I lived in Winnipeg, Canada for 4 years, completed my bachelors. And moved back to India 10 months back. I must say all the topics covered in this video are on point! It's extremely difficult to survive in -40 degrees temperature (in Winnipeg). And job competition is very high not only for skilled jobs but basic jobs like Mcd, sobeys etc.
Not gonna lie, trust me we are living the best life in India :)

You are a kind soul. If I ask you what would you do if India's situation was like Pakistan nowadays? What would you do if you see your future going down and you fear for the safety and secure future of yourself and your kids given the situation that you are well-settled but keeping in mind the country's situation you just wouldn't know for how long? So in that case what would you do?

All the points are valid bro. Students feels that they are getting demotivated by such facts. They need to understand that there are pros and cons of every country. I am Manager in amazon and thought to study in canada, even applied in a college but withdrawn my application due to 2 major reason. 1) Part time jobs in harsh winter while studying 2) worst Healthcare where waiting goes months.

@@Theactualstoic @Ank Get your Facts right buddy. Apart from GTA, Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary, things and shops are closed around 4-5PM in Winters. Regarding your 1st point, who are getting virtual jobs? due to easy money trap, most of the students start working as Warehouse / store managers or securtiy guard as their full time job. Main reason is rising inflation and need of money due to which students are not able to focus on their skill. I am a Quality Manager in Amazon, even If I move there, they will not consider my experience. It's a straight line. My sister lives in North York and I don't have to believe in brigth youtube videos. 30-40% immgrants left Canada and the number is still rising. Healthcare issues are hugh and it's all over canada. One of my known has suffered for 1-2 months with Kidney stones. They don't have enough doctors. Also, When you talk about free then let me clarify that it's not free, there is a amount which will be covered. Example - As a student your dental cover can be of 500 Dollars. If you are getting a root canal surgery then it can go upto 600-700 dollars which means anything extra would be paid from your pocket. Also, just consultation fees is 150-200 Dollars.

Everywhere situations is same. Then i dropped my plan to move abroad and i live with my family with too much happiness..

Despite getting a decent headstart in my career, I feel that Canada's Fool's paradise.
    1. The cost of living is phenomenally high.
    2. The work life balance doesn't exist. Corporate slavery does exist here.
    3. Home sickness and ageing parents. I would feel guilty if I'm not with my parents at the time when they need me the most.
    4. Compromise on life style because getting established takes forever and it is very, believe me, very, expensive country.
    5. Healthcare- SCAM! Don't expect anything until you're literally dying/facing existential crisis.
    6. COLD! I think cold is an understatement. 😭
Ultimately you get a good sleep when you rest your head on the pillow of your "home". Canada, to me, is like a 5 star hotel (metaphorically). You would enjoy the newness of Canada, but eventually, your heart and soul would always try hard to resist change.
Suggestion: - You don't want to live like a rat in a basement or in a pigeonhole for what? For claiming the world that you live in a so called developed country? Come on, let's be practical, if you've a decent job, happy life and no solid reason to immigrate, don't be a part of a life changing misadventure.

My friends father developed eye fungus and doctors wasted their time for 1.5months and gave wrong medication as every time they were visiting the hospital, some new doctor was there. The steroids medication that was prescribed didn’t help but completely made it worse which led to failure of vision and they immediately had to go to india for faster treatment. It is insane that they aren’t prioritizing someone who is in pain all the time and suffering through something this extreme. It was really hard hearing this experience from my close friend :(

Every place has its ups and downs. I came to Canada when I was 20 and I have been here over a decade. Almost everything he mentioned here is true, but there are advantages also. You have to look at your own goals in life and decide what works. Regardless, if you are well settled in India, absolutely, think a few times before making the move. Its most likely not worth it, there is very little here that would not get in India.

GTA is decent, other places not so much. Its not world class by any means but I'm also not paying for it directly. We faced a lot of problem of health care system for very very small health problems also.missing our old friends and relatives, temples where we go regularly in India. Without knowing driving we can not move out and required to stay whole day at home. But I spend a lot of money to learn and get a driving lesson so that I and my wife atleast can go out In malls or Downtown to get relaxed otherwise we senior citizens get very much bored by sitting at home.
Finally we came to India and decided not to go canada in future. We got so many other bad experiences...........

Before 20-25 years, we didn't have Internet,.smart phones or apps to make life easy, and Canadian winter was severe than now. Still we survived and settled our family. Yes we are smartphone generation but its like a double edge sword because too much of information confuses and impacts decision making unlike you who had lesser choices, hence less complications. You had all Canadians around you who treated you with respect & polite attitude unlike today where Old Indian Immigrants take advantage of New Indian Immigrants. Your generation took the pie, got houses, earned well and you were lucky instead to belong to a less competitive era unlike ours where every one is either an entrepreneur, software developer or something else. These are the facts. Housing price is sky rocketing. Every second person is a real estate broker. Government is inviting millions of people and yet doing nothing in addressing this situation. Their main motive is to feed on the money the immigrants brings. Get taxes from them in order to support their aging population and short labor. But, I think housing is a secondary problem, the primary problem in my opinion is a health care. There are not enough hospitals. Even the already established hospitals have huge shortage of staffs. Sometimes there is wait time of 7-8 hrs in emergency. And, it can be only understood once you get sick or come across any emergency situation before that it’s all great. Not discouraging anyone but better come prepared instead of feeling surprised.

All your advices are right and things people should consider them before coming here. In India we are honestly quite spoils. We have others to take care of cooking, cleaning etc. If you earn enough you enjoy all these benefits. But, I want to point out one thing, the cooking and cleaning is not only valid for Canada but any country where labour isn’t cheap. This is true for North American, Australia, Europe and and and. Also, for job experience, if you have enough experience but only Indian one, there is a work around to it. You can choose to take less salary in the beginning and start with a company in your field, or in my case I had done freelance work with US companies. This makes you enough to survive and eventually you can present this work and previous experience together to get a good salary. Be prepared to work extra hard here and think differently.

Most of the Schengen countries prefer to employ people within the European Union, as that is the cheapest and less time consuming for employers. Also they prefer someone who speaks the language of the country. Of course there are high demand of very highly skilled jobs, where they hire people from outside the EU. In Belgium where I live many Indians have jobs in the IT field , or Medical field, after their training here, also in the language here. Some of the jobs dont require Dutch or French knowledge.

Currently social media is flooded with misleading content of lifestyle such as flashy things people buy right after they land to show off on social media back home. I find that dumb ( us Indians are materialistic society let's accept that)
For new people coming into this country be it work or study you have to start from the bottom or atleast have to take 1step back. Your education, experience, networking, work ethic everything will play major role so be ready for that. Every individual has a different experience and there is no easy way out. If you stay on the track for your career and stay away from any debt trap. You can absolutely make it happen. Choice is yours whether you wanna share a dingy basement and cry or you wanna be a smart headstrong person and make that good life happen. I still consider moving here is a wonderful opportunity not everyone know how to use it.

Very good for people who are poor in india and have no proper job; because they have nothing to loose; also good for people who are willing to do hard labor jobs in trucking, factory, farming its a great country to move

Anyone doing labour that doesn’t pay good in india like street sweeper garbage pick up cleaning malls tree climbers small driving jobs or something that pay very little if you come to Canada work in dishwasher warehouse jobs McDonald’s delivery jobs you can convert the money to India and see the money you’ll be happy and to get that converted to india you have to work very hard here in Canada all the jobs are very hard saving is another big headache 🥺 I know only way is to sleeping in a basement with maximum 5 people for at least 10-12 years save everything and run away from this country to india open a business stay there this is the only way nothing else just run away from here that’s 🙏

Overall i think these factors only apply on those who are well settled in India/Pak. Students can survive in canada as they are willing to make their life at best.
I just cleared 12 and e'm preferring alberta as it is easiest state to get PR.
I am ready to start from 0 as i can see there is nothing behind me back here as well

same for me! I'm currently living in Dubai, and the education here sucks so my choices were either India or Canada. And in both countries, I would have to start from scratch anyways. I felt that based on my personal lifestyle and needs, I would not be able to survive in India. I am a good public speaker but I have a fear of crowds, I genuinely start hyperventilating when I see too many people around me, and we all know how the streets and roads are in India. I feel like I'm more used to living in a city and thus decided to choose Canada.

It gets very overwhelming here and I’ll be going back home this year. I won’t be applying for my second course. Life is so tough and unnecessarily expensive here.
A fact about Canada is that INDIANS DO NOT HELP INDIANS. I went to Tim hortons to have the crispy chicken. He was about to make it a wrap so I told him to make it in the bun. He started laughing and said it’s called a sandwich. I was like bro you were also where I am once. Here you have racism and I feel as if the Gujaratis support their people, punjabi’s support their people.
There are pros here as well but I realised that this place is not meant for me and it’s affecting my mental peace a lot.

Guys ... i am not trying to be offensive here .... just giving you the correct picture blunty ... first of all you have to remember that canada has only 37 million people versus 1400 million in india .... so jobs will be in same proportion .... getting any job is easy which is not the point but getting a well paying and sustainable job is very hard .... because you have to work your way up thru the pyramid without jugaad unlike back home where you could reach out to your mama and chacha ... also pay relative to tax and cost of living is extremely low ... so ponder over these things ... once you leave GTA/Vancouver/Montreal, canada is essentially a rural place
