Ayy man, prior e (who also just started ROTC) here. There isn't too much content out there for people like us, so I appreciate the videos. Keep it up!

I wanted to be a health services administrator so bad but I was told I wasn’t able to, even though I qualify for it but that’s another story 🙃 but I got acquisitions(works very close with contracting), was not at the top of my list. Public affairs was at the top of my list lol but it’s really hard to get unless you major in broadcast journalism or something like that. But I know a lot about these jobs, I actually just talked to a bunch of Lt’s in a bunch of different jobs (it was one of our llabs) so they gave us perspective of what we would be doing in that job. I talked to a contracting guy and secfo and lro Also one of our cadre is Lrs so she talks about that a lot but if you have any questions let me know!

Drop some more videos bro, in prior enlisted, hoping to go reserve after this deployment and do the exact same thing starting out at a community college though. Could you try to attain more info on being a pilot? Medical process as well? I’d appreciate that, thanks!

Think I can help some, I actually went to LEAD/ Field Training with D! lol so first off you gotta get a bachelor's degree and a commissioning source, i.e. OTS or doing R.O.T.C. Secondly you have to take the AFOQT (Air Force Officer's Qualifying Test) and then take the TBAS (test for basic aviation skills) . These tests will be combined and give you a PCSM score (pilot candidate selection method), ranked on a 1-99 scale. The higher your score, the higher your chances of being selected to be a pilot. Along with testing well, getting some flight hours (i.e. taking some sort of flying lesson) will also give you points towards your PCSM score and raise it. That is the basic rundown of some things you have to go through to get a pilot slot to attend UPT (Undergraduate Pilot Training). It is a very competitive process and not everyone gets the opportunity, but if your desire and drive is there then theres absolutely no reason why you can't get a slot to go to pilot training! I was selected back in February of 2018 and am still going through the process, along with working towards my bachelor's degree and commissioning, so if theres any other questions you have let me know! I'm sure D wouldn't mind seeing as he doesn't have the desire to be a pilot lol as for the medical career field I do not have any info for ya, sorry

Cj Helter thanks bro. Just one more question, what books did you use to study for the AFOQT and TBAS? If you passed I want to follow behind you lol preciate all the advice

Tim Brown I just googled AFOQT test prep and found a $15 one through amazon and used that! There’s a lot of material out there for free if you’re not looking to buy anything, but the stuff you can find is fairly decent for study prep

I’m currently in active duty army how would I go about getting in AFROTC after my initial contract ends?

Contracting for sure! Security Forces Dee?! What?! Lol

As a prior enlisted, are you double dipping with the AFROTC scholarship? Wondering if room & board/Food can be paid for with scholarship while tuition/monthly BAH can be paid for with Post 9/11.
I have been around MX officers and their job seems terrible. Lots of early mornings and getting yelled at by superiors for things that are out of their control. You should shoot for anything below security forces on that list.

Kolby B I am getting paid from the scholarship and from the G.I. Bill. The G.I. Bill will not pay for your dorm, as far as I know. It will pay for an apartment, though.

Does the job selection work the same if I did the SOAR program?

Jaamiya Franklin If the SOAR program sends you to ROTC, yes!

I'm sure you qualify for some of those jobs based on your asvab score as well. Do you mind me asking what you scored?
