Console gamers aren’t used to paying 500 dollars on top of their initial investment, I don’t think the psvr2 was overpriced based on its specs and overall quality, if anything it was pretty cheap compared to more expensive, older and less high end headsets like the index, but the original psvr was closer to a 300 dollar price point and did pretty well sales-wise. I think if this price cut becomes permanent the psvr2 could become a hit, gt7 in vr is one of my most played games in the past year and it’s honestly one of the best vr experiences I’ve ever had despite it being a “hybrid” game, designed for tvs primarily and vr secondary. Many other hybrid games like re4 have some pretty big compromises and I’d argue are better played first outside of vr but gt7 I can’t imagine ever going back to playing it on a tv.
I've seen a lot of people who own PSVR 2's say that they've gotten their money's worth and didn't think it was overpriced, but it's easier to find that value once you've made the investment. This sale makes it clear that there were a lot of people sitting on the sidelines who weren't willing to jump in at $550. Hopefully Sony gets the message. I doubt the sale price will be permanent, but it shouldn't go back up to the original price. It's really a shame Sony dropped the ball so hard with PSVR 2. It could've done much better if it launched with a more competitive price, better marketing, and a clear roadmap of future support. It would be great if this sale was the first step toward turning its fortunes around.
@@GreyMatterShadesme. It was a waste of money. I tried selling it but can’t even do that cause nobody wants it. The only pawn shop in my area didn’t want it either. They said they can’t sell the ones they have. They had to clearance them out to even sell.
Respect and love Gt7 but for me resident evil 4 yes the non vr cut scenes were lame but the blocking and vr specific reloading made the game easier and better. I loved village in vr specifically for the cut scenes but re4 in vr replaced goldeneye 64 as my most cherished video game memory.
I love VR and I hope this will give Sony the opportunity to experiment more with first party studios. The other day I imagined a VR-port of Shadow of the Colossus. Nice! Do you have any games for it yet? If you have PS+ Premium, there are a bunch of great PSVR 2 games included for free, and there are demos and trials available for a lot of other games. As a VR newcomer, it's possible you might run into some issues with motion sickness. A lot of people don't get it, but some do. If you do, try setting up a fan to blow on you while you play. It helps a lot. Also, it's important that if you feel a little sick you should stop and take a break, rather than trying to push through the symptoms. Over time you'll be able to play longer and longer without issues until it just isn't a problem anymore. Also, there are a bunch of games that are comfortable for almost anyone to play. Moss 1 and 2 are great for VR newcomers, as are Tetris Effect Connected, The Room VR: A Dark Matter, Puzzling Places, some of the "Job" type games (Job/Vacation Simulator, Startenders, Tentacular, etc.), and rhythm games like Beat Saber. Some of them might be on sale right now, and it's a good idea to have some fun games that you can play without any chance of feeling bad. If you have any questions or other issues, feel free to respond and I'll try to help you out. Hope you enjoy your PSVR 2! VR is amazing, to the point where I barely bother playing flat games anymore.

When they revealed the PSVR2 proving all my excitement for it dwindled. I already had PSVR 1 and a Quest 2 and a PC. So it felt like I got more bang for my buck with a Q3. But now that the price has come down I’m kinda curious about PSVR 2 again.

Thank you for the great content as always Jake! I recently picked of PSVR2 as my first VR headset ever and it has been so great so far. A bunch of free PSVR2 games on PS+ and great sales on games lately. Wanderer 2, Metro VR, Behemoth, and Alien Rogue Incursion coming up! Still need to play RE4 on VR also.
As a die hard Star Wars fan, Outlaws is the first one I don’t know if I’ll be picking up day one. I for sure will play it at some point. Need to see more reviews
I think another factor you didn’t mention with the spike in PSVR 2 sales is that they’re gearing up to release the PC adapter soon and they’ve already put out some software. I’m certain part of the spike in sales isn’t just the price reduction but the upcoming PC adoption too
This looks like Splinter Cell mixed with Watch Dogs mixed with Ghost Recon and it just so happens to be a Star Wars story holy crap!!! I'm not a pissy Star Wars fan like so many out there if it misses the mark I'm glad they tried because I have wanted these stories to keep going since I was a kid, and for the most part it has been enjoyable
This isn’t the non-lightsaber Star Wars game I wanted. I still want an over the shoulder Arkham style Mandalorian game. Half Witcher RPG half Arkham City. Create your own Mando and set out on the adventure, talking to NPCs, doing bounty hunter jobs and uncovering the main plot. Combat would be straight up Arkham Batman. Half melee half pistol/rifle, grapple, jet pack…
I still love Star Wars a lot, but I also mentally divide the various Star Wars properties we’ve gotten into “Soulless/Bad SW” and “Real SW” categories. Most things are in the Real SW category or at least lean that direction, but so far Outlaws looks to be leaning more toward the Soulless category. Would love to be wrong because SW STILL means something to me, but it would not surprise me if it released to mild reactions at best.
Great video, really like these, awesome they’re weekly! I’m looking forward to SWO. I hope people enjoy it. I just love games. Old timer/gamer, too old for arguments. I enjoy discussion but if you don’t dig it don’t play it. No reason to be nasty. Thanks Jake! Would like to see movie reviews, bring it back!
My PSVR2 hasn’t been switched on for months…the lack of backwards compatibility with PSVR1 was a shambles, still waiting on a VR2 patch for Star Wars Squadrons, the VR mission Battlefront 1 was fantastic but EA can’t be arsed. We need AAA games on it NOW
I actually got the game a week early due ordering the physical deluxe version, and it was shipped early due to there being a bank holiday this week. The game is certainly not perfect, but it is fun. It does have an AC feel with the stealth for sure. As for the outfits, you can also do similar to AC where you find clothing items that have benefits such as being able to carry more grenades or health regenerates faster, and if you dont like the look of the item, you can change its look to look like one of the clothing items you like. As I have the deluxe version, I have the Kessel pack which means Vess is wearing a variation of the classic Han Solo outfit.
I’m really excited for Star Wars Outlaws! As someone who always picks Han over Luke, this looks EXACTLY up my alley! I also genuinely like Ubisoft games so it’s a win win
Have you thought about the relation of the bar scene introduction of wolverine in the movie and the gameplay trailer? 🤔🤔 Instant connection for me and I have a feeling they're going with this wolverine story for the upcoming game
One glaring omision in the PSVR2 story is the soon to launch PSVR2 pc adaptor. Which makes owning a PSVR2 cheap way to get great VR experance on the PC. Personally already bought Alyx and I'm just waiting for my adaptor.
Completely agree w you about the AC / Ubisoft games of recent. Fun to a certain extent then quickly delving into monotony, overwhelming pacing, and mechanics that feel built for the sake of open-world gigantism.
I got my PSVR2 last year and I really love it. However, I haven't really enjoyed the new games they are trying to push like Call of the mountain. That's just me, I just can't get a full feeling of immersion when I move forward in the game but I stay sitting or standing in real life, so that's kept me from buying many games and instead I've stuck with my more arcade-y games like Beat Saber or Creed. I don't know if that has something to do with people not buying enough of these vr headsets but it's what happened to me.
Jake is a real one. I find it funny that the ppl who did the virtual preview are sorta mixed on it but the other group who went to the live one (with the free trip to Disneyland) are way more positive about it - I wonder why lpl
I also enjoyed Deadpool and Wolverine, it was fun. I’d love to hear a Jake deep dive on it! Also appreciate your thoughts on Outlaws. I’ll play it for sure, just to see. Looks fun. Expectations are realistic, just want to run around the worlds of Star Wars with Nix, doing crimes.
Psvr2 was one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. It was that next level immersion I was needing.. Resident evil 4 remake was just on another level. However the games just aren't there for it at all. I sadly sold it as it wasn't doing anything.
Before anyone rushes to judge a game, it’s important to remember that the only real reviews that matter are from everyday players who aren’t playing for ad revenue or any other monetary gain. The opinions of those who play the game without any financial incentives give a more authentic and relatable perspective. We also have to keep in mind that most of these reviews are coming from TH-cam channels with over a million followers-channels that have become more like critical companies rather than humble, independent voices. Let’s hold off on forming any solid opinions until the game has been fully released to the public, where it can be experienced and critiqued by people who aren’t influenced by the need to generate views or clicks.
Outlaws looks like a competent game and has potential to be fun for a lot of folks, but knowing Ubisoft they’re going to monetize the hell out of it following release. I think I’ll wait for the 60% sale for the complete version in about a year.
I always enjoy your videos, because you approach things with a level head and dont just crap on things or rant, which so many gaming channels do, which results in them gaining a toxic following and become almost like a cult. One game I cant wait for is Dragon Age Veilguard, and am actively avoiding the "hate" channels.

Jake's hair got the jiggle physics
hahaha
When they revealed the PSVR2 proving all my excitement for it dwindled. I already had PSVR 1 and a Quest 2 and a PC. So it felt like I got more bang for my buck with a Q3. But now that the price has come down I’m kinda curious about PSVR 2 again.
I have similar equipment as you, I’ve got the Q3 and had a Q2.
With that said, get it. You won’t be disappointed. GT7 and a wheel are worth the price alone, even when it was $550.
I can give you some other recommendations too!
I can agree with this point. I got the PSVR2 full price and have put almost 600 hours in GT7 since. I have not regretted the full price purchase for a second.
@@843Bobinatoryeah GT7 is like a perfect psvr2 usecase as the cable doesnt really bother you when playing a racing game BUT you can play tons of similar racing games on pcvr already
Jake’s hair trying to outdo the Fonz.
1 - Yes I think we would like a Deadpool & Wolverine review from you
2 - Does it bother anybody else that Ubisoft charges crazy amount for an "Ultimate Edition" only to go on sale a few months later? This is why I hesitate buying Ubisoft games right away, because I know that I can get it cheaper if I just wait a few months.
Looks like assassin’s creed with Star Wars layered over it
I still think it was a miss to not make this game’s protag a bounty hunter.
I can’t wait for the Metro VR game. I would love to see you Jake do a before you buy with it, if you’re able to of course.
I also appreciate your balanced commentary on Outlaws! Really tired of clickbait complaining.
thanks!
As a die hard Star Wars fan, Outlaws is the first one I don’t know if I’ll be picking up day one. I for sure will play it at some point. Need to see more reviews
"Can't make up my own mind, but need someone else to tell me what to like and what not to like"
1:26 ah yes dantoine. You're a real gamer :P
Great news for the Psvr2, love the headset especially Resident Evil 4 / Village, GT7, Madison and No Man Sky are absolutely stunning in vr.
Man,madison is so scary,still haven't finished it
This is my new favorite movie review channel
I think another factor you didn’t mention with the spike in PSVR 2 sales is that they’re gearing up to release the PC adapter soon and they’ve already put out some software. I’m certain part of the spike in sales isn’t just the price reduction but the upcoming PC adoption too
i want more force unleashed type of star wars game
As a fan of both stealth games and Star Wars, I'm all in, even if I do think the animations in the cutscenes are pretty bad.
This dude owes me a LOT of friggen pizza
Thanks Jake! I always look forward to your videos man.
I got a psvr2 when it was $100 off with $275 of netflix credit. Cost $175 total after the rebates. Bought it for pc exclusively.
Would love a full depth of Deadpool and Wolverine. Will always be here to listen!
Your videos make my day, keep up the great work
Would love to get into VR but until I see games I want to play on it, I will hold off.
Hair looks great today Jake
Something missing? Quality? Soul? Basic descence on pricing?
Great video, really like these, awesome they’re weekly! I’m looking forward to SWO. I hope people enjoy it. I just love games. Old timer/gamer, too old for arguments. I enjoy discussion but if you don’t dig it don’t play it. No reason to be nasty. Thanks Jake! Would like to see movie reviews, bring it back!
Yes, please do more movie stuff!
Jake! Jake! Give us a review of Star Wars Bounty Hunter released on July 31st
My PSVR2 PC adapter is arriving tomorrow, I can't wait to play Half Life: Alyx !!
“The new Star Wars game is souls like” Jake Baldino 2024
I wished he would make a new guardians of the Galaxy part 2. Very cool game but can't wait for this game to come out. Hopefully it is a cool game too!
The most trusted voice in gaming psvr2 is dope as hell resident evil 4 is amazing
I love your content, so definitely do a video about Deadpool and wolverine
As I have the deluxe version, I have the Kessel pack which means Vess is wearing a variation of the classic Han Solo outfit.
with the amount ive even used PSVR2 i really should have just waited for this price cut lol
I’m really excited for Star Wars Outlaws! As someone who always picks Han over Luke, this looks EXACTLY up my alley! I also genuinely like Ubisoft games so it’s a win win
I feel like I would love you to livestream so I could spend my day gaming with you jake, you are truly a joy
Super gay.
Just putting in my vote for the Deadpool and Wolverine vid from Jake
I love the PSVR2 since it released, the RE games, No Man's Sky, Gran Turismo 7 are especially incredible games.
Need that deadpool/wolverine review 🙏🏻
Have you thought about the relation of the bar scene introduction of wolverine in the movie and the gameplay trailer? 🤔🤔 Instant connection for me and I have a feeling they're going with this wolverine story for the upcoming game
One glaring omision in the PSVR2 story is the soon to launch PSVR2 pc adaptor. Which makes owning a PSVR2 cheap way to get great VR experance on the PC. Personally already bought Alyx and I'm just waiting for my adaptor.
I know I’ve commented this multiple times but I love this format and the frequency! Also I’m definitely all aboard for a dedicated Deadpool video!
Yes please to the movie reviews
Got myself a PSVR2 and loving it, hope it gets more games
Pls give us a dedicated video on your deadpool and wolverine impressions.
VR2 here in Australia is more expensive than the PS5 console - close to 900 bux
Yeah it's really a shame the sale wasn't worldwide. It didn't go on sale in Canada either 😒
Jake is a real one. I find it funny that the ppl who did the virtual preview are sorta mixed on it but the other group who went to the live one (with the free trip to Disneyland) are way more positive about it - I wonder why lpl
I’ve seen the opposite. At least 2 people that actually went there were the most negative out of anybody.
I'd like a full Deadpool breakdown, there's a lot to unpack/discuss
Psvr2 getting steam support probably helped sales
So Sony sold 300 VR units instead of 15 units…
Jake got the Jimmy Neutron hair going again!!
Might be like Uncharted 2? Sign me up!
Fucking LOVE seeing this man post
Thank youuu
I might be weird but I can’t wait for this game. I like Ubisoft open world and Star Wars so it sounds like a great match for me.
You aren’t weird. You know what you look like and that’s a good thing. I wish Star Wars Outlaws wasn’t open world but I’m still excited to play it.
Me too but I have never played a open world star wars game before and it sound very cool
It won't be good.
Psvr2 was one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. It was that next level immersion I was needing..
Resident evil 4 remake was just on another level.
However the games just aren't there for it at all.
I sadly sold it as it wasn't doing anything.
I also want a deadpool and wolverine deep dive, great video Jake!
I'm one of the ppl that got the Psvr 2. The price was just too good to ignore.
Let's see that Deadpool video. Mr. Baldino.
Outlaws looks like a competent game and has potential to be fun for a lot of folks, but knowing Ubisoft they’re going to monetize the hell out of it following release. I think I’ll wait for the 60% sale for the complete version in about a year.
I hate that the online gaming community is so negative that Jake has to start his video with a caveat. Good vid Jake!
If outlaws had a create a character rpg element they’d have avoided all these issues
I always enjoy your videos, because you approach things with a level head and dont just crap on things or rant, which so many gaming channels do, which results in them gaining a toxic following and become almost like a cult. One game I cant wait for is Dragon Age Veilguard, and am actively avoiding the "hate" channels.
YES on the full vid for deadpool wolverine!!!!
If you’re gonna mention PS VR2 you gotta talk about how No Man’s Sky is now the greatest game on it with the recent release of Worlds Part 1.
