. If you take it to an atv shop they are just the middle man and will find a machine shop usually.

    • @thomashoward4427

      I would like to have u do do u know around what something like that would cost I wont hold to u that price just an idea

    • @grindinggearsgarage9578
      @grindinggearsgarage9578  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +ryan howard it honestly varies by machine shop and location. my best advice is shop around as many as you can.

    Hey I’m about to install a new carrier and noticed my sprocket hub is wobbling is that related to bad bearings?

  • @roberthaberman9491
    @roberthaberman9491 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    What size nut did you use to drive the bearings in?

  • @chadlepak961
    @chadlepak961 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    When I did mine it had 2 bearings on each side of the Carrier. Is that normal or should I put 1 on each side?

  • @cs652806
    @cs652806 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good video but you should have broke the axle nut loose before anything else. That way the chain would have prevented it from turning if you left it in gear.

    I watched this video and I took it all apart and put the new bearing in and now the axle nut and the brake disc holder doesn't slid on enough,any ideas? Thanks

    • @grindinggearsgarage9578
      @grindinggearsgarage9578  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The axle sometimes needs a few taps to pop into the carrier. the hub for the sprocket should be all but against the carrier

    • @keenanjohn6671
      @keenanjohn6671 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Grinding Gears Garage i cant seem to get it to slide into it

    • @grindinggearsgarage9578
      @grindinggearsgarage9578  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      do you happen to have everything threaded in? as you thread the nut in (reverse thread) you gain more space

    • @grindinggearsgarage9578
      @grindinggearsgarage9578  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Erich Ireland I purchased the quad with bad axle bearings, and I parted it out and never got to ride it. Good quality bearings that are taken care of will last a while

    • @grindinggearsgarage9578

    is this what i need if the rear end is shifting around

    • @hammer49946
      @hammer49946 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jack up the rear and move the axle back and forth up. You will be able to feel a lot of play if the bearings are bad.

    • @2andrewneff
      @2andrewneff 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hammer49946 I pulled the axle out and the bearing looked fine, the caliper looks to be rounded out definitely need some help

  • @ravenracing797

    do you have to use a press to get the bearings in or is their another way I don't have a press haha

    • @grindinggearsgarage9578

      you can just drive the nut out with a hammer and punch
